- a pressurization is carried out in the hydraulic circuit which terminates by the conduit 23 (see FIG. 3) in chambers 24 formed in the outer bearing support 7 and containing the sliding pistons 19. Consequently, the supply of hydraulic fluid in the chambers or cylinders 24 will cause the pistons 19 and therefore the tube sections 14b, 14a, and the tubular member 9 to rotate freely, thanks to the bearing 18, with the housing 2b of the differential 2. As a result this produces, by tilting the levers 17, a tightening of the discs 12 and therefore a reduction in the slip of the differential.
- the flange 22 is brought into contact with the bearing 7, so that the openings 21 engage on the nozzles 20 of the pistons 19. Then, the two sections 14a, 14b are moved aside by threading the end 14c (FIG. 3) of the section 14a in the corresponding bore of the casing 3, until this end abuts against the opposite end of the tubular member 9 by means of the bearing 18.
- variable slip differential control device in which the hydraulic control means are integrated into the external bearing supporting the output shaft of the differential, it being understood that the sliding control tube 14 surrounding the output shaft 4 can be easily assembled and disassembled.
- This device is very easy to adapt, in particular to transverse powertrains comprising an intermediate transmission shaft carried by an external bearing.
