Abstract

The umbrella-type clothes drier (1) possesses four supporting arms (3) fastened in an articulated manner to a supporting sleeve (4) which is displaceable along a vertical mast (2). Collapsible umbrella-type clothes dryer with a vertical post (2) and a plurality of arms (3) which can be spread out-wards, between which individual portions (7') of a clothes line extend, with a support sleeve (4) surrounding the post (2) and mounted to slide along the latter, to which the spreadable arms (3) are pivotally attached at one end, and each with a strut (8) associated with one arm (3), which struts are pivotally connected at one end by way of a joint to the associated arm (3) and at the other end by a head part (10) of the post (2), the arms (3) being able to be spread outwards due to sliding of the support sleeve (4) along the post (2) or being able to be retracted into an inoperative position adjoining the post (2) due to sliding of the support sleeve (4) along the post (2) in the opposite direction, characterised in that at least one of the arms (3) can be locked in its inoperative position adjoining the post (2) and at least a part of the clothes line (7) extending loosely from arm (3) to arm (3) in the collapsed position of the umbrella-type clothes dryer (1) being able to be drawn out of the umbrella-type clothes dryer (1) at its end through an opening provided on the locked arm (3), said opening comprising a locking device (11) for the clothes line (7).
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to Patent Claim 1, which comprises four spreadable arms (3), characterised in that the four uppermost, continuous washing line portions (7') extending between the four arms (3) can be pulled out.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to Patent Claim 1 or 2, chararcterised in that the locking device (11) comprises a self-locking eccentric (23) engaging over the pulled-out line (7a).
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to Patent Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the locking device (11) comprises a projection (25) disposed on the arm (3), which projection has an outer surface tapering conically towards the upper surface of the arm.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to one of the preceding Patent Claims, characterised in that a pawl (19) with a hook-shaped end, which is mounted to tilt on the post (2), is provided for locking at least one arm (3), which end engages in the arm (3)or engages over the latter in the locking position.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to one of Patent Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a sliding member mounted to slide on the post (2) is provided for locking at least one arm (3), which sliding member engages in the arm or engages over the latter in the locking position.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to one of the Patent Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a cap (10a) located on the top end of the post (2) and able to slide in its longitudinal direction, is provided for locking the arms (3), which cap engages by its surface over the ends of the arms in the locking position.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to one of the preceding Patent Claims, characterised in that a retraction device for the pulled-out clothes line sections (7a) is provided.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to Patent Claim 8, characterised in that the retraction device comprises a tension spring (14), whereof one end is attached to the respective arm (3) and whereof the other end supports an eyelet (16) enclosing the respective clothes line section (7') and sliding freely.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to Patent Claim 8, characterised in that the retraction device comprises a weight (17), which is suspended from the respective line section (7') by means of an eyelet (18) sliding freely.
Umbrella-type clothes dryer according to Patent Claim 8, characterised in that a common retraction device is associated respectively with two adjacent line sections (7').
