Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a slicer wheel for a slicing machine.
  • the slicing machines include an automotive chassis, for example a tractor, on which is mounted a cutting wheel capable of being rotated and provided at its periphery with a plurality of tools for digging the ground.
  • the tools are either fixed directly to the periphery of the wheel, generally by welding, or fixed to removable crown portions regularly distributed around the periphery of the wheel, said portions being bolted to said wheel.
  • the first case prohibits the replacement of a broken tool or the change of types of tools by others, depending on the nature of the terrain encountered. It is then necessary to change the entire wheel.
  • the present invention overcomes these drawbacks and relates to a slicer wheel, the assembly and disassembly of the removable crown portions carrying the tools are carried out easily and quickly.
  • the slicer wheel according to the invention of the type in which the tools are mounted on crown portions removably fixed to the periphery of said wheel, the means for fixing each crown portion on the periphery of said wheel comprising a first set of two end faces, provided respectively at the ends of said crown portion, is characterized in that said fixing means comprise:
  • the fixing of said portion is achieved by the introduction of the key in the space defined between one of the end faces of the first assembly and one of the abutment faces of the second assembly causing the other end face of said first assembly to come into contact under pressure against the other face of stop of the second set, so as to allow blocking by jamming of said crown portion.
  • the two end faces of the first set are inclined so as to converge towards the convexity of said crown portion.
  • the inclinations of the two end faces of said first set are symmetrically identical with respect to a median perpendicular plane to said portion of the crown.
  • the two abutment faces of the second set are inclined so as to converge from outside the periphery of the wheel, one of the abutment faces of the second set having an inclination corresponding to that of one of the end faces of the first set, while the other abutment face of said second set has a different inclination than that of the other end face of said first set, the space separating the last two faces widening towards the outside of the periphery of the wheel.
  • the two abutment faces of the second set each belong to integral corners of said periphery.
  • said key has two lateral sides of corresponding inclination, one with that of the cooperating end face of the first set and the other with that of the cooperating stop face of the second set.
  • said key In order to increase the security of the fixing, said key, once introduced into the space delimited between said faces of different inclination, is held in position on said periphery by a retaining member.
  • a key is provided in said key. opening in which an element may be introduced to eject it out of the periphery of the wheel.
  • Said tools arranged on each removable crown portion mounted on the periphery of the wheel are either rock tools or ground tools.
  • said tools arranged on each removable crown portion are both rock tools and earth tools.
  • the invention also relates to a cutting wheel remarkable in that said portions carrying the tools are mounted in an annular groove formed at the periphery of the wheel, each corner comprising one of said abutment faces of the second assembly being mounted in said groove.
  • the invention relates to a remarkable slicing machine in that it comprises at least one slicer wheel as defined above.
  • the trencher wheel according to the invention is intended to make trenches in the ground. It is capable of being driven in rotation by drive means known per se but not shown.
  • This slicer wheel consists of a substantially flat circular flange 1 mounted to rotate about its axis 2. As shown more in FIGS. 2 to 4, at the periphery 3 of the flange 1, it is arranged, parallel and coaxial with it , a ring 6 secured to said flange by means of a lateral hoop 4 welded to one face of the flange 1. An annular groove 7 is then defined between the ring 6 and the part 5 of the face of the flange 1 in correspondence with the ring 6, the hoop 4 forming the bottom of the groove 7.
  • removable crown portions 8 preferably identical and regularly distributed over the periphery 3 of the flange 1, are capable of being arranged in the annular groove 7.
  • Tools 10, intended for digging the ground, are mounted on the face convex 11 of each of the crown portions 8.
  • supports 13 On the concave face 12 of each of them are provided supports 13 able to come to bear against the bottom of the groove 7 during the mounting of each portion 8.
  • Each portion of the removable crown 8 has two end faces 14A and 14B situated respectively at the ends of each of the portions. These two end faces 14A and 14B, defining a first set, are inclined to converge towards the convexity of each portion, that is to say towards the outside of the wheel. In addition, these two faces 14A and 14B are orthogonal to the plane of the wheel and, advantageously, have a symmetrically identical inclination with respect to the median perpendicular plane to each portion.
  • wedges 16 are arranged integrally by welding. More precisely, these corners 16 are positioned two by two, so that a portion of crown 8 can be introduced between two corners of the same couple in this case 16A and 16B. The length of the arc separating the two corners is greater than that of the corresponding crown portion 8.
  • each pair of corners 16A and 16B, each arranged on either side of a portion of crown 8, has two inclined abutment faces, respectively 17A and 17B.
  • each removable crown portion 8 in the groove 7 of said wheel is achieved by the cooperation of the first set of end faces 14A and 14B of a crown portion in the second set of faces of abutment 17A and 17B of a corresponding corner pair and by the interposition of a key 20 in said space 18 mentioned above.
  • the key 20 then has two lateral sides 21 and 22, one of which, 21, has an inclination identical to that of the face 14B of the crown portion 8, and the other of which, 22, has an inclination identical to that from face 17B of corner 16B.
  • the assembly and the fixing of a portion of crown 8 is carried out as follows: the portion 8 is introduced by the concave face 12 between the ring 6 and the part 5 of the flange defining the sides of the groove 7 until the supports 13 rest on the hoop 4 secured to the flange 1, and corresponding to the bottom of the groove 7.
  • the crown portion 8 is moved towards the corner 16A so that the face 14A and the face 17A of identical inclinations are disposed substantially opposite one another.
  • the insertion of the key 20 is thus facilitated since the space 18 separating the faces 14B and 17B is almost maximum.
  • the key 20 is then inserted into this space 18 so that its lateral sides 21 and 22 come into contact with the faces 14B and 17B respectively. Then, the key 20 is forced into place by means of a tool such as a hammer in the space 18, which has the consequence of displacing the portion of crown 8 against the corner 16A secured to at least one side of the throat. Thus, the face 14A is applied under pressure against the face 17A.
  • a retaining member 23 connects the key to the sides of the groove. More precisely, as shown in FIG. 4, an orifice 24 drilled in each of the keys comes opposite coaxial orifices 25 and 26, respectively made in some, 25, in part 5 of the flange 1 and the others, 26, in the ring 6.
  • the orifices 24, 25 and 26 are substantially coaxial, and the retaining member 23, such as a pin, is then pressed into its orifices to maintain and lock in position said key. Each key is thus held in its position.
  • the slicer wheel is then ready to operate.
  • each key is provided with an opening 29 allowing the insertion of an element therein for ejecting said key.
  • opening 29 Prior to dismantling a portion of crown 8, for example to replace it with another portion, it is necessary to remove the corresponding pin 23.
  • the tools 10 fixed on the convex face 11 of each of the removable crown portions 8 are either knives 31 intended for digging soft ground (earth, sand, etc.), or peaks 32 intended for digging hard ground (stones, rocks, ).
  • each corner could include an inclined abutment face 17A on which the inclined end face 14A of a first portion of the crown 8 is pressed and an inclined abutment face 17B, opposite the previous one, on which is pressed against the lateral side 22 of the key wedging a second portion of the crown contiguous to the first portion of the crown.
