Description

The invention relates to a transport and braking mechanism in a labeling device of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1. With the help of the transport and braking mechanism, a label tape carrying self-adhesive labels is gradually pulled over a dispensing edge with the release of a self-adhesive label and stopped in the intermediate phases.

In a known transport and braking mechanism of this type (DE-PS 2 432 501) in the feed direction behind the dispensing edge is a frame-mounted, continuously driven drive roller and a counter-pressure roller that can be pressed against the drive roller with intermediate clamping of the empty return part of the label tape, as well as a feed direction in front of the Drive roller arranged, provided from a frame-fixed stopper and a counterpressure against which it can be pressed against it with intermediate clamps of the label tape. Furthermore, there is a lever fixed to the frame, which has a first lever arm carrying the counterpressure roller and a second lever arm carrying the counterpressure stopper and which can be pivoted back and forth between two end positions via a pneumatically triggerable actuating mechanism in such a way that in one end position the counterpressure roller is lifted off Counter pressure stopper is pressed against the drive roller and in the other end position the counter pressure stopper is pressed against the stopper when the counter pressure roller is lifted off. The tape brake with stopper and counterpressure stopper is arranged there in the feed direction in front of the dispensing edge, so it acts on the leading part of the label tape which is equipped with the self-adhesive labels. Depending on the equipment of the labeling device, it can happen that the label tape is exposed to a tensile load in the feed direction behind the tape brake, but still before the dispensing edge. Such tensile loads occur, for example, when the labels are embossed by the retracting embossing stamp which is still adhering to the labels. Such a tensile load in the known labeling device can lead to a loosening of the label tape in the area of the dispensing edge, which can lead to faults in the subsequent dispensing process. In order to avoid this, in the known labeling device the return part of the label tape must be kept taut by additional measures, such as, for example, by wrapping a continuously driven drive roller or by a pressure brush acting on the label tape in the area of the dispensing edge. Measures of this type lead to unnecessary wear of the label tape and are not sufficient for high tensile loads.

Proceeding from this, the invention has for its object to improve the known transport and braking mechanism of the type mentioned in such a way that the label tape is kept taut in the area of the dispensing edge in the braked state without wear.

To achieve this object, the combination of features specified in claim 1 is proposed. Further advantageous refinements and developments of the inventive concept result from the dependent claims.

The inventive arrangement of the tape brake makes it possible to subject the label tape to a tensile load when it is stopped without the label tape loosening in the area of the dispensing edge.

Verschleißanfällige Maßnahmen zur Bandstraffung werden dadurch entbehrlich.Wear-prone tape tightening measures are therefore unnecessary.

  • Fig. 1 ein Funktionsschema eines Transport- und Bremsmechanismus in der Antriebsstellung;
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown schematically in the drawing. Show it
  • Figure 1 is a functional diagram of a transport and braking mechanism in the drive position.
  • Fig. 2 shows a modified embodiment of a transport and braking mechanism.

The transport and braking mechanism shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is intended for a labeling device in which the leading part 8 ′ of a label tape equipped with self-adhesive labels 15 is pulled off from a supply roll (not shown) in the direction of the arrows 20. The forward part 8 'is first deflected on a deflection roller 16 and then passed through a band brake consisting of a stop 2 fixed to the frame and a counter pressure stop 3 to the dispensing edge 24 shown only in FIG. 2. Behind the dispensing edge 24, at which the self-adhesive labels 15 are released, the empty return part 8 "of the label tape is first fed through the tape brake again in the feed direction. The deflection rollers 16 and 17 ensure that the feed part 8 'and return part 8" of the label tape are in the area between stopper 2 and back pressure stopper 3 are aligned substantially parallel to each other. When the counterpressure stopper 3 is pressed against the stopper 2, the two belt parts 8 'and 8 "are thus held together.

Behind the tape brake, the return part 8 "of the label tape is guided past the drive roller 1, which is driven in the direction of arrow 22 and is driven in a fixed manner and at a constant speed, to a take-up roller (not shown). The speed of the drive roller 1 is controlled by an adjustable electric motor or by a control gear set.

The label tape is transported in the direction of the arrows 20 by means of the drive roller 1 in that the return 8 ″ is pressed against the peripheral surface of the drive roller 1 by a counter-pressure roller 11.

The counter pressure roller 11 is mounted on a first lever arm 5 'of a lever 6 which can be pivoted about the axis 10 fixed to the frame, on the second lever arm 5 ″ of which the counter pressure stopper 3 is arranged. The counter pressure stopper 3 or counter pressure roller 11 is actuated with the aid of a pneumatically or electromechanically triggerable actuating mechanism 4, which is connected to the lever 6 via a control rod 7 and a joint 9 attached to the end thereof, which lever can thereby be pivoted back and forth between two end positions.

In one end position, the counterpressure stopper 3 is pressed against the stopper 2 when the counterpressure roller 11 is lifted off, with intermediate clamps of the forward part 8 'and the return part 8 ", while in the other end position, the counterpressure roller 11 is pressed against the drive roller when the counterpressure stopper 3 is lifted off, with intermediate clamps of the return part 8" 1 is pressed.

A brake layer 18 made of resilient material, such as rubber, on the stopper 2 and counter-pressure stopper 3 ensures reliable and uniform braking of the two band parts 8 ', 8 ".

The embodiment of FIG. 2 largely corresponds to that of FIG. 1. It is only modified to the extent that the deflection roller 17 is omitted and thus the forward part 8 'and the return part 8 "of the label tape over the entire distance between the deflection roller 16, band brake 2, 3rd and dispensing edge 24 are arranged at a small distance from one another essentially parallel to one another The dispensing edge 24 is arranged at the free end of a thin-walled table 26 which at the same time is designed as an abutment for a printing or embossing unit (not shown) which acts on the self-adhesive labels from above. The label tape is pulled over the dispensing edge 24 under deflection by 180 ° in such a way that the self-adhesive labels 15 detach from the tape due to their inherent rigidity.
