Ein zumindest teilweises Abschließen des Kühlregals durch Schutzwände gegen Zugluft könnte dieses Problem zwar lösen, jedoch wird durch Schutzwände die zur Verfügung stehende Stellfläche eingeengt und der offene Regalcharakter geht verloren. Das Kühlregal ist daher auch für empfindliche Ware, wie beispielsweise Molkereiprodukte, geeignet.
