Description
The invention relates to a ventilation device with an integrated oil separator according to the preamble of claim 1.
Diese Ausführung beansprucht nicht nur relativ viel Raum im Bereich des Zylinderkopfs, wo üblicherweise eine Nockenwelle verläuft, sondern beeinträchtigt auch die freie Gestaltung des Deckels.DE-OS 3 509 439 shows a ventilation system for internal combustion engine crankcases, which is provided above a cylinder head and forms a unit with a cover. This design not only takes up a relatively large amount of space in the area of the cylinder head, where a camshaft usually runs, but also impairs the free design of the cover.
From US Pat. No. 3,469,565 a ventilation device with an oil separator is known, which is complex in terms of manufacture and assembly due to a large number of different components.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a ventilation device with an integrated oil separator for an internal combustion engine which, with good function, is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and can be easily inserted into the crankcase without influencing other components.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1. Further features embodying the invention are contained in the subclaims.
The main advantages achieved with the invention are the fact that the ventilation device with integrated oil separator (gravity oil separator) is formed by only two pot-like components, namely an upper part and a lower part, which are easy to manufacture and assemble. As a unit, they can be easily inserted into the crankcase in a wall that extends between V-shaped rows of cylinders of the internal combustion engine.
The weight and the manufacturing costs of the ventilation device can be influenced favorably if the upper part and the lower part are made of plastic and are connected to one another by means of a permanent plug connection. If the baffles are formed by ribs provided on the upper and lower part, a functional guidance of the ventilation medium is ensured with a good oil separation effect.
