- the invention relates to a time-setting mechanism for a timepiece of the type comprising a plate supporting a movement, mechanism comprising a rod which can be operated from the outside of the part by means of a crown, said rod being capable of take at least two notched axial positions, the first neutral and the second active, a sliding pinion coaxial with the rod and sliding on it, said sliding pinion being provided with a teeth shaped to mesh with a time-setting reference, the rod and the sliding pinion being provided respectively with male and female portions of non-circular cross section and fitted one inside the other to drive the sliding pinion in rotation when the rod is rotated and a pull and rocker system for slaving the pinion flowing to the rod and engaging said toothing with said reference when said rod is in the active position.

At the rear of the pivot 28 there is a distinction between the non-circular portion 40 carried by the rod 4 and the dishes 27 of this portion and the edges of the groove 41 of the current pinion between which the plates 27 slide.
- the construction described here by way of example is not limited to the use of two dishes 27 for the rod 4. It could be a square or any other non-circular shape.
- the diameter of the pivot 28 is shown as being equal to the distance which separates the two dishes. It will be understood that this diameter may be smaller than the distance in question.
