Definitions
- the present invention relates to a boot, in particular for skiing in accordance with the preamble of claim 1.
- a shoe corresponding to the preamble of claim 1 is already known (DE-A 1 901 606).
- ski boots consist of an outer shell, the sole of which has the front and rear edges necessary for its attachment to the ski itself, this shell being of semi-rigid material capable of to be deformed by means of mechanical locking elements, to reduce its internal volume, and thereby enclose a deformable liner in which the foot is slipped.
- the present invention intends to propose another solution to the closure of a ski boot, and for this purpose, relates to a shoe comprising an outer shell which is intended to receive a slipper and which is provided with means for its attachment to the ski , characterized in that the liner intended to cooperate with said shell is constituted by a substantially rigid casing in two parts hinged to one another, one constituting sole and housing for the front of the foot and extending from a rising upper section constituting housing for the tibia, the other part constituting a tongue connected to the rear of the first part in the vicinity of the heel housing and capable of being folded down in the direction of said tibial section, said tongue and said section tibial being connected by a flexible double wall constituting deformable wall of a vacuum chamber formed in the thickness of one of said part and section, each wall forming in close position as the two parts fold in the vacuum chamber, in the manner of a bellows tending to penetrate as much as possible inside the chamber as the vacuum increases, and to keep the two parts close together, said folds
- the vacuum chamber is provided with a manual pumping mechanism accessible from the outside of the housing.
- the vacuum chamber is provided in the tibial part of the casing, and the pumping device is arranged either on this tibial part or on an external wall of the tongue, which also includes a chamber which can communicate with the aforementioned vacuum chamber by the 'through other areas of the liner.
- the aforementioned pumping mechanism can be connected to an inflatable airbag, located at the top of said tongue, to collect the air extracted from said vacuum chamber.
- a direct communication channel can connect said vacuum chamber and said cushion and for this purpose comprise a normally closed valve, the opening of which allows the transfer of air from the cushion to the vacuum chamber.
- the liner according to the invention has a casing constituted by two parts 1 and 2.
- Part 1 comprises a portion 1a, forming the footing portion of the foot and provided with 'a longitudinal upper groove 3, and a rising portion 1b intended to envelop the front of the tibia.
- the portions 1 a and 1 b of the first part 1 of the casing are joined by the portion 1 which envelops the heel.
- a lateral slit 4 allows a certain movement of the portion 1b relative to the portion 1a, the latter also forming the entire sole of the liner.
- the part 2 of the casing constitutes a rear tongue, for wrapping the rear part of the leg, and articulated at its lower zone 2a to the portion 1 c of the part 1 of the casing.
- the articulation means are not described in detail but can be constituted in a manner known per se, by fabrics or flexible ties of any kind.
- the tibial section 1b of the casing includes a vacuum chamber 5, the side walls of which are made of flexible and deformable material, to constitute, as shown, folds 6a and 6b, connected to the side edges 2b of the tongue 2, which return in the direction of the tibial section 1 b.
- the front wall of the tibial part includes a pumping mechanism shown diagrammatically in FIG. 1 by a deformable wall 7 defining a chamber of variable volume 8.
- This chamber of variable volume communicates with on the one hand, by an orifice 9 provided with a non-return valve 9a with the vacuum chamber 5, and on the other hand, by an orifice 10 provided with a non-return valve 10a with the external atmosphere.
- an alveolar padding material with open cells which will be suitably cut to leave room for the folds during their movements.
- This material can be used to support the internal wall 5b of the vacuum chamber.
- said vacuum chamber may include a rigid wall 5b, furnished on the inside of the shoe with padding ensuring the comfort of the user. It will be noted in this respect that the housing of the liner is provided internally with such padding, as can be seen in 12 equipping the interior face of the tongue 2.
- valve 13 which can be actuated manually, which makes it possible to establish communication between the vacuum chamber 5 and the atmosphere, to cause its inflation and the possibility of opening the boot.
- the pumping mechanism is integral with the tongue 2.
- This figure shows the elements of the pumping mechanism already described with the same references increased by two tens.
- the pneumatic connection between the chamber 28 and the vacuum chamber 5, by means of the non-return valve 29a, is ensured by the assembly of the inner lining of the liner which constitutes a closed chamber, which can be completely depressed .
- the lining material will be chosen for this purpose to allow the extraction of the air it contains without causing the internal wall of the envelope in which it is enclosed to collapse.
- non-return valve 30a corresponding to the valve 10a in FIG. 1, opens here on a sealed pneumatic cushion 32, the air extracted from the vacuum chamber 5 then being transferred into this pneumatic cushion 32.
- the inflation of the vacuum chamber 5 is then obtained by the actuation of a manual valve 33 normally closed, provided on a direct connection conduit of the pneumatic cushion 32 and of the chamber 5.
- FIG. 3A we recognize in Figures 3A and 3B the different parts of the boot of Figure 2. It is shown in these figures in the open position. It can be seen in FIG. 3A that the communication between the pumping device and the vacuum chamber takes place through the entire lining of open cell cellular material, arranged inside the casing, and in particular by its sole part. .
- Figure 3B we see that the flexible walls of the vacuum chamber forming the folds 6a and 6b allow the spacing of the rear tongue 2, which is thus distant from the tibial section 1b. Note however that the folds 6a and 6b are not completely extended, so as to retain a primer for their formation when the tongue is brought closer to the tibial part.
- the user having introduced his foot into the boot begins by manually closing his shoe by bringing the tongue to the tibial part 1b.
- the shoe then takes the configuration shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the folds 6a and 6b engaging deeply in the vacuum chamber 5 and in particular in the free spaces thereof formed between the portions 40 and 41 of the cellular linings that it involves.
- the actuation of the pumping mechanism creates a depression in the entire interior lining of the liner and thus tends to force the penetration of the folds into the chamber 5 and block this penetration against the different walls that this chamber can offer them.
- the airbag 32 was inflated.
- the pneumatic cushion 32, the tongue 2, the tibial section 1b, and the vacuum chamber 5 are recognized.
- the pumping mechanism is here symbolized by the cylinder-piston assembly 51 which, by the non-return valves 29a and 30a, allows the transfer of the air contained in the vacuum chamber 5 in the pneumatic cushion 32.
- the push-button 33 actuates a valve 33a arranged on a line 33b for direct connection of the pneumatic cushion 32 and room 5.
- the liner according to the invention can be introduced into a shell 60, the lower part of which completely encloses the lower part of the liner housing, this lower part being extended upwards by a lateral rod 61.
- This rod 61 can be fixed to the lateral part of the tibial section 1b by means of a screw-nut system passing through a lumen 62 provided in the rod 61 whose position is such that it allows adjustment and blocking of the final inclination which is imposed on the tibial part of the liner.
- the screw-nut system comprises a tightening and loosening button 63 with manual actuation.
- the upper 61 which has an identical replica on the internal part of the shoe, can be articulated on the base part of the shell 60 around an axis 64.
- the invention finds an interesting application in the field of sports articles.
