Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a closure member for the longitudinal edge of a roof covering.
The roof covering of a sloping roof of a modern building is usually built on a roof covering plate made of chipboard on the underside, an insulating layer lying on the plate, and a plurality of spaced-apart roof plates, on which the horizontally extending tile slats are fastened . It is known to protect the longitudinal edge of the roof cover against the weather by means of a cover plate. Such a cover plate is particularly necessary to prevent the chipboard from swelling under the influence of moisture blown against it. In practice, comb-shaped bird protection is used to prevent birds from entering the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles. Usually both the cover plate and the bird protection are attached to the lowest wooden brick slat.
From EP-A 0 084 909 a closure member for the longitudinal edge of a roof covering is known with a corrugated sheet which is formed from a piece of plastic together with a comb-shaped bird protection part to prevent birds from penetrating into the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles the corrugated sheet and the bird protection part is an intermediate piece that belongs to the same piece of plastic.
It has been shown that the teeth of the bird protection break relatively quickly due to fatigue fracture in the known final organ. The object of the invention is to eliminate this disadvantage.
The closure element according to the invention, by which this object is achieved, is characterized in that the intermediate piece has elevation parts for increasing the lower brick slat and fastening parts for supporting and fastening the intermediate piece on the lower brick slat, the connection between the bird protection part and the intermediate piece being below the upper level of the survey parts.
Due to the above-mentioned elevations, the connecting parts of the teeth of the bird protection part are protected from direct contact with the bottom row of the bricks. The combination of the elevations and depressions provides a stiff fastening option on the wooden brick slat.

- Figure 1 shows a cross section of a roof covering with the closure member according to the invention.
- FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a closure element according to the invention, viewed from behind.
- Figure 3 shows a view of the closure member from the front.
The roof covering shown in FIG. 1 contains a cover plate 1 made of chipboard, an insulating layer 2 and a plurality of roof battens 3 arranged at a distance from one another. Horizontal tile battens 4 are fastened on these battens 3, on which the roof tiles are supported with a projecting edge. The roof covering is supported by a wall plate 6 on the upper edge of a hollow wall 7.
At the lower edge of the roof covering there is arranged a closure member made according to the invention from a piece of plastic, which is shown in detail in FIGS. 2 and 3. The closing element contains a corrugated sheet 8, a comb-shaped bird protection 9 and a bridge 10 arranged between the corrugated sheet 8 and the bird protection 9. The bridge 10 is formed from brick
The bottom row of the bottom row of roof tiles 5 is supported on the slatted
The corrugated plate 8 is wave-shaped and protects the longitudinal edge of the roof cover against moisture, which is blown against the roof by the wind. In the slope shown in FIG. 1, the corrugated sheet 8 is bent toward the longitudinal edge of the roof covering, one or more of the transverse ribs 15 resting on the tile slats 3, with good ventilation being ensured.
Of course, the corrugated plate 8 can also assume a less inwardly bent position.
The described closure organs can be in lengths of e.g. 1 meter in an injection mold from a piece of plastic. Different end members can be attached to one another with their end edges, in that one end edge is provided with slots 16 with a widened part and the other end edge with
It is essential for the invention that an organ that can be produced from a piece of plastic at low cost can be attached to a wooden brick slat with normal dimensions, the end member protecting the longitudinal edge of the roof covering against the blowing in of moisture and a comb-shaped bird protection prevents birds from penetrating between the roof covering and the roof tiles, the connection point of the teeth of the bird protection part being protected from fatigue fracture by the brick slat attachments.
