Abstract
A jacket (10) provided with a front slide fastener (12) and a hood (16) has a pair of tapes fixed at their ends to the inside of the edge of the jacket. When the jacket (10) has been turned inside out, the tapes function as straps of a rucksack whose bottom and mouth are closed by respective cords (26, 24) associated with the bottom (10a) and the hood (16) of the jacket (10).
Description
- The present invention relates to a jacket provided with a front slide fastener and a hood.
- The object of the present invention is to provide a jacket of the above type which is very practical in use and has a dual function.
- This object is achieved by virtue of the fact that the jacket comprises, in combination, a slide for the slide fastener which can be operated both externally and internally, first closure means provided in the hood, second closure means provided substantially at the lower edge of the jacket, and a pair of tapes fixed at their ends to the inside of the back of the jacket in such a way that, when the jacket has been turned inside out, the tapes act as the straps of a rucksack constituted by the inside-out jacket, the first and second closure means being adapted to close the mouth and the bottom of the rucksack.
- By virtue of these characteristics, the jacket according to the invention can be used for sporting purposes and, according to circumstances, can be transformed into a rucksack for holding objects which are not particularly heavy, such as clothing, food, etc.
- Further advantages and characteristics of the jacket according to the invention will become clear from the detailed description which follows, provided purely by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
- Figure 1 is a front view of the jacket,
- Figure 2 is a detail of Figure 1 on an enlarged scale,
- Figure 3 is a rear view of the jacket of Figure 1,
- Figure 4 is a rear view of the rucksack produced by turning the jacket inside out, in the open condition,
- Figure 5 is a view taken on the arrow V of Figure 4, and
- Figure 6 is a similar view to Figure 4, illustrating the rucksack in its closed configuration.
- With reference to the drawings, a fabric jacket for sports use having a
front slide fastener 12, around collar 14 and ahood 16 is generally indicated 10. As illustrated in Figure 2, theslide fastener 12 has aslide 18 provided withoperating tags jacket 10 respectively. - In the lower part of the jacket, a
flap 22 haseyelets 22a for cooperating withcorresponding fastenings 22b upon closure over theslide fastener 12. - Along the whole of its perimeter, the
hood 16 has acasing 15, formed, for example, in the lining, in which is inserted afirst cord 24 whoseends 24a emerge from thecasing 15 adjacent the upper end of theslide fastener 12; similarly, thelower edge 10a of the jacket has acasing 25 is which is inserted asecond cord 26 whoseends 26a emerge in correspondence with the lower end of theslide fastener 12. - Figures 4 and 5 illustrate the jacket in the inside-out condition, with the slide fastener closed. Two
tapes 28 are sewn at theirends 28a to the fabric of the inside D of the back of thejacket 10.Auxiliary tapes 30 are also sewn to thetapes 28 and can be joined together reversibly by means ofpress studs 30a. - It is clear that, in the configuration illustrated in Figures 4 and 5, the
jacket 10 is like a rucksack Z which has an open bottom F and an open mouth B, and in which thetapes 28 act as carrying straps. - The
second cord 26 and thefirst cord 24 are used to close the bottom F and the mouth B of the rucksack Z respectively, their ends being tied as clearly illustrated in Figure 6. - As an alternative to cords for closing the bottom and the mouth of the rucksack, press studs, ties or similar means may be used.
