Method for avoiding frauds in electronic taximeters (1) which comprise a non-volatile read/ write memory (4), storing tariff data, which memory can be programmed by means of a programming set (9), characterized in that each programming set is equipped with a meter (15) counting up the number of taximeter reprogrammations carried out with said programming set, an identification number identifying said programming set is written in one part of the memory of said set and the central unit of said programming set is programmed for recording, in the read/write memory (4); of each taximeter, during the reprogrammation of said memory, said set identification number in the place of the previously recorded identification number and the sequence number recorded in said meter (15), and in that said taximeters are equipped with means for displaying or printing the identification number and the sequence number recorded in the memory of the taximeter.

Device for avoiding frauds in electronic taximeters which comprise a non-volatile read/write memory (4), storing tariff data, which memory can be reprogrammed by means of a programming set (9), characterized in that each programming set (9) comprises a meter (15) counting up the number of taximeter reprogrammations and a read-only memory containing an identification number identifying said set and each taximeter comprises, in the read/write memory (4), a place for recording, durign each programmation, the identification number of the set used and the sequence number recorded in said meter.

Electronic taximeter programming set of the type comprising a central uit (10), a non-volatile read/write memory (11), a keyboard (13) for erasing the contents of said memory and writing therein new tariff data and means (14) for successively connecting said set with a series of electronic taximeters (1), characterized in that it further comprises a meter (15) counting up a sequence number equal to the number of taximeters which have been reprogrammed by said set, a place in a read-only memory for recording an identification number for said set and means for transferring in each taximeter, during the reprogrammation thereof, said sequence number and said identification number.
