Definitions
- the present invention relates to a trellis beam, made of wood and metal. More particularly, this invention relates to a beam comprising two wooden frames joined to one another by a trellis of metal oblique bars.
- the two wooden frames are joined to each other by a metal wire of sinusoidal shape.
- the bases and tops of the "waves" formed by the metal wire are embedded and glued into the wood of the frames. Due to the small dimensions of the trellis consisting of a simple metal wire, this beam structure has poor buckling resistance. Such a beam structure can only be envisaged with dimensions and in particular reduced spans, which greatly limits its applications.
- the realization of this type of truss is dependent on the quality of the bonding of the metal wire on the wooden frames, and from this point of view it requires very careful manufacturing therefore expensive.
- a "wood + metal” composite beam the two wooden frames are joined to one another by lateral metal connectors, in the shape of a "V", which are applied and fixed against the lateral faces. of the two members.
- the connectors are fixed to the members by stapling, and the mechanical properties of the beam are here dependent on the quality of the stapling.
- the members must be made of high quality wood, therefore expensive, in particular a wood with a low knot rate.
- Metal connectors require special preparation including a drawing operation to form the stapling pins.
- the lateral position of the connectors does not allow a distribution of the forces transmitted over the entire width of the members, and this arrangement reduces the accessibility to the lateral faces of the members, therefore complicates the assembly operations of this type of beam with d other elements.
- the present invention aims to eliminate all the drawbacks of the currently known embodiments.
- the trellis in the lattice beam, in wood and metal, object of the invention, consists of a metal tube bent in a zig-zag, the successive sections of which constitute the oblique bars, the elbows of the bent metal tube having flattenings which are joined alternately to the two wooden frames by means of collars embracing, each, one of the frames and a flattened area of the metal tube bent in a zig-zag.
- the trellis of the beam is achievable in an economical and precise manner, from a straight tube, by flattening the tube at regular intervals, then by bending this tube in a zig-zag.
- the use of a tube makes it possible to obtain an optimal inertia for a reduced mass (the choice of the thickness of the tube influencing the inertia), as well as a distribution of the forces transmitted over the entire width of the wooden members which work in this way. homogeneously, while leaving the lateral faces of these members completely free.
- the metal tube, bent in a zig-zag has an oval section whose largest dimension extends transversely to the general plane of the beam; the oval section facilitates the flattening operation of the tube, and it frees up maximum space for the crossing of the beam by other elements, such as pipes.
- the flattened areas of the metal tube, bent in a zig-zag have a width substantially equal to the width of each of the frames.
- the flattened areas of the metal tube also allow a simple mechanical connection, resistant to the "knots" of the structure, thanks to the collars which each embrace one of the frames and a flattened area of the metal tube bent in a zig -zag.
- It may be, in particular, metal collars made for example from a strip, which are closed on themselves by a weld.
- the welding of each collar is carried out between the ends of the two oblique bars ending in the flattened zone of the tube entwined by this collar. In this way, the welding is carried out entirely in contact with and in the vicinity of metal parts, therefore without the risk of burning the wood of the members. This welding is possible by any process, such as "laser” or "microplasma".
- the necklaces are put in place by making local crushing of the two wooden frames.
- the meeting of the metal tube bent in a zig-zag with the members is accompanied by a compression of the wood, locally increasing its density and its resistance.
- the local crushing of the wood of the frames is such that the collars take place inside the initial volume of the frames, which thus retain faces without protrusion, practically smooth, facilitating the assembly of the beam to neighboring parts. In this way, a real fitting is obtained, which intimately combines the wooden parts and the metal parts.
- the "nodes" of the truss object of the invention are preferably made, by a suitable choice of the length of the flattened areas of the tube, so that the respective axes of two oblique bars, constituted by two successive sections of the metal tube bent in a zig-zag, compete at a point located on the axis of a wooden frame, therefore on the neutral fiber of this frame.
- the truss shown in Figure 1, comprises two frames 1 and 2 made of wood, which in the example considered are rectilinear, parallel and of the same length.
- the two wooden frames 1 and 2 each have a rectangular section - see also Figure 2.
- the two frames 1 and 2 are joined to one another by oblique bars 3, constituting the trellis of the beam.
- this trellis is metallic and consists of a tube 4, bent in a zig-zag so that each straight section of this bent tube 4 constitutes one of the oblique bars 3.
- the upper elbows of the bent tube 4 are joined to the upper wooden frame 1 by metal collars 5.
- the lower elbows of the bent tube 4 are joined to the lower wooden frame 2 by metal collars 6.
- the metal tube 4 has an oval section - see Figure 2.
- the largest dimension of the oval section of the tube 4 is oriented transversely to the general plane of the beam.
- Figures 2 and 3 show more precisely a "knot" of the beam, that is to say the part where two oblique bars 3 consecutive are joined to one of the members 2, by means of a collar 6.
- the tube 4 has a flattening, as indicated in 7.
- the collar 6 embraces the frame 2 and the flattened area 7 of the tube 4, which has a width substantially equal to that of the frame 2.
- This collar 6 is closed on itself by a longitudinal weld 8, produced in its upper part between the ends of the two bars 3.
- the width of the collar 6 corresponds to the length of the flattened area 7 of the tube 4.
- the establishment of the collar 6 is carried out by carrying out, as indicated by arrows 9 and 10, a crimping which leads to a local crushing, on the surface, of the wooden frame 2.
- the collar 6 takes place at the inside the initial volume of the member 2, so that in the final state of the beam member 2 retains substantially smooth faces.
- the compression obtained by means of the collar 6 ensures the solidity of the assembly and the distribution of the forces.
- the respective axes 11 and 12 of the two consecutive oblique bars 3 compete at a point situated on the axis 13, therefore on the neutral fiber of the frame 2.
- the wooden and metal truss beam previously described, is applicable to the production of various structures, in particular in the field of building and civil engineering.
- This beam can be used alone or with other similar beams, to form two-dimensional or three-dimensional structures.

Abstract
Description
- Figure 1 est une vue de face d'une poutre à treillis, en bois et métal, conforme à la présente invention ;
- Figure 2 est une vue partielle en perspective, montrant un détail de la poutre de figure 1 ;
- en prévoyant des membrures en bois 1 et 2 de longueurs différentes, notamment une membrure inférieure 2 plus courte pour la réalisation d'une poutre en "bateau" ;
- en modifiant la section des membrures en bois 1 et 2, notamment en prévoyant pour ces membrures une section de forme générale rectangulaire avec des angles arrondis, autour desquels s'enroulent les colliers 5 et 6 qui réunissent ces membrures 1 et 2 aux zones aplaties 7 du tube métallique 4 plié en zig-zag, ce qui peut faciliter la mise en place des colliers ;
- en modifiant la section du tube métallique 4 ou les angles d'inclinaison des barres obliques 3 formées par ce tube ;
