Description

The invention relates to a process for the production of profiled bodies from dry or low-moisture glued fibers by filling into the press space of a plate press consisting at least of the upper press part and the lower press part and subsequent compression in the plate press, the glued fibers being passed in an air stream in the closed, The size of the press bulk space corresponding to the bulk volume of the profile body is blown in, which has at least one blowing opening and at least one blowing opening covered with a sieve, and the glued fibers are then compressed by moving the upper press part in the direction of the lower press part.

Such a method is known (DE-B-16 53 194). In the known method, the glued fibers are blown in an air stream into the space formed by the lower press part and a screen arranged thereon. This method requires more equipment because the screen has to be transported back and forth before and after pressing a profile body.

The fibers can, for example, be a fibrous material which is produced from particles containing cellulose or lignocellulose in such a way that they are digested with steam, hot water or weak alkalis and defibrated in defibrators and then dried. However, other fibers, such as glass fibers, can also be processed with the method according to the invention.

It is known from such fibers, which have previously been glued with thermosetting synthetic resins, to produce thin-walled plates or profile bodies in thicknesses of 1 to 5 mm for use in vehicle construction, in the furniture industry or in the electrical engineering industry.

In the production of the profile body, for example, in the known methods the procedure is such that only slightly compressed, flat mats are produced, which are then pressed in a second operation in a press with simultaneous supply of heat to the finished profile body. In another known method for producing the thin-walled profile body, it is assumed that the fiberboard is already fully cured. These are softened again by applying moisture and heat and then pressed into the finished profile body in a press.

This known production process for fiber profile bodies is very complex both from a technical and an economic point of view, and the deformability of the intermediate products is also considerably restricted. It would therefore be a major technical improvement and thus an economic advantage if it were possible to direct profile bodies without the step via intermediate products to be made directly from glued fibers. This has not been possible until now because the glued fibers are extremely light and difficult to handle.

The object on which the invention is based is therefore to specify a method and an apparatus which make it possible to produce profile bodies from glued fibers directly and without major outlay on equipment.

This technical problem is solved according to the invention in that the upper press part is shaped such that it overlaps the lower press part on all sides and thus forms the press space, and that the injection opening and the blow-out opening are arranged in the side parts of the upper press part which overlap the lower press part, and in that the blowing process is carried out at press upper part placed on the lower press part.

Advantageous embodiments of the method according to the invention are contained in claims 2 and 3. The exemplary embodiment of a device for carrying out the method according to the invention is contained in claims 4 to 7 and explained below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. Show it :
Fig. 1

and Fig. 2

If the process according to the invention is to be used to produce profiled bodies which are not highly structured but are essentially flat, then the fibers can be blown into the volume in a uniform or deliberately non-uniform distribution and pressed to the profiled body immediately after the volume has been filled. If, on the other hand, the profile bodies to be produced have a strongly structured shape or if they are to have different densities at different locations, it has proven to be expedient to glue the glued fibers in the press in which they were blown in only to a part of the desired final density compress it into a pre-compact, take it out of this press, insert it into a second press and finish it there with the addition of heat to final density. With this two-stage process, it is easily possible to produce the finished profile body with different densities. This can be done in a simple manner in that the pressing tools of the second press to the Places where the profile body is to be compressed more have a different shape than the pressing tools of the first press.

The exemplary embodiment of a device for carrying out the method according to the invention is illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2. The press shown has a fixed pressing tool lower part 1 and a pressing tool upper part 2, which can be moved in the direction of arrow 3 towards the pressing tool lower part 1 and away from it. In Fig. 1 the press is shown in the open state; then the volume 4 to be filled with the glued fibers is present between the pressing tool lower part 1 and the pressing tool upper part 2. This volume 4 is delimited on the left side by the injection opening 5, through which the glued fibers transported in a compressed air line are blown into the volume. On the right-hand side, the counterpart to the blowing opening, namely the blowing opening 7 closed with a sieve 6, can be seen, through which the air which is no longer required can be discharged or possibly even extracted.

From Fig. 2 it is clear that the press can be provided with several blow-out openings which are connected to a common exhaust line 8. The blow-out openings can be used in different ways to fill the fibers into the volume either uniformly or specifically non-uniformly (for the purpose of producing different densities in the profile body). For this purpose, they can have different cross sections, for example. However, it is also possible to provide the suction openings with devices, such as flaps, which allow the cross-section to be changed continuously. The same effect can be achieved by connecting suction devices with controllable negative pressure to the suction openings.

In Fig. 1 it can also be seen that the pressing tool lower part 2 is provided with a plurality of channels 9 of small cross-section, which are connected to the atmosphere, but can also be acted upon by compressed air. If the channels 9 are in connection with the atmosphere, then they prevent a vacuum formation below the pressed profile body, which prevent it from being released from the lower part of the pressing tool. If the channels 9 are pressurized with compressed air after the pressing process, then the pressed profile body is raised and can be easily removed from the press.
