Definitions
- the present invention relates to a landfill box with a lid for removable installation in kitchen furniture.
- Landfill boxes of this type are usually tiltable or extendable built into the body of the kitchen furniture, their lid is usually fixed either on the box itself or on the furniture body so that it automatically opens the box opening when the box is opened (by tipping forward, swiveling out or pulling out). If the lid is fixed to the furniture body itself and is thus completely separated from the box in the open position, there is a risk that rubbish will fall into the furniture cavity behind the landfill box; in addition, the necessary lid lifting mechanisms are usually complicated. If the lid is hinged directly to the landfill box, there is always a risk of damage to the lid hinge when the box is removed for emptying and cleaning, the lid remaining on the box considerably interferes with the handling of the box. If a waste collection sack is to be used in the box, a separate sack holder is usually provided, which also fixes the opening edge of the sack on the box edge when the lid is open.
- the present invention aims to create a landfill box of the type mentioned, the lid of which, with the simplest construction and handling, fully fulfills all the necessary functions, such as tight closing in the closed position, simple opening, bag holder and removability.
- the landfill box is characterized according to the invention in that the lid has a frame which is removably placed on a neck part of the box delimiting the box opening and which encompasses this neck part by means of a circumferential collar, with an edge seal provided on the rear frame edge which is closed with the box opening at least approximately aligned frame opening closing flap.
- the cover frame provided with the all-round collar which can also serve as a bag holder, forms a unit with the cover flap. This can be easily lifted from the box when the lid flap is closed to empty the box removed from the furniture body or to remove the sack, while only the lid flap has to be swung up to fill garbage into the box moved into its filling position; locking means can also be provided around the flap in its open position to lock temporarily. Furthermore, releasable holding means can be provided, which hold the lid frame firmly on the neck part of the box and thereby clamp the sack edge placed over this neck part in this position.
- a landfill box 2 is installed in the body 1 of a piece of kitchen furniture.
- This box 2 which has a rectangular cross-section, is detachably fixed to the inside of the front panel 1 a of the furniture body 1 by means of strips 3 a and 3 b of its front wall 3 projecting up and down.
- This front sheet 1a is hinged at 4 with its lower edge to the front edge of the bottom 1b of the furniture body. Front sheet 1a and thus the landfill box 2 fixed to it can be tilted forward from the closed position shown in FIG. 1, for example, as indicated by scissors at 5, into an open position, as is indicated in FIG. 1 by dashed lines .
- the landfill box 2 has a neck portion delimiting the filling opening 6, the front wall 7a of which is spaced from the front wall 3 of the box to form an upwardly open channel, and the rear wall 7b of the neck portion protrudes obliquely inwards, while the side walls are vertical. Since the landfill box 2 shown here is installed in a furniture compartment having a sink 8, the upper edge of the neck area delimiting the filling opening 6 is chamfered to the rear.
- a lid 9 is removably placed on the neck.
- This cover 9 has a frame 9a resting on the opening edge of the neck area with a circumferential collar 9b which fits around the neck area.
- the frame opening 10, which is approximately aligned with the filling opening 6, is closed off by a lid flap 11, which is hinged to the frame 9a at its edge remote from the front wall 3, as shown at 11a.
- the front and side walls of the lid flap 11 are designed as sealing strips 11b resting on the frame 9a, e.g. made of rubber.
- a metal hinge 11a e.g. piano hinge
- a rubber strip corresponding to the sealing strips 11b on the one hand on the edge of the lid flap and on the other hand on the frame 9a can be provided to form the joint.
- a clamping spring 13 is attached which, when the lid flap 11 is opened with the box 2 tilted forward, can be pressed onto a crossbar or tube 14 arranged in the furniture body, in order to temporarily fix the lid flap 11 in its open position.
- a rubbish bag is 15 in the box 2 used, its opening edge is turned inside out over the neck of the box and is thus clamped in this position by the lid 9.
- tension springs 16 are attached to the side parts of the collar 9b in the example shown, the other end of which can be detachably attacked by bolts which are provided on the outside of the box walls.
- the lid 9 only needs to be removed to remove the filled rubbish bag when the box is tipped over or when the landfill box 2 is removed from the front wall 3 and removed from the furniture, which (after the springs 16 have been removed) by simply lifting the lid 9 when the lid flap 11 is closed can be done.
- the lid according to the invention with a collar having a collar, on the rear side of which a lid flap is articulated is suitable for landfill boxes of practically any shape, size and arrangement.
- the box and lid can be made entirely or partially of metal, wood or plastic, and since the lid is completely independent of the furniture itself, the box can not only be tilted as shown, but also pivotable or extendable in the furniture body.
- the landfill box 2 forms a single compartment, the opening 6 of which is correspondingly closed with a single lid flap 11. But it is of course also possible to square the box to the front Divide vertical walls into two or more compartments.
- the frame placed on the neck of the box can also have a single lid flap or, depending on the number of compartments, several lid flaps, which can thus be operated individually, can be provided.
- tension members such as cords, springs or the like when the dumpster box is tilted, pulled or pivoted into its open position.
- a horizontal rod or spring fixed to the side walls of the furniture can be provided in the upper, rear furniture part, on which cords or tension springs connected to the front part of the lid flap or lid flaps act.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a landfill box with a lid for removable installation in kitchen furniture.
Landfill boxes of this type are usually tiltable or extendable built into the body of the kitchen furniture, their lid is usually fixed either on the box itself or on the furniture body so that it automatically opens the box opening when the box is opened (by tipping forward, swiveling out or pulling out).
In contrast, the present invention aims to create a landfill box of the type mentioned, the lid of which, with the simplest construction and handling, fully fulfills all the necessary functions, such as tight closing in the closed position, simple opening, bag holder and removability.
For this purpose, the landfill box is characterized according to the invention in that the lid has a frame which is removably placed on a neck part of the box delimiting the box opening and which encompasses this neck part by means of a circumferential collar, with an edge seal provided on the rear frame edge which is closed with the box opening at least approximately aligned frame opening closing flap.
The cover frame provided with the all-round collar, which can also serve as a bag holder, forms a unit with the cover flap.
- 1 in a vertical cross section through a kitchen furniture, a built-in landfill tip with a removable landfill box,
- 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1 with the furniture cover sheet removed,
- Fig. 3 is a side view of the landfill box with lid according to FIG. 1, and
- Fig. 4 graphically shows the landfill box with the lid removed with the lid flap open.
The
As in the example shown, a rubbish bag is 15 in the
Construction, assembly and handling of the described landfill box and in particular its lid are very simple. The
It is readily apparent that the lid according to the invention with a collar having a collar, on the rear side of which a lid flap is articulated, is suitable for landfill boxes of practically any shape, size and arrangement. The box and lid can be made entirely or partially of metal, wood or plastic, and since the lid is completely independent of the furniture itself, the box can not only be tilted as shown, but also pivotable or extendable in the furniture body. In the example described, the
