Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a door or window sash made of wood, chipboard material or material that can be processed with wooden tools, with strip-shaped inserts made of metal, in particular aluminum, which are perpendicular to the door surface and extend vertically at least approximately over the entire height of the door or window sash.
Such door or window sashes are known from the German utility models G 84 19 410.3 and G 82 02 848.6.
Windows and doors made of wood or the like tend to warp when there are fluctuations in temperature and humidity, which are particularly seasonal. This applies particularly to exterior doors or windows which are exposed to very different moisture and temperatures on the inside and outside.
It is known to provide metallic inserts, in particular made of aluminum which can be machined with wooden tools, in order to avoid the described warping of the doors or windows.
The invention has for its object to develop a generic door or window sash such that the risk of warping the same is avoided with low manufacturing costs. The stability of the door or window should also be increased.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the inserts have at least partially sawtooth-shaped outer surfaces in horizontal section. The inserts designed in this way can be inserted with a precise fit in corresponding sack cuts in different inner layers of the door, so that they not only prevent warping of the door or window, but also promote the cohesion of the various components of the door or window.
In a preferred embodiment of the door or window sash according to the invention from laminated plates extending plane-parallel to the door surface, it is provided that the inserts on both sides of the interfaces between the plates protrude into pocket cuts that are formed in the plates.
If the door or window sash is formed from an outer and an inner cover layer with an intermediate core made of wood which is not particularly suitable for cover layers, the inserts preferably project from the inner surfaces of the cover layers into sack cuts which are formed in the core.
In the manufacture of door or window sashes formed in this way, the core for receiving the inserts does not have to be milled. It is sufficient if the outer surfaces are planed and simple sack cuts are made, into which the inserts can be inserted with a precise fit. The inserts are glued in the bag cuts.
The inserts according to the invention are particularly suitable for door or window sashes with outer and inner cover layers and a core made of wood, so-called stick wood, which is not very suitable for cover layers. A core made of laminated stick wood compensates for different tensions in the wood. The additional inserts provided to reinforce the wood prevent the door or window from warping due to external influences.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
