Den vorbekannten Vollschaummöbeln geht die freie Belüftbarkeit und Entlüftbarkeit an der Unterseite ebenso ab wie eine über die Elastizität des Schaumstoffmaterials hinausgehende Federkraft. Das verwandelbare Polstermöbel besteht aus einem Kufenpaar 1,2 aus einem Hohlprofil, an dessen Stelle auch ein Rahmen treten kann. Die Kufen 1,2 tragen über entsprechende Abstandstücke 3 den eigentlichen Rahmen 4, der bei der wiedergegebenen Ausführungsform aus U-Profilen besteht, deren U-öffnung nach innen gerichtet ist. Der Rahmen besteht aus einem Lehnenteil 5, einem Mittelteil 6 und einem Fußteil 7. Der Mittelteil 6 ist unverstellbar. Seine beiden Seitenholme 8 sind durch zwei Querstreben 9 beabstandet. Die Verbindung zwischen dem Rahmenmittelteil 6 und dem Lehnenteil 5 erfordert zwei Rastergelenke 10 üblicher Bauart, die einen praktisch stufenlosen Anstellwinkel des Lehnenteils 5 gegenüber dem Rahmenmittelteil 6 bei entsprechender Fixierung der gewünschten Schwenkstellung gestatten.
