  • a plurality of generally rectangular shaped air-inlet holes 17 by means of which air is admitted to the oven gas burner 1 from the underside of the floor section 2, and it is arranged that the upper part 7 is provided around its periphery with a number of downwardly depending tags which extend into selected ones of the slots 17 and which are then crimped over the edge of the slots 17 as shown at 19 in figure 3, to attach the upper part 7 of the burner 1 to the lower part 5.

  • a microwave oven is provided with an additional gas burner, and in such dual ovens it may be arranged that the sizing and disposition of the air inlet slots 17 are chosen so as to provide a block to microwave radiation.
  • the lower part 5 of the oven gas burner 1 is shown as being an integral part of the floor section 2 of an oven, with the upper section 7 being separate therefrom, it will be appreciated that the upper part 7 could equally well be formed integrally with the floor section 2 and the lower part 5 may be provided as a separate part. It will also be appreciated that the burner section 8 and the supply passageway 9 are provided in side-by-side relationship for convenience only and they may, for example, be formed in an in-line configuration.
  • the oven gas burner 1 is depicted as being an integral part of the floor section 2 of an oven, it should be appreciated that in some arrangements it may be possible to integrate it with one or other of the side walls of the oven or with the rear wall of the oven.
  • the oven gas burner 1 described hereinbefore is advantageous in that it comprises only two parts, one of which is constituted by and formed with the floor section of the oven and both parts of which are relatively simple pressings.
