Description

The invention relates to anchoring devices for stretched cables and more particularly those of these devices, for which relative variations in inclination are likely to appear between the device and the cable when the latter is loaded.

Such cables are, for example, the cables making up the stay cables for the suspension of bridges: the overloads applied to these bridges after the installation of their stay cables can indeed slightly deform their suspended decks and therefore the inclinations of the cables relative to their devices. anchoring or vice versa.

Likewise, and more commonly, the inclination of such a vacuum cable differs from that imposed on it under load and it is often difficult to estimate the exact value of this latter inclination during the initial anchoring of the cable to empty, or even to give the cable the desired final inclination if this is known exactly in advance.

Furthermore, the position tolerances of the parts intended to transmit the forces of the shrouds to the decks are such that this results in parasitic variations in inclination of the same order of magnitude as those mentioned above.

These different variations in inclination are generally located in a relatively short section of the cable disposed at its connection with a rigid head of this cable, a head which is said to be "anchoring head" and is used to anchor the cable on a support plate included by the device.

The resulting stresses are concentrated in this section and can be high enough to locally reduce the resistance of the cable or even cause it to rupture by fatigue.

To eliminate this drawback, we have already proposed to interpose between the anchoring head and its support plate, which is perforated so as to be traversed by the cable, a ball joint integral with said head and suitable for coagulating with a bowl of complementary profile carried by said plate.

The cable traction cylinder is then itself mounted on the ball joint around this cable.

Such a solution is only acceptable for low loads and it has the disadvantage that the ball joint is lost, that is to say left in place in the anchoring device.

In a known variant of this solution, the cable pulling cylinder, surrounding the anchoring head, is not mounted on the ball joint integral with this head, but on a second ball joint larger than the first and itself received in a second bowl carried by the first, this formula makes it possible to make the cylinder coaxial with the anchoring head even when the latter is inclined relative to normal to the flat surfaces for carrying the plate and the bowls, and therefore exert pulls on the cable so "inclined", but it does not vary the inclination of the anchor heads under load.

The invention aims, above all, to make possible such variations under load.

To this end, the anchoring devices of the type in question according to the invention also comprise a traction cylinder arranged around the anchoring head and a convex spherical bearing secured to this head and capable of interacting with an annular bearing of the plate, and they are essentially characterized in that they comprise an annular shoulder attached to the free end of the anchoring head and delimited on the side of the plate by a second convex spherical bearing concentric with the first and in that the cylinder is interposed between the plate and the shoulder and has a concave spherical bearing capable of interacting with the convex spherical bearing of the shoulder so as to make possible a sliding under load of this shoulder relative to the jack.

In preferred embodiments, one and / or the other of the following arrangements are used:
  • the shoulder is removably mounted on the anchorage head, in particular by screwing,
  • - a pressurized liquid is interposed between the coagulating spherical bearing surfaces of the shoulder and of the jack.

The invention includes, apart from these main provisions, certain other provisions which are preferably used at the same time and which will be more explicitly discussed below.

In what follows, a preferred embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the attached drawing, of course, in a non-limiting manner.

Figure 1 of this drawing shows schematically in axial section a cable anchoring device established in accordance with the invention after tilting the cable under load and before correcting the orientation of the anchoring head.

Les figures 2 et 3 montrent sensiblement le même dispositif respectivement au cours de la correction et après celle-ci.Figures 2 and 3 show substantially the same device respectively during the correction and after it.

In a manner known per se, the tensioning cable 1, which is for example intended for the guying of a bridge, is terminated by a rigid head 2 externally threaded.

It is this head 2 that is to be anchored. On a solid 3, made of metal or reinforced concrete, hollowed out by a hole 4 of axis X suitable for delivering passage to the cable 1, or more precisely on a annular metal support plate 5 attached to this block 3 and hollowed out like this.

To this end, said head 2, or "anchoring head", is surrounded by a nut 6 screwed onto it and itself having a convex spherical bearing 7 suitable for resting on an appropriate annular bearing 8 of the plate 5, carried coaxial with hole 4 and generally frustoconical.

The anchoring device also comprises here:
  • an annular shoulder 9 secured to the free end of the head 2 and delimited on the side of the plate 5 by a second convex spherical bearing 10 which is concentric with the bearing 7,
  • - And a jack 11 surrounding the head 2 and interposed axially between the plate 5 and the shoulder 9.

To this end, the jack 11 itself comprises:
  • a continuous or discontinuous annular foot 12 bearing on the plate 5,
  • an annular head 13 having a concave spherical bearing 14 suitable for contiguously receiving the convex spherical bearing 10,
  • - And hydraulic or pneumatic means 15 with piston and cylinder to connect the head 13 to the foot 12 while allowing to exert a force of force controlled and balanced spread between these two elements.

The two spherical surfaces 10 and 14 have the same radius of curvature and at least one of these surfaces is made of a hard and non-deformable material. They are machined and treated in such a way that they can easily slide against each other even under load and so that the axis of the head 2 can align rigorously with that of the cable 1 harnessed on this same head when this cable is heavily loaded.

For this purpose, there is advantageously interposed between these two surfaces a liquid lubricant, such as engine oil.

This lubricant is discharged to the interface concerned under a high pressure (for example between 500 to 1,000 bars) through pipes 16 and distribution grooves 17, then recovered in the state of leakage on the edges of the surface. annular portage lubricated by him, using flexible annular skirts 18 and evacuation or recycling pipes 19: for simplicity, the elements 16 to 19 have been shown only in FIG. 2.

The shoulder 9 is preferably removably mounted on the head 2, for example by screwing, so that it can be recovered just like the jack 11 in order to successively correct the orientations of separate heads 2.

The operation of the anchoring device described above is as follows.

Lors de la mise en place du câble 1 sur l'ouvrage à équiper, la tête 2, de ce câble, ancrée sur le massif 3 est coaxiale au trou 4 d'axe X et l'écrou 6 est orienté co- axialement à ce trou avec sa portée 7 reposant sur la portée 8 de la plaque 5.When the cable 1 is put in place on the structure to be fitted, the head 2 of this cable, anchored on the block 3 is coaxial with the hole 4 of axis X and the nut 6 is oriented coaxially to this hole with its bearing surface 7 resting on the bearing surface 8 of the plate 5.

Après mise en charge de l'ouvrage, l'axe Y du câble 1 occupe une position inclinée d'un angle α par rapport à l'axe X (figure 1).After loading of the structure, the Y axis of the cable 1 occupies an inclined position at an angle α relative to the X axis (Figure 1).

It is then necessary to correct by the same angle "the inclination of the head 2 to avoid the creation of undesirable stresses in the connection zone between the cable 1 and the head 2: for this it is necessary to move the nut 6 away from the plate 5 against which it is strongly applied by the traction of the cable 1, since the ranges 7 and 8 are not intended to slide against one another under load.

To this end, after having set up the shoulder 9 and the jack 11, the latter is pressurized, which has the effect of pushing the shoulder 9 according to the arrows F and therefore of taking off the nut 6 of the plate 5 (figure 2).

At the same time, the interface between the spherical bearings 10 and 14 is lubricated in the manner specified above.

Due to the possibility of sliding under load which is then made possible between these ranges 10 and 14, the alignment between the axes X and Y takes place automatically.

It then suffices to release the pressure from the jack so that the nut 6 again comes to rest on the plate 5 in its position strictly aligned with the axis Y (FIG. 3).

We can then disassemble and recover the shoulder 9 and the cylinder 11 in order to apply them to another anchoring head.

As a result of which, and whatever the embodiment adopted, we finally obtain anchoring devices, the constitution and operation of which result sufficiently from the above.

These devices have many advantages compared to those previously known, in particular in that they allow rigorous alignment under load of the anchor heads with the cables they terminate, and this in a very economical manner since the only ones "lost" spherical surfaces 7 can be made of inexpensive materials, no requirement for sliding under load being provided at their level: the spherical surfaces 10 and 14, provided to slide against each other under load, can be relatively expensive because they are recoverable.

As is obvious, and as already follows from the foregoing, the invention is in no way limited to those of its modes of application and embodiments which have been more especially envisaged; on the contrary, it embraces all its variants.
