Description

The invention relates to a tape storage device according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a tape storage device is already known (US Pat. No. 3,770,221). The well-known tape storage or the like is for rolls of paper towels. certainly. The swivel bearing surface is separated from the insert's insert surface by one step. Protrusions for forming a braking device are arranged on the outer end face of the insert. The outer ends of the inserts are inserted into side hole blind holes, with the projections engaging the bottom of the blind holes. Inserting the tape roll into the side brackets requires that a side bracket be removed. The space required on both ends of the tape roll is large. Due to the difficult insertion in the holder, this arrangement is suitable for domestic use, but not for commercial use, especially when it comes to sanding belts.

Such abrasive belts stored in roll form can be rotatably supported and kept ready for pulling off the abrasive belt in that a rod, for example a suspended rod, is inserted through the passage opening of the belt roll, which, if necessary, rotatably supports the belt roll over an inner peripheral surface of the respective bearing insert. The bearing rod has a relatively large bearing play compared to the inner circumferential surface forming the pivot bearing surface, so that on the one hand there is a rather imprecise, oscillating mounting of the tape roll and on the other hand the sliding friction of the pivot bearing is so low that the tape roll after the tensile load on the running tape end has ended when pulling off an abrasive belt section to be cut, it still runs by a relatively large angle of rotation, which leads to undesired unwinding of the tape roll.

The invention has for its object to design a tape storage of the type mentioned in such a way that it can be used as an abrasive tape storage and an exact and well braked storage of the tape roll is possible in a simple manner.

This is achieved according to the invention in a tape storage device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the tape roll is formed by wound abrasive tape, and in that the rotary bearing surface is formed by the axial continuation of an insertion surface engaging in the inner surface of the through opening, delimited on at least one side by an annular collar and is arranged so that it is approximately adjacent to the end face of the tape roll. As a result, the tape roll can on a relatively large circumference of the pivot bearing surface and thus with a relatively large amount of friction, i.e. adequately braked and stored to protect against overrun Furthermore, the laborious insertion of a rod can be dispensed with for the storage of the tape reel, since it is readily possible to design the swivel bearing surface as the outer circumferential surface to support the tape reel simply by laying it on.

The design of the pivot bearing surface according to the invention ensures a small space requirement of the bearing inserts which extends beyond the outer limits of the abrasive belt, so that the belt reel is only slightly widened by these bearing inserts.

Although it is conceivable to form the abrasive storage exclusively by means of the wound belt roll in connection with one or two bearing inserts, it is particularly advantageous if the abrasive storage additionally has a support bearing adapted to the belt roll or the bearing inserts for easily removable or usable recording of the tape roll. This support bearing can be designed in a simple manner so that adjacent tape rolls do not touch each other when rotating and thus do not take them along in the unwinding direction, without requiring a significant additional space requirement. This support bearing expediently has bearing shells for receiving the pivot bearing surfaces, the radius of the bearing shells being able to be adapted to the diameter of the pivot bearing surfaces in such a way that the desired braking effect occurs when the bearing is exact. The support bearing can be provided in a simple manner for the reception of two or more, preferably coaxially adjacent to each other with a horizontal axis tape rolls, so that abrasive tape of different grain size can be kept next to each other.

Means can also be provided for the simple cutting off of the part of the abrasive belt which is in each case pulled off a roll of tape, this separating device being expediently arranged in such a way that it works essentially equally well with each roll diameter.

These and further features of preferred developments of the invention are also apparent from the description and the drawings, the individual features being able to be implemented individually or in groups in the form of sub-combinations in one embodiment of the invention and in other fields. An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and is explained in more detail below. The drawings show:
  • 1 shows an inventive abrasive belt storage, partly in axial section,
  • 2 shows a bearing insert of the sanding belt store according to FIG. 1 in a partially sectioned view of the outside,
  • 3 is a support bearing for several abrasive tape rolls of the abrasive tape storage,
  • 4 shows the support bearing according to FIG. 3 in side view,
  • Fig. 5 shows a detail of Fig. 3 in plan view and enlarged view.

The illustrated in Fig. 1, formed by a single tape roll 2 from wound abrasive tape of constant width, the belt store 1, which also has two or more tape rolls and additional 3 to 5, has in the center of the tape reel 2 an essentially cylindrical through opening 4 defined by a winding core, into which two one-piece bearing inserts 6 of the same design are inserted from both end faces 5, that they are at a distance from each other and are held independently of each other on the reel 2 solely by tensioning it. Each bearing insert 6 has a core part 7 which is designed as a sleeve-shaped rotary body and is slightly tapered towards its inner end and has an axial extension which is substantially smaller than its outer diameter and which can be provided with elevations, for example with axial rib-like projections, on the outer circumference for better securing against the inner surface of the passage opening 4 . Immediately following the largest diameter of the core part 7, two ring bundles 8, 9 which are spaced apart and project radially outward by as small a dimension as possible, which between them delimit an approximately rectangular or square ring groove with a width in the millimeter range. The inner collar 8 serves as a stop for the axial alignment of the bearing insert 6 with respect to the associated end face 5 of the tape roll 2; this stop can also be formed by individual projections distributed over the circumference or can be omitted entirely, so that the bearing insert 6 is aligned axially with respect to the tape roll 2 only by more or less deep insertion into the through opening 4. The outer annular collar 9, which lies at the outer end of the bearing insert 6 serving as an end cover or end shield, axially delimits a rotary bearing surface 10 formed by a rotating surface or the groove base of the annular groove at its end opposite the associated end face 5. Coaxially in the cup-shaped outer sleeve, but provided with openings in the bottom, the bearing insert has a cylindrical hub sleeve 11 supported by radial ribs, through which a support bearing in the form of a rod or the like can be inserted. The tape roll 2 can be inserted with the pivot bearing surface 10 or with the outer circumferential surface of at least one annular collar 8 or 9 into recessed cavities of two lateral bearing cheeks 13 of a support bearing, indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 1, that they can be pulled by pulling on the end of the band 14 can be rotated and on the other hand this rotation counteracts a relatively large braking force by friction, so that the tape reel 2 does not run on the running tape end 14 after lifting the train, but stops immediately.

The bearing cheeks 13 provided as end-side bearing supports are expediently arranged in the form of vertical dividing walls at the same intervals, freely protruding from a support or bracket, which can be formed by a plate-shaped rear wall 15 made of sheet metal and offset angular flanges on both sides as fastening members 16 Attachment to a wall, two rear supports of a shelving system or the like. In the exemplary embodiment shown, five bearing cheeks 13 are provided for accommodating four tape rolls, the two outermost of which lie in the region of the side boundaries of the support bearing 3 formed by the fastening members 16. On their front sides facing away from the rear wall 15, all bearing cheeks 13 are connected to one another via continuous profiled bars, so that a self-supporting frame construction of high strength results.

At least each of the bearing cheeks lying between the outermost bearing cheeks 13 has on its upper side two bearing shells 17 which are aligned with one another and lie directly next to one another and whose distance from the rear wall 15 is greater than from the front of the supporting bearing. The distance between the two bearing shells 17 of a bearing cheek 13 is only slightly larger than twice the thickness of an annular collar 9 of the bearing inserts 6, so that adjacent bearing inserts 6 of two adjacent belt rolls 2 with their mutually facing end faces can be spaced apart from one another in a very small space-saving manner. For better accessibility of the bearing inserts and for simplified production, all bearing cheeks 13 are of the same design. Each bearing cheek 13 is formed by two parallel, mirror-symmetrical walls 18 consisting of sheet metal plates, the distance from one another being equal to the distance between their bearing shells 17. These walls 18 are offset or cranked between the bearing shells 17 and the rear wall 15 at their upper edges and in the region of an upper, inclined part of the front edge of the bearing cheek 13 lying in front of the bearing shells 17 and with these cranked edge strips 19, for example by spot welding, attached to each other. Above their horizontal lower edges, the walls 18 can have inwardly projecting, for example knob-shaped, spacing projections 20 with which they abut one another and which can also be fastened to one another by spot welding. As a result, each bearing cheek 13 forms a hollow chamber component which is open in the region of the bearing shells 17 and in the region of its underside in accordance with the distance between the walls 18 and is of high strength and low weight. Both walls 18 of the central bearing cheeks 13 and the inner walls 18 of the two outermost bearing cheeks 13 form outwardly angled fastening legs 21 which extend almost over their entire height and with which the bearing cheeks 13 are fastened to the rear wall 15 by spot welding or the like. The outer walls 18 of the two outer bearing cheeks 13 are continued over their rear ends in their plane to the rear and are fastened to the remote fastening member 16 by welding or the like.

Each bearing shell 17 forms a partially circular, in particular at most semicircularly limited, concave running and braking surface 22 for the engagement of the pivot bearing surface 10 of the associated bearing insert 6, the width of the pivot bearing surface 6 being adapted to the sheet thickness in the area of the respective bearing surface 22 such that it into this with engages relatively little axial play. The radius of the tread 22, which can also be formed by individual, spaced-apart projections, is practically equal to half the diameter of the pivot bearing surface 10, so that uniform contact with the pivot bearing surface 10 is ensured over the circumference of the tread 22. To the rear of the bearing cheek 13, each tread 22 merges tangentially into a vertically upward adjoining edge 23 which adjoins the associated edge strip 19 and extends approximately to a height above the lowest point of the tread 22, which is the same as its diameter. The boundary of the tread 22 lying towards the front ends approximately at the level of its central axis 12. When a tape roll 2 is inserted, it can be struck from the front with its bearing inserts against the boundary edges 23 and then brought into engagement with the treads 22 by lowering.

Den Befestigungsschenkeln 21 entsprechende Befestigungsschenkel 28 tragen die Profilstäbe 29, 30.The connecting rods 13 on the front side, which are connected by their lower edges and are essentially formed by angle profiles, are designed as a separating device 24 for the running tape ends 14 of the tape rolls 2, with two protruding angled legs providing a continuous deduction over the width of the support bearing 3 - Form or pass slot 25 for the tape ends 14, which is narrowed like a funnel in the draw-off direction and is located directly above a length measuring device 26. The lower longitudinal recess of the take-off slot 25, which is set back from the upper limit, is serrated or serrated to form a tear-off edge 27, so that the tape end 14 can be neatly separated by pressure downward against the tear-off edge 27 and can thus be detached from the tape roll 2. The fastening legs 28 corresponding fastening legs 28 carry the profile bars 29, 30.

One length measuring device 26 is provided in the area of the bearing cheeks adjacent to the outermost bearing cheeks 13, that is to say in the area of every second bearing cheek, so that the respective length measuring device 26 can be used for two adjacent tape rolls 2. The respective length measuring device 26 has a measuring rod 31 lying approximately at right angles to the rear wall 15 between the associated walls 18 of the support cheek 13, which is displaceably mounted in its longitudinal direction in a guide bracket 32 serving as a plain bearing on the front of the support cheek 13. The guide bracket 32 is fastened at the protruding angle of the lower profile bar 30, the upright leg of which has a further slide opening for the measuring rod 31, which is opposite the sliding opening in the guide bracket 32 at a short distance, in such a way that, due to its bearing play in the extended state, it also has transverse movements with respect to its direction of displacement execute and can be easily held together with the tape end 14. The rear end of the measuring rod 31 formed by a wire section is angled to form a stop 33. This stop 33 is used by abutment on the rear wall 15 both to limit the stop of the inserted position and by stop on the profile bar 30 to limit the stop of the extended position. In the inserted position, the front end of the measuring rod 31 projects so far freely over the front side of the guide bracket 32 that it can be gripped comfortably for pulling out. In the extended state, the measuring rod 31 projects beyond the tear-off edge 27 by the amount which corresponds to the length of an abrasive belt section as is usually required for use on sliders or orbital sanders. Characterized in that the space between adjacent bearing cheeks 13 is freely accessible from below, the running end of the tape 14 of the respective tape roll 2 can be easily gripped from below and pushed through the trigger slot 25.
