The oil pan (1), which is made of plastic, has a baffle insert (13) on the bottom, which is formed by a one-piece pot-like plastic component. This swirl pot insert (13) is guided from the outside of the base (9) to the oil pan (1). A collar (17) of the surge pot insert (13) lies against a bottom section of the oil pan. Screws (20), which penetrate the collar (17) and are screwed into metal thread inserts (26) of the oil pan (1), are used to fasten the swirl pot insert (13) to the oil pan (1).
Description
The invention relates to an oil pan according to the preamble of claim 1.
It is known to hold DE-AS 1 041 295, a baffle insert by means of resilient elements on lugs of an oil pan. The multi-part and consequently expensive baffle insert can be inserted through an opening in the bottom of the oil pan, which is closed by means of a plate fastened with screws. It is disadvantageous here that the resilient elements are complex components and, because of the internal combustion engine vibrations that occur, tolerances have to be adjusted relatively precisely to the lugs, which is expensive. Additional fastening measures for the plate are also required.
In addition, a plastic oil pan is known, DE-OS 36 06 052, which has no provisions for receiving a baffle insert.
The object of the invention is to simplify the baffle insert for an oil pan and to design it in such a way that a device for supplying oil pumps connected to the internal combustion engine can be easily assembled.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1. Further features embodying the invention are contained in the subclaims.
The main advantages achieved with the invention are that the swirl pot insert is a simple, easy-to-produce component that can be easily attached to the oil pan. In addition, the said insert can be installed when the oil pan is already attached to the crankcase, from which a device for supplying oil, consisting of a pipe section and strainer, is led out and into the oil pan. If the swirl pot insert were an integral part of the oil pan on this assembly stand, caused the installation of the device into the application complicated and time-consuming assembly processes.
Furthermore, the insert is integrated into the oil pan so that it does not protrude beyond the floor on the side facing away from the interior. Finally, the collar, the bottom section, the screws and the seal ensure that the baffle insert is properly attached to the oil pan.
- Fig. 2 eine Einzelheit X der Fig. 1 in größerem Maßstab.

The
The
The opening 21 of the
