Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for wrapping elongated objects such as thread, strip, strand, tube or rod-shaped materials, in particular strands of hair with at least one winding material in the form of a thread, strip, ribbon or the like.
- FIG. 1 shows a number of hair strands 1 already wrapped with a thread
- FIG. 2 shows a finished hairstyle which consists of a large number of artistically joined hair strands wrapped with thread.
- the invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned, in particular for Wrapping strands of hair with a thread is suitable.
- This device should not only shorten the actual winding process considerably, but also make it possible to carry it out with a uniformity comparable to manual winding.
- the invention has the advantage that the winding process with a device in which the strand of hair to be wrapped is inserted can be carried out semi-automatically by simply switching on a drive motor and then moving the entire device gradually from the hairline in the direction of the hair tips .
- the duration of the winding process can be shortened many times compared to the previous winding duration.
- An essential part of the device according to the invention is a sleeve 2, which is used to hold an unwound, elongated Object, for example a strand of hair 3, which attaches to a schematically indicated scalp 4.
- the sleeve 2 preferably has a cylindrical inner cross section.
- the outer cross section is also expediently cylindrical.
- the sleeve 3 is preferably divided parallel to its axis 5 so that it can be opened to insert the strand of hair 3.
- the sleeve 3 can also be made in two parts and consist, for example, of two identical cylinder halves, which are provided along their adjoining surfaces with pins and these receiving holes or the like, which are inserted into one another with a clamp fit.
- a hinge-like connection of the two sleeve halves is also conceivable, in that the sleeve is made, for example, of plastic, is provided with a longitudinal slot running parallel to the axis 5, and is formed on the diametrically opposite side as a wall section so thin that two sleeve halves which can be opened up around this wall section are formed.
- the device also has a holder 6 for the rotatable mounting of an annular disk 7, to which a motor 8 is assigned so that it can be rotated.
- a bobbin 9 with a thread winding 10 or a winding made of a band, strip, wire or the like is mounted, which is rotatable about an axis of rotation 11 is.
- a guide element 12 is also attached to the disc 7, which e.g. consists of an eyelet at the free end of a bracket 13 through which a thread 14, wire or the like which is unwound from the bobbin 9 runs.
- the holder 6 has a sleeve-like holding body 15 with a central opening, the inner cross-section of which corresponds to the outer cross-section of the sleeve 2 and which serves to receive it with a slight clamping fit.
- the holding body 15 On its outside, the holding body 15 has a projection 16 and a snap ring 17, between which the one bearing body of a bearing 18 arranged in the central opening of the disk 7 is held axially immovably, the other Bearing body is attached to the disc 7.
- the bearing 18 consists, for example, of a ball or needle bearing.
- the holding body 15 has a length in the axial direction which, for example, corresponds only to approximately half the length of the sleeve 2, and supports the bearing 18 and the disk 7 at its end facing the guide element 12. From a central part of the holding body 15, an annular disk 19 connected to the latter protrudes radially outwards and carries, for example, a cylindrical housing part 20 which encloses all other parts of the device.
- the motor 8 is supported on the annular disk 19 or on the housing part 20 and has a drive shaft 21, preferably parallel to the axis 5 and projecting through the annular disk 19, to which a pinion 22 is attached. This pinion meshes with a toothing which is formed on a raised edge 23 of the disk 7.
- the coil 9 is fastened to a shaft 26 which extends through the disk 7 and is held axially immovable on both sides thereof by means of snap rings 27 or the like.
- the shaft 26 is rotatably supported in the disk 7, its axis of rotation 11 preferably being arranged parallel to the axis 5.
- the housing of the device according to the invention formed by the holding body 15, the washer 19 and the housing part 20 has a cover 28 at one end, which can preferably be detachably fastened to the housing part 20 by means of a snap or clamp connection (not shown) and a central opening with an outer cross section the sleeve 2 has the corresponding internal cross section.
- a protective ring 29 is fastened to the housing part 20, which tapers towards its free end, has only a small opening 30 suitable for the passage of the strand of hair 3, the movement path of the guide elements 12 encloses and how the cover 28 is preferably releasably attached to the housing part 20.
- the sleeve 2 has at least one resilient snap hook 31 with an undercut nose, which limits the axial displaceability of the sleeve 2 in the holding body 15 by laying on the surface of the cover 28.
- the snap hooks 31 are designed to be resilient in such a way that the sleeve 2 in FIG. 3 can be pushed from below through the holding body 15, which preferably has an insertion bevel 32 for this purpose. After the snap hooks 31 have reached the position shown in FIG. 3, they snap behind the edge of the cover 28. In this axial position of the sleeve 2, its opposite end is arranged close to the opening 30 of the protective ring 29.
- the guide element 12 is then arranged somewhat outside and below the lower end of the sleeve in FIG. 3, so that it can freely execute a rotational movement around the strand of hair 3 inserted into the sleeve 2, the axis of rotation preferably being the axis 5, and the strand of hair 3 not touched.
- the operation of the device described is as follows:
- the sleeve 2 is first pulled out of the holder 6 by correspondingly pushing in the snap hooks 31 by hand or the sleeve 2 is simply pulled up out of the holding body 15 in FIG. 3. Then the strand of hair 3 is inserted into the sleeve 2, which is particularly simple if the sleeve 2 consists of two detachably connected parts as described above or can at least be opened. Subsequently, the sleeve 2 is inserted with the snap hooks 29 first into the end of the holding body 15 having the insertion bevel 32 and pushed into it until the snap hooks 31 snap behind the cover 28. Finally, the entire device is advanced in the direction of the scalp 4 by holding the outer end of the strand of hair 3 by hand until the opening 30 of the protective ring 29 is in the immediate vicinity thereof is arranged. The device is now ready for the winding process.
- the winding process is initiated in that the motor 8 is switched on with a switch 25 attached to the outside of the housing part 20, which is preferably a push-button switch.
- the disk 7 begins to rotate about its axis of rotation, preferably coinciding with the axis 5, as a result of which the bobbin 9 and the thread guide element 12 are guided around the strand of hair 3 held in the sleeve 2. If at the same time the free end of the thread 14 is held by hand at the height of the hairline, then this has a continuous unwinding of the thread 14 from the bobbin 9 and a winding of the strand of hair 3 to the fogle, as indicated schematically in the lower part of FIG. 3 is.
- the entire device is now gradually pulled away from the scalp 4.
- the guide element 12 travels in the axial direction along the strand of hair 3, while it is in a rotating movement at the same time, until the strand 14 is completely wrapped with the thread 14 and just lies with its tip in the sleeve 2.
- the thread 14 is now cut off, as a result of which the spiral winding process is ended.
- the free thread ends are then knotted in the usual way. Because of the snap hooks 31 there is no danger during the winding process that the sleeve 2 is pulled out of the holding body 15 in the axial direction due to an insufficient clamping fit.
- the device described can also be used in a corresponding manner for wrapping the hair of a wig.
- the winding speed ie the speed of the disc 7
- the pitch of the spiral wrap can be preselected by appropriate dimensioning of the axial speed with which the sleeve 2 is pulled over the strand of hair 3.
- a brake 33 arranged between the guide element 12 and the bobbin 9 is expediently provided, which is also fastened to the disk 7.
- a further brake can be provided for the coil 9 and, for example, act on the shaft 26.
- the motor 8 is preferably a DC motor operated with a voltage of 9 volts, which according to FIG. 4 is connected to a circuit for regulating its speed. 4, a circuit with a voltage regulator 34 (module L200 from SGS ATES, based in Waltham, MA, USA) is preferably provided.
- the connection No. 1 of the voltage regulator 34 is connected via the switch 25 to the positive pole of the battery 24, the negative pole of which is connected directly to the connection No. 3 of the voltage regulator 34 and the one connection of the motor 8 and via a resistor R1 of 820, for example Ohm is connected to connection No. 4 of the voltage regulator 34.
- the other connection of the motor 8 is connected directly to the connection No.
- connection No. 4 of the voltage regulator 34 via a potentiometer R2 of, for example, ten kilohms to the connection No. 4 of the voltage regulator 34.
- the connections No. 2 and 5 of the voltage regulator 34 are short-circuited, while its connections No. 1 and No. 3 are connected by a capacitor C1 of, for example, 0.22 ⁇ F.
- the motor 8 can be connected to different voltages via connection no. 2 of the voltage regulator, which result in a corresponding change in speed.
- the potentiometer R2 is preferably attached to the outside of the holder 6 in the vicinity of the switch 25. Instead of the circuit shown, simple circuits with resistors and potentiometers or transistor circuits can also be provided.
- the invention is not limited to the preferred exemplary embodiment described, which can be modified in many ways.
- the sleeve 2 can, like the disk 7, for example, be made of metal, wood or the like, preferably made of plastic, and for the treatment of very long hair with a Snap hook 31 and its upper end (Fig.3) projecting portion.
- a Snap hook 31 and its upper end (Fig.3) projecting portion instead of the internal toothing of the disk 7 shown, provision can be made to provide the edge 23 of the disk 7 with an external toothing.
- the pinion 22 acting directly on the disk 7, other gears such as V-belt, toothed belt, chain drives or the like can also be provided.
- a bobbin 9 are preferably spools of thread, as they are commonly used in sewing machines.
- the motor 8 can be provided to provide the motor 8 with a connecting cable and a mains plug in order to be able to connect it to a conventional power supply system. It would also be possible to feed the motor 8 by means of bicycle dynamos, with solar or wind energy or the like, which would be expedient in particular for countries in the third world where the required batteries or power grids are not always available. Furthermore, instead of an electric motor, a mechanical motor could also be provided, which, for example, has a mechanical drive, driven by a wind-up spring, similar to a clockwork.
- the invention is not limited to the wrapping of strands of hair, but can be applied to other elongated objects, e.g. Threads, strips, tapes, strands or the like made of textile materials, wire, plastic or the like or pipes, rods or the like can be used. It is also possible to leave the device at a standstill and to pull the object to be wrapped through the sleeve 2. Furthermore, instead of textile threads 14, other materials such as tapes, strips or the like made of plastic, wire, etc. can also be used to wrap the objects. Finally, a plurality of bobbins 9 and guide elements 12 can also be attached to the disk 7 in order to optionally wrap the objects simultaneously with a plurality of threads or the like.

Description
The invention relates to a device for wrapping elongated objects such as thread, strip, strand, tube or rod-shaped materials, in particular strands of hair with at least one winding material in the form of a thread, strip, ribbon or the like.
In Africa and some other countries, there were and are traditional hairstyles composed of wrapped strands of hair in many different variations. At least in Africa itself, the production of these hairstyles is a highly developed art, which until today has only been done by manual means.
The basis of these hairstyles is formed by individual hair strands or strands of hair, which are first wrapped spirally with a thread and then grasped, laid and connected to the actual hairstyle. In the accompanying drawing, FIG. 1 shows a number of
Wrapping the strands of hair with a thread is very time consuming, regardless of whether acquaintances and friends or hairdressers are commissioned with it. It is not uncommon for three hours and more to wrap the strands of hair for a single hairstyle. The preparation of such a hairstyle is therefore not only time-consuming, but also involves considerable costs when visiting a professional hairdressing salon.
The invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned, in particular for Wrapping strands of hair with a thread is suitable. This device should not only shorten the actual winding process considerably, but also make it possible to carry it out with a uniformity comparable to manual winding.
Further advantageous features of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
The invention has the advantage that the winding process with a device in which the strand of hair to be wrapped is inserted can be carried out semi-automatically by simply switching on a drive motor and then moving the entire device gradually from the hairline in the direction of the hair tips . With the device according to the invention, the duration of the winding process can be shortened many times compared to the previous winding duration.

An essential part of the device according to the invention is a sleeve 2, which is used to hold an unwound, elongated Object, for example a strand of
The device also has a
In the preferred embodiment shown, the
The
The housing of the device according to the invention formed by the
At its upper end in FIG. 3, the sleeve 2 has at least one
To wrap the strand of
The winding process is initiated in that the motor 8 is switched on with a
So that the strand of
The device described can also be used in a corresponding manner for wrapping the hair of a wig.
The winding speed, ie the speed of the
The invention is not limited to the preferred exemplary embodiment described, which can be modified in many ways.
