Abstract

A container which can be easily filled and handled for the packing of two compositions which must be separately kept until mixed shortly before use, consists of two separate chambers which are arranged one upon the other in a packing unit. The upper chamber is provided with a closeable orifice for the delivery of the mixture. An intermediate part is arranged between the two chambers and such part has cutting edges or sharp mandrels on both sides thereof which allow the two compositions being separately kept to be mixed by cutting the bottom part of the upper chamber and the upper part of the bottom chamber when the container is pressed or screwed together.

Description

The present invention relates to a container for packaging two compositions to be kept separate from one another until use, which are mixed with one another immediately before use.

Derartige Zweikomponenten-Behältnisse sind seit langem bekannt.Such two-component containers have been known for a long time.

They usually consist of two separate chambers arranged one above the other in a packaging unit, the upper chamber being provided with a closable dispensing opening for dispensing the mixture, both containers being separated by a separating film, and a sharp-edged punching tool being available for screwing together or Compressing the containers pierces the separating film and thus enables the contents of the container to be mixed immediately before use.

Such a two-component packaging is described for example in DE-PS 2 760 079.

Weitere Ausgestaltungen solcher bekannter Zweikomponenten-Behältnisse sind in der DE-OS 2 451 167, der DE-AS 1 536 305, der DE-OS 2 211 753, der US-PS 3 521 745, der US-PS 3 548 562, der DE-GbmS 7317067, der DE-OS 2 211 753 sowie der DE-OS 2 539 231 geoffenbart.Further configurations of such known two-component containers are in DE-OS 2 451 167, DE-AS 1 536 305, DE-OS 2 211 753, US Pat. No. 3,521,745, US Pat. No. 3,548,562 DE-GbmS 7317067, DE-OS 2 211 753 and DE-OS 2 539 231 are disclosed.

The filling of these two-component packagings with the compositions kept separate until they are used is generally carried out by first filling the container located at the bottom with the product to be accommodated therein, then welding its opening to the upper container by means of a separating film, and then welding the latter is filled and sealed.

Such a process consisting of several steps is relatively cumbersome and complex.

A further disadvantage of the known two-component containers is that the opening mechanism, ie the mandrel causing the separating film to pierce during use or a corresponding cutting edge, must be arranged in one of the two chambers and is therefore in constant contact with the contents thereof. which can cause undesired changes to the product if stored for a long time.

There was therefore a need to develop a two-chamber packaging that does not have these disadvantages.

It has now been found that these disadvantages can be avoided in generic two-component containers of the type defined at the outset, if an intermediate member provided on both sides with cutting edges or spikes is arranged between the two chambers, which when the two chambers are compressed or screwed together at the same time, the lower part of the upper chamber and the upper part of the lower chamber are separated, thus permitting the mixing of the separately held compositions and the dispensing of the mixture thus produced.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the following figures.
  • 1 shows a view of the completed two-component container from the outside.
  • Figure 2 shows a section through a container according to Figure 1.
  • Figure 3 shows a possible embodiment of the container coupling.

Figur 1 zeigt eine Außenansicht des integrierten Zweikomponenten-Behältnisses, wobei (1) die über dem oberen Behältnis (2) angebrachte Verschlußkappe und (3) das untere Behältnis darstellen, und (5) das mit einem Schraubelement ausgestattete Zwischenteil ist, in dessen Inneren sich der Öffnungsmechanismus in Form von beidseitigen Schneidkanten oder spitzen Dornen befindet.FIG. 1 shows an external view of the integrated two-component container, (1) representing the closure cap attached above the upper container (2) and (3) the lower container, and (5) the intermediate part equipped with a screw element, in the interior of which there is the opening mechanism is in the form of double-sided cutting edges or pointed spikes.

Figur 2 gibt einen Querschnitt durch das Behältnis nach Figur 1 wieder, wobei (1) wiederum einen Schraubverschluß, mit dem das Oberteil (2) verschlossen wird, darstellt.FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the container according to FIG. 1, with (1) again representing a screw closure with which the upper part (2) is closed.

This upper part (2) is connected to the lower container (3) by a central part (5), which is equipped with two sealing rings (4) and cutting rings (8). The upper part (2) is sealed on its underside and the lower part (3) on its upper opening with a film (6), which preferably consists of aluminum coated on both sides with plastic and is welded to the respective container material.

Figure 3 shows the screw mechanism (7), by means of which the middle part (5) can be moved by rotation so that the cutting elements (8) destroy the foils (6) and thereby mix the contents of the containers (2) and ( 3) is possible.

The destruction of the foils by the cutting elements (8) or mandrels arranged analogously can of course also be provided by an elastic configuration of the central part (5), which allows the containers to be compressed.

Likewise, the upper part (2) does not necessarily have to be closed by a screw cap, but can have any known closure device.

The two-component container according to the invention is particularly suitable for dispensing hair colorants based on oxidation dyes and peroxides, which, as is known, must be kept separate until they are used.
