Abstract

This invention relates to a switching panel with a desk-like casing part, the open upper side of which is provided with a peripheral sealing flange and which is inclined downwardly to its forward wall. The casing opening can be closed by a lid, which is supported in a hinged manner in the area of the upper, horizontal side of the casing opening. The lid has a peripheral rounded edge which in the closed position of the lid encloses the sealing flange and extends with the forward and edge sections of the lid over a portion of the forward wall of the casing part. The free end of the forward edge section is bent toward forward wall of the casing part. To avoid injury when closing the lid, the free end of the forward edge section is first bent inwardly at an acute angle forming a first handle section. The free end extends approximately to the free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections. Through the formation of a handle opening which has an approximately inverted V-shaped cross section, the free end of the forward edge section further extends over a second handle section. The free end of the forward section is externally bent somewhat snugly with the free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections.

Description

The invention relates to a control cabinet with a desk-like housing part, the open top of which is provided with a circumferential sealing web and sloping towards the front wall, in which the housing opening can be closed by means of a flap which is pivotably mounted in the region of the upper, horizontal side of the housing opening and with a circumferential, bevelled edge is provided which, in the closed position of the flap, encloses the sealing web and extends with the front and with the edge sections adjoining it laterally over part of the front wall of the housing part, the free end of the front edge section leading to the front wall of the housing part is angled towards. A control cabinet of this type has become known through the catalog "The large control cabinet immediate program 82", pages 63 and 71, Rittal-Werk Rudolf Loh GmbH & Co.KG, D-6348 Herborn.

When opening and closing, the flap is touched on the front edge. In particular, the angled end of the front edge section is usually included when the flap is closed. There is then a risk of injury, particularly with large and heavy metal flaps, since there is only a very small distance between the front edge section of the flap and the front wall of the housing part and the sealing web projects as a sharp edge on the front side of the housing opening. If the flap is gripped at the angled end of the front edge section, then the fingers of the hand are pinched and injured when passing the sealing edge between the sealing web and the front edge part of the flap.

It is an object of the invention to design the flap on the front edge section in a control cabinet of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be easily gripped and handled without risk of injury when opening and closing.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the free end of the front edge section is initially bent inwards at an acute angle via a first grip section and extends approximately to the free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections and that subsequently with the formation of a cross section approximately V-shaped handle receptacle, the free end of the front edge section is bent outward again approximately flush with the free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections.

With this simple design, i.e. Bending the free end of the front edge portion of the flap, a handle receptacle is created, through which the flap can be grasped when opening and closing so that the fingers no longer protrude into the space between the front wall of the housing part and the front edge portion and therefore especially when Closing the flap can no longer touch the sealing web on the front side of the housing opening. There is therefore no longer any risk of injury when handling the flap.

The overall optical impression of the flap can essentially be retained in that the laterally adjoining edge sections with cover sections are extended beyond the handle receptacle and terminate them laterally. This is particularly important when it is provided that the front wall of the housing part merges into the bottom of the housing part via an inclined wall section In the closed position of the flap, the front edge section of the flap with the laterally adjacent edge sections extends as far as the inclined wall section of the housing part, and that the cover sections of the laterally adjacent edge sections with their free edges are approximately in extension to the inclined wall section of the housing part. The side views of the control cabinet then remain unchanged compared to the known control cabinet.

So that the flap with the extended front edge section when closing can pass the sealing web on the front side of the housing opening, it is provided that the edge sections laterally adjacent to the front edge section of the flap in the closed position of the flap with their free edges at a distance parallel to the Front wall of the housing part run. This distance depends on the degree of overlap between the front edge portion of the flap and the front wall of the housing part.

The handle receptacle at the angled end of the front edge portion of the flap is preferably designed so that the first handle portion of the handle receptacle to the front edge portion of the flap and the two handle portions of the handle receptacle are at an angle of about 45 ° to each other and that the transitions from the front edge portion to the first handle section and from this to the second handle section are rounded.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, only the projecting console-like housing part 20 is shown from the control cabinet, which has a housing opening 21 on the open top. This upper side is provided with the circumferential sealing web, which is composed of bent or bent sections 22, 23 and 29 of the front wall 24, the top wall 28 and the side walls 26 of the housing part. The front wall 24 of the housing part 20 merges into the bottom 27 of the housing part 20 via the inclined wall section 25. The open back of the housing part 20 forms the transition to a room of the control cabinet, as indicated in FIGS. 1 and 2 in the right part.

The housing opening 21 is sloping towards the front wall 24 and is closed by the flap 10. The flap 10 is plate-like and stiffened all around by the folded edge, as the edge sections 12, 13, 14 and 19 show. In the closed position, the flap 10 encloses the sealing web around the housing opening 21 with its edge. The flap 10 lies with a sealing element 30 on the free edge of the sealing web, as can be clearly seen in FIG. 3. This sealing element 30 is attached to the inside of the flap 10 and follows the contour of the circumferential sealing web. As the axis of rotation 18 shows, the flap 10 is pivotally mounted outside the section 23 of the sealing web on the housing part 20.

The front edge portion 13 of the flap 10 is widened with the laterally adjacent edge portions 14 so that the front wall 24 of the housing part 20 is covered in the closed position. The free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections 14 are parallel and at a predetermined distance from the front wall 24 of the housing part 10. This design is coordinated so that the front edge part of the flap 10 can safely pass the front section 22 of the sealing web when the flap 10 is closed.

As FIG. 3 shows, the free end of the front edge section 13 is initially bent inwards at an angle of 45 ° as the first handle section 16. This first grip section 16 extends approximately to the free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections 14. Then the free end of the front edge section 13 as the second grip section 17 is again bent outwards by approximately 45 ° to the first grip section 16. The second grip section 17 is approximately flush with the free edges of the laterally adjacent edge sections 14. The two handle sections 16 and 17 form a handle receptacle 15 with an approximately V-shaped cross section. The laterally adjacent edge sections 14 are extended beyond the handle receptacle 15 and close the handle receptacle 15 laterally with the cover sections 14a in such a way that in the closed position the free edges of the cover sections 14a form an extension to the inclined wall section 25.

As can be seen in FIG. 3, the flap 10 can be easily gripped with the fingertips via the handle receptacle 15. The flap 10 can be gripped and held well without the fingers coming into contact with it when passing the front section 22 of the sealing web. This is particularly important when closing the flap 10, so that injury by pinching the fingers is avoided. In control cabinets, the flap 10 is made of metal and is very heavy in the case of large housing parts 20. Therefore, avoiding pinching your fingers is very important. With the handle receptacle 15, which is produced in such a simple manner, a certain grasping and holding of the flap 10 when the flap 10 is opened and closed is predetermined, and the risk of injury is thus eliminated.
