Description

The invention relates to a harness for surfers or sailors, the longitudinal extension of which can be folded around a body part of the surfer or sailor and wherein the two ends of the harness are connected to the front of the body. Such trapezoidal belts are attached to a trapezoidal cord or to a trapezoidal wire which is attached to the boom of the surfrig or to the mast of the sailboat after being wrapped around this part of the body by means of a trapezoidal hook. On this trapeze the sailor can go into a hanging position on the surf or sailing rig in order to balance the surf frig or the sailboat.

Such a belt is e.g. known from WO 82/00448.

The invention has for its object to improve the known trapezoidal belts in such a way that they nestle optimally on the body part of the surfer or sailor or participate in movements of the body part around which they are placed without slipping out of their desired position. This object is achieved according to the invention in the case of a trapezoidal belt in that it has at least two longitudinal side parts lying next to one another transversely to the longitudinal extent of the belt (for example upper, optionally middle and lower part), which are separated from one another by at least one slot or a particularly elastic or flexible strip-shaped zone and are connected to one another at the longitudinal ends of the belt, which are located on the sides of the body (for example in the region of the hip bones) of the surfer or sailor when the belt is fastened. Particularly elastic or pliable is understood to mean an elasticity or pliability that is not insignificantly higher than the elasticity and pliability of the longitudinal side parts of the belt separated by this zone.

Through this design according to the invention, the strap in all its parts can adapt perfectly to the body part of the surfer or sailor surrounding it, without any gaps remaining between the body part and the strap. This enables a large-area power transmission of the weight of the surfer or sailor to the harness, which makes the use of the harness more pleasant for the user.

The design of the trapezoidal belt according to the invention should be particularly advantageous in the case of a trapezoidal waist, where the individual longitudinal side parts of the belt can adapt exactly to the physiological course of the spine of the user or the back, cross and pelvic areas of the user. This is also possible when the user has an extreme hollow back. In addition, the trapezoidal belt in the design according to the invention can optimally follow the movements of the user in the area of his body parts surrounded by the belt. The freedom of movement of the user is improved by the inventive design of the belt without the risk that the belt or its parts change the desired position on the body parts of the user.

The trapezoidal belt according to the invention is advantageous not only as a hip belt, but also as a back or seat belt. Depending on the type of use of the trapezoidal belt, for example as a hip or seat belt, it may be expedient that the belt is not only divided into two, but also into three or perhaps more longitudinal side parts in order to adapt to differently oriented surfaces of different parts of the user's body to be able to. In an expedient embodiment, the longitudinal side parts of the belt, which are separated from one another by at least one slot or a particularly elastic or flexible strip-shaped zone, extend essentially over the entire width of the body part, for example the back of the user, around which the belt can be folded.

The slot or the particularly elastic or flexible zone advantageously widens from its ends to its center. As a result, in order to adapt to the body parts of the surfer or sailor or to participate in the movement of these parts of the body, not only is opening (widening), but also closing (narrowing) the slot or the particularly elastic or flexible zone, i.e. changing the distance through this slot or this zone separate longitudinal side parts of the trapezoidal belt in both directions possible.

  • Fig. 1 zeigt dieses Ausführungsbeispiel im Einsatz bei einem Surfer;
  • Fig. 2 veranschaulicht den Trapezgurt in ausgebreiteter Lage;
In the drawing, a particularly advantageous embodiment of the trapezoidal belt according to the invention is described, which is described in more detail below:
  • Fig. 1 shows this embodiment in use with a surfer;
  • Fig. 2 illustrates the trapezoidal belt in the spread position;
  • Fig. 3 shows the core of the harness in its usual curved shape in an oblique view.

The illustrated embodiment is a trapezoidal hip belt for surfing, which consists of a core made of flexible, resilient material, e.g. Foam, which can be covered by a fabric or a film.

As shown in Fig. 1, this waist belt is placed around the hip area of the surfer when it is used. Its two ends are connected to one another by means of webbing straps 3 which are permanently fastened to the trapezoidal belt at one end and can be detachably fastened to the belt at the other end by means of buckles 2. With the help of a trapezoidal hook 4, which hangs on the belt straps, the hip belt 1 is attached to a trapezoidal rope 5, which is attached to the boom 6 of the surf rig. As a result, a large part of the weight of the surfer in a hanging position can be transferred to the boom 6 and from there to the entire surfrigg, so that the hands and arms of the surfer can be largely relieved of this weight transmission.

According to the invention, in the exemplary embodiment shown, the trapezoidal belt 1 is divided by a longitudinal slot 9 into two longitudinal side parts 7, 8, which are connected to one another in the region of the ends of the trapezoidal belt. This longitudinal slot 9 widens towards its longitudinal center, so that it can not only be widened but also narrowed by forces exerted by the body of the surfer or sailor on the belt.

This slot 9, which can also be formed by a belt zone of greater flexibility or elasticity than the two longitudinal side parts 7, 8, has the effect that the trapezoidal belt can be optimally adapted to the body parts of the surfer or sailor around whom it is placed when it is used. With a hip belt, an optimal fit of the belt to the upper and lower back areas or to the back, cross and pelvic areas of the user can be achieved, even if the user has a strong hollow back. In addition, this slot or the possibly present highly flexible or elastic zone ensures greater freedom of movement for the user in the area of the body parts surrounded by the belt, e.g. freedom of movement of the hip and back vertebrae when the user's back is flexed and stretched. In addition, the inventive design of the trapezoidal belt with two or more longitudinal side parts ensures that the belt cannot slip on the body parts of the user during its use, that is to say remains on the desired body parts around which it is placed. This applies in particular to parts of the body with bulges, such as pelvic, cross and hip parts, where the trapezoidal belt can wedge in a V-shape to the obliquely opposed areas of the body parts surrounding it, in a V-shape (see arrow in FIG. 1).

The longitudinal side parts of the trapezoidal belt separated by the slot or the particularly elastic or flexible zone are removed when the back of the user is bent. On the other hand, they approach when the back is stretched, but also with the V-shaped wedge described above.

The trapezoidal belt according to the invention can also consist of two or more part belts which are separably connected to one another. It is thus possible for the trapezoidal belt to consist of an actual lower main belt, which is designed as a lap belt with the particularly elastic or flexible strip-shaped zone according to the invention, to which an upper second belt which can be folded around the hip part of the surfer or sailor is detachably fastened. This second belt can also be equipped with the particularly elastic or flexible strip-shaped zone. The two straps, which can be separated from one another, are expediently each independently attachable to the trapezoidal rope or the trapezoidal wire, so that they can also be used without the other part.
