Abstract

The “Dreador” is a energy saving, novel design, durable, lightweight, compact and portable It is a hairstyling
Tool that would ease the task of tightening, locking, and sealing dreadlocks. It would offer greater control while twisting hair into
Dreadlocks. This tool would provide a more attractive and professional result. The “Dreador” is approximately 3 inches in width and about
5 inches in length and ½ an inch thick. It has a worm screw in the center of the apparatus, it also has teeth near the handles that interlock
For clamping hair, it also has rubber pads for gripping hair while twisting it and a swivel nob for this two step process. Dreador would be
wrought from aluminum alloy using hammer forging or drop forging alloyed with zinc, copper or nickel for strength and corrosion.
A manufacturer would determine the most effective forging process.

Description

  • 1. A hair grooming device that comprises
  • a) two handles like surgical clamps attached to an auger and auger housing refer to drawing 1 of 3. In this drawing the number (3) shows the auger housing in which the apparatus operates.
  • b) in the the drawings FIG. 2) indicates the auger which is a worm like screw that rotates the clamps which grips the hair.
      • C) in the drawings FIG. 4) indicates the rubber padded grips which grip the hair these pads hold the hair secure while the hair is being rotated in the twisting motion forming the dread lock this is accompanied by the use of bees wax to assure the locking process.
  • d) in the drawing 1 of 3 FIG. 5) indicates the spindle attached to the auger via a screw attached through the top of the auger screw. This spindle is held when the selected portion of hair has been properly clamped by the apparatus, a gentle pull causes the auger housing to rotate around producing the same results as hand twisting.
  • e) in the drawing of 1 of 3 FIG. 6) indicates the locking teeth which hold the handles together while the hair is being twisted there are a set of teeth one on each of the handles.
  • f) in the drawing of 2 of 3 FIG. 7) indicates studs which fit into the handles holding the auger to the handles securely.
  • G) in the drawing of 2 of 3 FIG. 8) indicates the hole(s) in the handles that the auger attaches to for a three step process that locks the hair.
  • 1. Handle made of aluminum with interlocking teeth with
  • rubber pads on the opposite end of finger grips.
  • 2. Aluminum thread with cap that swivels or twists.
  • 3. Inner inclined circular threading device used to incline and decline handle clamps.
  • 4. Rubber clamping pads to secure hair while twisting hair
  • 5. Swivel grip which rotates for twisting action
  • Refer to Drawings of the corresponding numbers
  • 6. Teeth for interlocking handle clamps.
  • 7. Mounting studs for handle clamps
  • 8. Hole for handles
