Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an arrangement for a marker intended for Luggage or some other object and capable of being provided with information which includes an information part capable of being supported by a carrier.
  • the principal object of the present invention is first of all to make available an arrangement of the kind indicated above which permits the simple and effective handling of markers of the aforementioned kind, which are preferably capable of being brought together in the form of a roll in a printer for the purpose of printing information on the markers, in this way enabling the markers to be transported inside said printer without the risk of them becoming entangled, and for each of the markers to form a strong loop when in its position in use on, for example, luggage.
  • the carrier formed into the shape of a strip is capable of being attached by means of an adhesive substance, which is active along the rear side of the information part, to said information part over most o ⁇ its length, in which case only the carrier exhibits a weakened area at one part which is so arranged as to facilitate the separation of a carrier part bordered by said weakened area from the information part, and in that the information part together with the remaining carrier part is so arranged as to be capable of being formed into a loop and of being stuck together by means of the part provided with adhesive previously concealed by the carrier part.
  • Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a marker arranged in accordance with the invention and represented diagrammatically
  • Fig. 2 shows a strip of the marker in accordance with the invention, viewed from above;
  • Fig. 3 shows said marker strip viewed from the under side
  • Fig. 4 shows a single marker viewed from the top side
  • Fig. 5 shows the rear side of the marker; and Fig. 6 shows a further example of a marker, viewed in- the direction of its upper side.
  • a marker 1 arranged in accordance with the present invention is intended first and foremost to be applied for luggage purposes, as shown in Fig. 1, but can naturally also be applied for the marking of other objects, although in the rest of this description only a luggage marker is portrayed in the interest of simplicity.
  • the marker 1 in question consists on the one hand of a carrier 2 and on the other hand of an information part 3, in which case the carrier.2, which exhibits the form of a strip, is so arranged as to support the information part 3.
  • an adhesive strip 4 so arranged as to act as an adhesive substance, preferably self—adhesive and supported preferably on the whole of the rear side 3A of the information part.
  • the carrier 2 is formed preferably from a siliconized film or from a piece of some other material provided with a lubricant, whilst the information part 3 can be formed from a printable material, preferably a cellulose material.
  • a number of markers 1 can be brought together in the form of a strip, preferably in the form of a roll, for example, so as to be capable of being run through a printer for the purpose of applying the necessary information to the markers at a suitable time before they are dispensed from said printer. It is important in this respect to ensure that the longitudinal side edges 2 1 , 2- * -* of the aforementioned carrier 2 are even and are free from interruptions in the form of, for example, recesses, since the feeding of the markers 1 in the printer is most suitably achieved through contact with the marker 1 at said edges 2 ⁇ , 2 * ⁇ .
  • Each marker 1 exhibits in its central area 5 a perforation 6 or some other weakened area arranged on each side edge 2 1 , 2-; 3 ⁇ , 3- * - * of _> the carrier 2 and the information part 3 which extends preferably in the form of an .arch from the side edge 1 ⁇ , 1* * - * of each marker towards the middle 7 through the whole marker 1.
  • the effective feeding of the markers 1 is made possible in this case by removing the two perforation parts 8 formed on the aforementioned marker 1 only after a marker 1 has been fed out from the printer, in order to produce a central part 7 in the marker 1 in question which exhibits reduced width.
  • edge perforations 6 of this kind are not present, as proposed in accordance with the embodiment of a marker 1 described above, since it is not wished in this case to produce markers 1* with a reduced width at their central part.
  • the marker 1* illustrated in Fig. 6 is to all intents and purposes the same as the marker 1 described above.
  • the marker 1 can, as shown in the drawings in Figs. 2—4, exhibit a ticket part 9 intended for ticket purposes.
  • This part 9 is so arranged as to be capable of being supported by the carrier 2 at one end 1A of the marker, and as to be capable of being removed from the carrier 2, if required, at the time of use.
  • a perforation 10 or some other weakened area may thus extend across the information part 3 in the area of the inner end 9A of the ticket part, for the purpose of dividing off said part 9 from the marker 1 and so as to facilitate the separation of the part 9 from the carrier 2, in order, for example, to be attached to a ticket by means of an adhesive substance, etc., 4 situated on the rear side 3A of the information part, in this way enabling the ticket to be attached to the luggage, etc., to which the marker 1 is secured through appropriate tasks in the different parts.
  • the marker 1 is so arranged as to be capable of being formed into a loop, as shown in Fig. 1, once it has been threaded through a handle 11 of a case, for example, by one of its ends, the end 1A or 1B, whereupon it is joined together so as to retain said loop form.
  • At least one attachment part 12 provided with* an adhesive substance 4 and capable of being concealed by the carrier 2 is so arranged as to be capable of being used for said joining. It is necessary for this purpose for a carrier part 13, which normally covers the aforementioned attachment part 12 provided with an adhesive substance 4 and which on its opposite side forms a section of an information part 14, to be capable of first being easily removed from the marker 1.
  • a weakened area 15, which is formed preferably by a perforation or some other form of cutting through, extends only through the carrier 2 at a certain distance from- the area 7 of the aforementioned edge recesses 6 on the marker 1.
  • the opposite sides of the attachment parts 12, 20 form information parts 14, 14 ⁇ on which the same information as it is intended to print on the ticket part 9 can also be printed. Thanks to the presence of the remaining, centrally—situated carrier part 23 of the marker, considerable reinforcement of the marker 1 is achieved. Effective adhesion to said carrier part 23 can also be achieved if the weakened areas 15, 18 are caused to extend, for example, diagonally across the carrier 2, with a common inclination when the marker 1 is held in an extended position, or if the weakened areas are caused in some other way to deviate from the transverse course illustrated. Overlapping will be achieved in this way at least in conjunction with the diagonal extension of the weakened areas, whereby both ends 23A, 23B of the carrier part 23 are attached to one another by means of the two adhesive—coated attachment parts which are exposed in this way.
