Definitions
- the invention relates to a covering for repairing worn stairs according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a covering is known from DE-GM 84 07 239. It is a one-piece, L-shaped profile made of plastic, which is glued onto the step to be renovated with a filler adhesive filler.
- the plastic used such as Polyurethane must be highly stable for the intended use, especially with regard to shock and abrasion resistance.
- the polyurethane plastics in question have a high specific weight and are relatively expensive. It has also been found that gluing to the stairs is not safe.
- DE-C-964 983 describes a flat floor panel made of wood fibers, plywood, hard cardboard or the like with a glued-on rubber covering, which also covers the narrow or butt sides of the panels.
- the rubber covering is additionally designed such that it forms a positive connection with the neighboring panels, for example by overlapping or toothing.
- the object of the present invention is to improve the covering of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that its connection to the treads to be repaired is safer and the assembly is facilitated.
- the adhesive connection with the step to be repaired has become much more secure.
- the lower specific weight of the particle board compared to the polyurethane makes the covering significantly lighter, which of course also facilitates assembly work and reduces transport costs.
- the costs for the production of the covering are significantly reduced, since approximately 2 kg of polyurethane are saved per covering for a step to be repaired and are replaced by the significantly cheaper pressboard.
- the strength also notched impact strength, impact and bending strength, etc. is not inferior to that of a covering made entirely of polyurethane.
- FIG. 1 to 3 show a section of a staircase to be renovated with a step 10 which has emerged, the two adjoining steps 11 and 12 and an adjacent further step 13.
- the step 10 is extended with a butt edge beyond the step 11 and thus stands slightly above.
- the invention can also be used on stairs in which the step and adjusting step merge directly into one another without such a projection.
- a covering 20 is applied to the stairs to be renovated, which is constructed as follows:
- the covering has a tread leg 21 and a vertically protruding adjusting leg 25 which is connected in one piece to it and runs parallel to the adjoining adjusting step.
- the tread leg 21 has on its underside, i.e. on the side opposite the step 10, an insert made of a particle board 24, which has a lower specific weight than the rest of the plastic of the covering 20.
- This insert is placed in a casting or injection mold during the manufacture of the covering and firmly connected to the plastic.
- the thickness of this particle board 24 is approximately equal to half the thickness of the tread leg 21, so that it consists of half of plastic 23 and half of the lighter material of the particle board 24.
- the insert can extend over the entire width of the covering and - as shown in the exemplary embodiments of FIGS. 1 to 3 - also as far backwards in the direction of the adjoining setting step 12 that it ends at the "rear" end face of the step leg 21 defined in this way .
- particle board as an insert material has the following advantages:
- the material has a significantly lower specific weight than plastic, is inexpensive to purchase and has sufficient strength with regard to compressive and bending forces. Due to its surface structure, it also combines well with castable plastic such as Polyurethane or a PU cast elastomer, so that the individual layers do not separate from one another even when the stairs are subjected to heavy loads.
- the leg protruding perpendicularly from the tread leg 21 is integrally formed on this leg as a short adjusting leg 25, which covers the front edge of the tread 10 to be renovated, but which immediately adjoins it beard lying control stage 11 leaves essentially free.
- the setting step 11 can be covered by a separate cover 30, which is held by the part of the setting step leg 25 which projects downward beyond the lower edge of the step 10.
- the front leg 25 of the covering 20 lying parallel to the setting step 11 is so long that it completely covers the setting step 11, taking into account the covering of the step 13. Its length therefore corresponds to that of the control stage.
- the adjusting leg 25 also has an insert 27 made of a particle board. This also means that the actuator leg 25 is constructed in two layers, namely made of plastic 26 and the pressboard 27.
- the tread leg 21 can be extended over the leg 25 projecting vertically downward to form a butt edge 28.
- Such an butt edge can of course also be provided in the other variants of FIGS. 1, 3 and 4 .
- FIG. 4 shows a side view of a covering according to a further variant of the invention, in which the covering has a Z-shaped cross-sectional profile.
- the covering has a Z-shaped cross-sectional profile.
- a further adjusting leg 31 protrudes from the top of the tread leg 21 a further adjusting leg 31, the length of which corresponds to the step height of the step to be renovated, while the shorter adjusting leg 25 protrudes from the underside of the tread leg 21.
- the further adjustment leg 31 also has a recess which is filled with a material 32 which has a lower specific weight than the plastic mass.
- the top of the tread leg 21 and the front of the tread leg can have a structure that corresponds to a wood grain.
- the surfaces structured in this way can be coated with an effect lacquer.
- the covering according to the invention is attached to the stairs to be renovated by a filler adhesive filler 35.
- a filler adhesive filler 35 At least the entire step 10 and in the variant of FIG. 3 also the setting steps 11 and 12 are coated with this mass 35, so that on the one hand a full-surface adhesive connection is produced and on the other hand depressed depressions of the step 10 to be renovated are completely filled.
- the covering according to the invention can have a slip resistance in the region of the front edge of the tread leg 21, for example by a profile known per se or by an insert made of non-slip material, such as e.g. Rubber.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a covering for repairing worn stairs according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a covering is known from DE-GM 84 07 239. It is a one-piece, L-shaped profile made of plastic, which is glued onto the step to be renovated with a filler adhesive filler.
The plastic used, such as Polyurethane must be highly stable for the intended use, especially with regard to shock and abrasion resistance. The polyurethane plastics in question, however, have a high specific weight and are relatively expensive. It has also been found that gluing to the stairs is not safe.
Um zu verhindern, daß Wasser in das Holz eindringt, ist der Gummibelag zusätzlich so ausgebildet, daß er beispielsweise durch Überlappung oder Verzahnung eine formschlüssige Verbindung mit den Nachbarplatten eingeht.DE-C-964 983 describes a flat floor panel made of wood fibers, plywood, hard cardboard or the like with a glued-on rubber covering, which also covers the narrow or butt sides of the panels. In order to prevent water from penetrating into the wood, the rubber covering is additionally designed such that it forms a positive connection with the neighboring panels, for example by overlapping or toothing.
The object of the present invention is to improve the covering of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that its connection to the treads to be repaired is safer and the assembly is facilitated.
This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous refinements and developments of the invention can be found in the subclaims.
Due to the relatively rough surface of the particle board, the adhesive connection with the step to be repaired has become much more secure. Furthermore, the lower specific weight of the particle board compared to the polyurethane makes the covering significantly lighter, which of course also facilitates assembly work and reduces transport costs. It should also be emphasized that the costs for the production of the covering are significantly reduced, since approximately 2 kg of polyurethane are saved per covering for a step to be repaired and are replaced by the significantly cheaper pressboard. Despite this measure, the strength (also notched impact strength, impact and bending strength, etc.) is not inferior to that of a covering made entirely of polyurethane.
From DE-PS 964 983 a floor plate made of wood fibers and glued rubber or synthetic resin covering is known. However, it is about making the entire covering as watertight as possible. This publication also lacks any suggestion to use the covering shown there in connection with repair work on stairs.
- Fig. 1 bis 3 je eine seitliche Schnittansicht eines Belages nach der Erfindung in verschiedenen Varianten;
- Figures 1 to 3 each a side sectional view of a covering according to the invention in different variants.
- Fig. 4 is a side view of a covering according to a further variant of the invention.
Es sei allerdings darauf hingewiesen, daß die Erfindung auch bei Treppen anwendbar ist, bei denen Tritt- und Stellstufe ohne einen solchen Vorsprung direkt ineinander übergehen.1 to 3 show a section of a staircase to be renovated with a
A covering 20 is applied to the stairs to be renovated, which is constructed as follows:
Basically, the covering has a
The insert can extend over the entire width of the covering and - as shown in the exemplary embodiments of FIGS. 1 to 3 - also as far backwards in the direction of the
The use of particle board as an insert material has the following advantages: The material has a significantly lower specific weight than plastic, is inexpensive to purchase and has sufficient strength with regard to compressive and bending forces. Due to its surface structure, it also combines well with castable plastic such as Polyurethane or a PU cast elastomer, so that the individual layers do not separate from one another even when the stairs are subjected to heavy loads.
In the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1, the leg protruding perpendicularly from the
In the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 2, the
As can still be seen from FIG. 2, the
Auch hier besitzt der weiter Stellstufenschenkel 31 ebenfalls eine Ausnehmung, die mit einem Material 32 gefüllt ist, das ein geringeres spezifisches Gewicht hat als die Kunststoffmasse.4 shows a side view of a covering according to a further variant of the invention, in which the covering has a Z-shaped cross-sectional profile. There also protrudes from the top of the tread leg 21 a further adjusting
In all variants of the invention, the top of the
As is known per se, the covering according to the invention is attached to the stairs to be renovated by a filler
Gummi.Although not shown in the individual figures, the covering according to the invention can have a slip resistance in the region of the front edge of the
