Description

The present invention relates to a set of fittings for sliding doors and the like, of the type comprising at least one upper slide, grooved shoes, basic elements, balance wheels and a lower slide.

There are many and varied types of fittings for sliding doors seated on rails which in addition to their constraint of supporting relatively large weights must move very quietly, gently and slightly despite the weight of the leaves.

However, the known fittings do not completely meet these requirements, essentially with regard to the silent and smooth operation of the door.

The set of fittings which are the subject of the present invention not only meets these requirements but it also provides the following advantages:
  • It simplifies as much as possible the work of the carpenters for fixing the fittings, avoiding milling and grooving.
  • It offers alternatives for placing the leaves at different distances from the top rail, depending on the needs of the construction or decoration.
  • It allows the connection of the slides by pins which in turn align the rolling and sliding tracks of the two slides, which facilitates transport and use.
  • Two types of adjustment are obtained: a quick approximate adjustment by means of the upper grooved sliding elements and a fine adjustment allowing adjustment and to level the leaf of the door to the frame through the lower balance wheel.
  • The fittings in question can be fixed as well on already existing doors mounted with other models of fittings (rehabilitation of housing), as in casings of new construction without the need for expensive work.
  • It is a suitable product to be installed even by people not specialized in carpentry.

Essentially, the fittings for sliding doors and the like are of the type comprising those at least one upper slide in substantially inverted L shape, provided, on its horizontal branch, with a series of countersunk holes, longitudinally distributed, regularly, to accommodate the corresponding fixing screws, as well as a circular section groove capable of accommodating a serrated pin, to align the sliding track with two contiguous sections of slides, located on the horizontal branch at the intersection zone of the two branches, of which the intersection is reinforced by ribs which surround the circular section groove, grooved pads which are immobilized to basic elements which are fixed to the upper part of the door leaf and a set of balance wheel fixed to the part lower of the door leaf and which rolls on a lower slide also in substantially L-shape, the cara essential characteristics consisting in that each grooved pad has a substantially C shape and is provided with grooved ends capable of receiving the vertical branch of the upper slide while on its inner part, it is provided with grooves and flanges placed face to face symmetrically and capable of fitting together with the corresponding flanges and grooves of the base element for their attachment to the door leaf, this set of grooves and flanges being displaced from the horizontal plane of shoe symmetry, so that '' by placing this skate in reverse form, it is at a distance from the edge of the leaf distinct from that which it had in its original position, the external face of the skate offering signs which make it possible to identify in which of the two positions it turns out that.

These pads are provided with a second groove displaced from their plane of symmetry, with which a higher position is obtained than the mentioned groove by passing it over the upper part in cases where the upper slide would have been installed higher.

Similarly, the basic elements can be fixed lower if one wishes to succeed in ensuring that the upper edge of the door leaf is as close to the frame as necessary, also including on the lower part of the door leaf wheels- pendulum provided with rolling elements in turn covered on their periphery with a plastic or similar groove to dampen both vibrations and noise, fixed to balance plates by a riveted axis, these plates being provided, at their turn, of a rod which acts as a pivot axis of the plates mentioned by providing an elevation or a descent of the balance wheel and, by antagonistic movement, that of the indicated leaf of the door, the balance plate itself -Even being provided with the relevant holes for the passage of the screws for fixing the wing mentioned, as well as a lower slide substantially in the form of L on the base of which a groove with circular section area is practiced whose purpose is to accommodate a pin similar to that of the upper slide for the same purpose of connecting sections of slide, its vertical branch being also circular in section to cooperate with the groove of the wheel.

These two slides are provided with the relevant countersunk holes to accommodate as many screws or the like.

Other characteristics and advantages of the fittings for sliding doors and the like which are the subject of the present invention will emerge from the description which is made subsequently, on the attached drawings which illustrate, without limitation, a method of realization of an application on a cabinet door.
  • Fig. 1 shows the arrangement of the fittings in a sectional view, along line II, of FIG. 2; and
  • Fig. 2 is an elevational view, with the fittings installed on the left half of a cabinet door leaf seen from inside the latter.

A l'intersection de la branche verticale et l'horizontale de la glissière supérieure 1 mentionnée des nervures de renfort 8 sont agencées qui enveloppent la rainure à section circulaire 3.In the figures shown, we appreciate an upper slide 1 in the form of an inverted L by which the grooved pads 2 slide, provided on its upper part with a groove with circular section 3 ready to accommodate, if necessary, striated pins 4, known per se, and countersunk holes 5 drilled on the horizontal branch of the profile cited in the form of an inverted L 1, at regular intervals, to accommodate the screws or the like 6 corresponding to fix the upper slide 1 cited to the upper cross member 7 of l door frame. Reinforcement ribs 8 are arranged at the intersection of the vertical branch and the horizontal of the upper slide 1 mentioned which surround the circular section groove 3.

The grooved pad 2 in substantially C shape, with its grooved ends 9 for housing the vertical branch of the upper slide 1 is provided with grooves 10 arranged for the adjusted reception of the upper edges 11 of a base element 12 and d 'a rim 13 which cooperate with the corresponding housings 14 of the base element 12 cited. The uneven sections 15 and 16 provide asymmetry to the grooved pad 2 cited, which offers the possibility of maintaining the guide even if the upper slide 1 has been installed a little higher following a fixing of the upper cross member 7 to a height greater than that which is appropriate.

The basic element 12 in substantially H-shaped form, is provided with flanges 11 all along and at the outer ends it has grooves 14 which cooperate with one another. adjusted way with the grooves 10 and corresponding edges 13 of the grooved pad 2. On the central branch of the base element there are two holes 19 the purpose of which is to accommodate two screws or the like 20 for fixing this base element 12 to the internal face of the leaf 21 of the door. The spacing between these screws 20 is provided so that their heads facilitate the immobility of the base element 2 by the interference between the internal wall of the grooved pad 2 mentioned and the upper part of the heads of the screws 20 mentioned.

The balance wheel 23, with a grooved external configuration 24, to cooperate with the vertical rim with circular section 25 of the lower slide 26, is provided with the corresponding rolling element 27, integrally connected to the grooved wheel 28 made of material absorbing vibrations and noises, and an axle-rivet 29 the purpose of which is to make this rolling element 28 integral with the balance plate 30, which is provided with the corresponding openings in the form of longitudinal holes 31 at their ends and an intermediate hole 32 drilled near the periphery of the balance plate 30 mentioned. The longitudinal holes 31 cited are intended to allow fine adjustment to adjust and level the leaf of the door 21 to its frame, the hole 32 having the purpose of fixing this balance plate 30 in its final position. The mentioned balance plate 30 is provided in its center of symmetry with a rod 33 allowing the pivoting of the mentioned balance plate 30 around the latter, so that this provides the balance wheel 23 with a translational movement around it since its axis is moved by the rivet axis 29 of the rod 33, which results in a gradual raising or lowering of the leaf of the door 21 and the adjustment corresponding to its framing.

The lower slide 26, also in the form of L, is provided on its base with a circular section groove arranged to accommodate a striated pin 4 whose purpose is to allow the connection of the two sections of lower slide 26, as well as on the upper slide 1 and the correct alignment of its rolling path 25 at the time that its horizontal branch is provided with countersunk holes 5 drilled at regular intervals to accommodate the corresponding screws 6 or the like which must be fixed to the lower cross member 34, their vertical branch being of circular section 25 in order to cooperate with the groove 24 of the grooved wheel 23.
