Description

The invention relates to a Bremnner for gaseous fuels with a mixer and a cylindrical, perforated burner jacket connected downstream of the mixer, which is closed at its end by a burner cover.

A burner of the type mentioned is known from US Pat. No. 1,026,982. This burner is intended to achieve a high burner output with a minimum of fuel and exhaust gas. In the meantime, further requirements have been placed on burners for gaseous fuels, which the known burner cannot meet: The burners should be able to be operated with gases of different qualities without changes to the burner having to be made when the gas quality changes. The burners should have great flame stability within the largest possible range of use for gases with different Wobbe indices.

The flame stability should be so great that load fluctuations of at least 39%, based on the nominal load, are possible.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a burner of the type mentioned, which has a high flame stability, so that it can be operated with gases, in particular natural gases, of different types.

To achieve this object, the burner according to the invention is characterized in that a connection piece which widens conically towards the burner jacket is provided in connection with the overstoichiometric premixing mixer, and that the hexagonally arranged passage openings of the burner jacket, the thickness of which is less than 0.5 mm, have a hydraulic diameter of 0.8 to 1.5 mm.

The main advantage of the invention is the achievement of the object. It is also advantageous that the exhaust gases from the burner have an extremely low NO x content due to the over-stoichiometric mixing of fuel gas and air. In addition, the burner is structurally simple and can be operated without cooling.

In a preferred embodiment, the narrow end of the transition piece encloses the bores of the mixer designed as a hole mixer, the hole circle diameter of which is smaller than the diameter of the burner jacket.

A coaxial mixture distribution plate, the thickness of which is at least 0.35 mm, is advantageously arranged within the burner jacket. It has holes whose hydraulic diameter is approximately 1 to 3 mm, preferably approximately 1 mm. This measure supports flame stability.

The mixture distribution plate also serves as a kickback protection. If the flames burning on the outside of the burner jacket blow back through this, a further blow back by the mixture distribution plate is prevented.

It is advantageous if the diameter of the mixture distribution plate is 20 to 40 mm smaller than the diameter of the burner jacket.

In particular for burners of higher output, it is advantageous if the mixture distribution plate tapers towards the burner cover.

It has proven to be particularly favorable if the cylindrical or the conical mixture distribution plate extends only over the area of the burner jacket adjacent to the burner cover. This promotes the uniformity of the flame pattern.

It is also advantageous that the burner jacket and the mixture distribution plate consist of aluminum-containing nickel-free chrome steel. The heat resistance is particularly good with this material.

  • Fig. 2 die Unteransicht des Mischers nach Fig. 2,
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of preferred exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the accompanying drawing. The drawing shows in:
  • 1 shows an embodiment of the burner according to the invention in section,
  • 2 is the bottom view of the mixer of FIG. 2,
  • Fig. 3 shows another embodiment of the burner according to the invention in section.

According to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the fuel gas flows through a gas nozzle 1 into a chamber 2 of a mixer 3 designed as a hole mixer. The combustion air is supplied to the chamber 2 with the aid of a blower (not shown). The mixture flows through holes 3 'and a conically widening transition piece 4 in a cylindrical burner jacket 5. The thickness of the burner jacket is less than 0.5 mm. The burner jacket 5 has hexagonally arranged passage openings, the hydraulic diameter of which is 0.8-1.5 mm. The hexagonal arrangement of the passage opening 6 achieves a high degree of perforation and thus a high specific exit surface load.

The burner has a burner cover 7 at the upper end. A coaxial mixture distribution plate 8 is arranged inside the burner casing 5 and tapers towards the burner cover 7. It is at least 0.35 mm thick and has holes 9, the hydraulic diameter of which is approximately 1 to 3 mm, preferably approximately 1 mm.

In the embodiment of the burner shown in FIG. 3, the cylindrical mixture distribution plate 8 does not extend over the entire burner jacket, but only over the area adjacent to the burner cover 7. The diameter of the mixture distribution plate 8 is 20 to 40 mm smaller than the diameter of the burner jacket 5.

In a manner not shown, there is the possibility of designing the mixture distribution plate 8 continuous according to FIG. 1 and conically forming the mixture distribution plate 8 arranged only in the area of the burner cover 7 according to FIG. 2.

In both embodiments, the burner jacket 5 and the mixture distribution plate 8 are made of 1.4725 (CrAl steel plate).
