Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for packaging objects, in particular cigarettes, by grouping them together into groups (cigarette groups) and wrapping them in at least one blank of packaging material (tin foil, paper or the like), the group being carried along in one Plane is inserted transversely to the conveying direction of the same blank that is kept ready in a pack receptacle (pocket) of a (first) folding conveyor (folding turret) and is folded during further conveying. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for performing the method.
- the subject of the invention is a packaging machine, in particular for cigarettes for the production of so-called soft packs.
- These are usually designed as a soft cup pack, namely with an inner blank made of tinfoil, which completely surrounds the cigarette group to form a tinfoil block, and with a cup-shaped outer wrapper made of a paper blank. This outer covering is open at the top, so that the tinfoil block protrudes slightly from the cup pack.
- the soft pack formed in this way is usually provided with a further outer covering made of cellophane or plastic film.
- Such packaging is produced on high-performance packaging machines. These mostly contain revolving folding revolvers for successively folding the blanks.
- the performance of the packaging machine is limited with intermittent folding turrets because clocked movements can only be carried out in limited speed ranges.
- packaging machines with continuously revolving folding turrets or other folding conveyors higher turning speeds are possible.
- the insertion of cigarettes or tinfoil blocks or packs into or out of the folding conveyors requires special measures so that the continuity of the movement is maintained throughout. For this reason, continuously running packaging machines have only found limited use in practice.
- the invention is based on the object of proposing a packaging machine with cyclically driven folding conveyors (folding turrets) in which the output is nevertheless increased considerably without the need for undesirably high switching speeds for the individual folding conveyors.
- the method according to the invention to be used in packaging machines is that the folding conveyor (folding turret) is preceded by a group conveyor (group turret) which conveys the objects (cigarette groups) in group receptacles (pockets), the objects in the axial direction into and out of the pockets in a transverse axial direction.
- group conveyor group turret
- the cigarettes are ejected from magazine shafts by means of reciprocating pushers and are inserted into receptacles (pockets) of the group revolver. It must be taken into account that there is sufficient time available for the back and forth movement of the plungers and for the dropping of a sufficient number of cigarettes in the magazine shafts.
- z. B. two-lane operation of the packaging machine it is problematic to do justice to the above technical contradictions.
- sufficiently dimensioned cycle times are achieved through a special design of the magazine shafts or from shaft groups assigned to a cigarette group and by a training or arrangement of the pockets for receiving the cigarette groups in the group revolver is ensured.
- the special feature is that a plurality of pockets of the group revolver can be loaded simultaneously via a corresponding number of shaft groups, but on the other hand it is ensured that the cigarettes in the individual magazine shafts can fall down due to their own weight when the plunger is retracted. This is made possible by a fan-like arrangement of the shaft groups, which are therefore only slightly inclined with respect to the vertical.
- a special relative position of the group receptacles or pockets of the group revolver is provided, such that the pockets, preferably four, each located in a loading station are each directed transversely to the assigned shaft groups.
- the longitudinal median plane of the pockets is oriented at an angle to both the radial and the tangential.
- the pockets of the group revolver are open at least on one axially directed side and on the side lying outside in the radial direction.
- a limitation or guidance or holder for the cigarettes is provided here during the filling and during the subsequent transport.
- the formed cigarette groups are ejected in the area of an ejection station in a horizontal plane at a distance below the horizontal central plane of the group revolver and inserted into the pocket of a first folding revolver with the aid of a transverse cut. In the area of the same, parts of the blank are folded; additional blanks during ejection or in the area of a subsequent folding path.
- a packing tower for accommodating the packs which are ready except for an outer cellophane wrap.
- a banderole is attached to the pack by a special banderole apparatus.
- a banding apparatus is assigned to each lane, namely offset in the transverse direction and in the longitudinal direction.
- Special services are provided with gentle treatment. of cigarettes achieved by the two-lane operation.
- the group turret is equipped for this purpose in a special way, namely with double-wide pockets in the axial direction.
- the pockets are filled in a special way with two groups of cigarettes lying side by side in the axial direction.
- the individual measures are carried out simultaneously on the two adjacent cigarette groups or tinfoil blocks or packs.
- the group revolver can be designed according to the invention in such a way that the cigarette groups in the pockets are exposed to lateral pressure through an elastically compressible side wall of the pockets.
- otherwise prefabricated tinfoil blocks are fed to a block turret in two lanes. which is comparable in structure and function to the group revolver and which holds two tinfoil blocks in axial direction next to each other.
- the tinfoil blocks are fed to the pockets of this block turret by special transfer turrets of different sizes, which are arranged in such a way that two tinfoil blocks are inserted into a pocket one after the other.
- a cigarette group 21 consisting of three layers in the present case is first wrapped in an inner blank, namely in a tinfoil blank 22. This completely wraps the cigarette group 21, that is to say with front and bottom flaps.
- An outer blank, namely a paper blank 23 is cup-shaped, that is to say only with bottom tabs. The upper area is open such that a partial area of the cigarette group 21 encased in the tinfoil blank 22, namely a tinfoil block 24, protrudes from the cup of the paper blank 23.
- the device or packaging machine for the production of such (cigarette) packs 20 consists, according to the exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 1 ff., Of several units.
- Individual cigarettes 25 are removed from a cigarette magazine 26 to form the cigarette groups 21.
- the cigarette groups 21 arrive in a group revolver 28 rotating in cycles. From this area, the cigarette groups 21 are ejected in the area of an ejection station 29 and via an insertion station 30 into a first folding turret 31 together with a tin foil blank 22 inserted.
- the partially completed tinfoil blocks 24 enter a linear folding path 33 and from there in the area of a further push-in station 34 into a second folding turret 35 with paper blank 23 ready.
- the packs 20 emerging from the folding turret 35 become in the area a further fold sheet 36 is finished folded, namely with regard to bottom tabs.
- the cigarette magazine 26 and group revolver 28 are designed and matched to one another in a special way.
- the cigarette magazine 26 consists in the usual way of several cigarette shafts 43, which are intended and dimensioned for receiving the cigarettes in sealing rows 44 superimposed.
- the cigarettes 25 slide in these cigarette chutes 43 under their own weight down into the area of the ejection.
- the cigarette chutes 43 are separated from one another by thin shaft walls 45.
- cigarette chutes 43 are combined to form a chute group 46, 47, 48, 49.
- the number of cigarette chutes 43 per chute group 46..49 corresponds to the number of cigarettes 25 per cigarette group 21 or the number of cigarettes per layer.
- the cigarette groups 21 consist of three layers, the middle one being offset from the outer one (saddle layer).
- the individual shaft groups 46..49 are separated from one another by partitions 50, 51 and 52.
- the very thin-walled shaft walls 45 are anchored in a lower bottom wall 53 of the shaft group 46.49.
- the lower cigarettes or the lower layer of the same lie on this.
- the shaft groups 46..49 are delimited on the sides or on the end faces by side walls 54 and 55. These are provided with openings in the lower area, through which tappets or tappet groups 56, 57, 58 and 59 are able to pass to eject a cigarette group.
- Each plunger group 56..59 consists of individual, upright plungers, the height of which is such that, in the present case, three superimposed cigarettes are ejected. The individual plungers enter the area between the shaft walls 45.
- the finger-like and protruding plungers of the plunger groups 56..59 are attached to common plunger supports 60 and 61 on one side.
- the upper plunger groups 56 and 57 are attached to the upper plunger carrier 60 and the lower plunger groups 58 and 59 to the lower plunger carrier 61. These are moved back and forth at the same time in the manner described above.
- a cigarette group 21 is pushed out of the assigned shaft group 46..49 and pushed into a pocket 64 of the group revolver 28 at each common insertion cycle (direction arrows 62, 63).
- four pockets 64 successive in the circumferential direction of the group revolver 28 are simultaneously loaded with a cigarette group 21 in the region of the insertion station 27 simultaneously, namely with one cycle.
- the group revolver 28 is arranged laterally and downwards with respect to the cigarette magazine 26.
- the four pockets 64 each located in the insertion station 27 are in the upper region of the group revolver 28, specifically in a position that is already in the downward movement.
- the upper pocket 64 assigned to the shaft group 46. can be found in a position following the highest position, while the lower pocket 64 assigned to the shaft group 49 has almost reached the horizontal central plane of the group revolver 28.
- the pockets 64 which are rectangular in cross-section in accordance with the cross-section of a cigarette group 21, are aligned axially parallel with their longitudinal extension (longitudinal direction of the cigarettes 25). With the rectangular cross-section, they are arranged in a special relative position such that each pocket 64 is directed exactly transversely to the lower region of the associated shaft group 46.49.
- the partially curved shaft walls 45 are directed in the ejection area of the cigarettes 25 perpendicular to the bottom wall 53 and perpendicular to the pocket 64 or to the side walls 65 and 66 thereof.
- the pockets 64 are directed with their longitudinal center plane (parallel to the side walls 65, 66) at an angle both to the radial plane and to the tangential plane of the group turret 28, namely in an oblique position.
- This relative position on the one hand and the alignment of the shaft groups 46..49 on the vertical result in their design.
- the chute groups 46.49 are fan-shaped with slight angular deviations with respect to the vertical, so that the downward movement of the cigarettes 25 in the cigarette chutes 43 is not disturbed. Only through this special design of the shaft groups 46.49 on the one hand and the relative position of the pockets 64 on the other hand can four pockets 64 be loaded simultaneously from assigned shaft groups 46.49 of a common cigarette magazine 46 without an intermediate conveyor element.
- the cigarettes 25 are pushed into the pockets 64 in the longitudinal direction thereof, with the plunger groups 56..59 facing the filter 67.
- the cigarettes 25 or the cigarette groups 21 are conveyed transversely axially out of the pockets 64 of the group turret 28.
- the holding fingers 76, 77 lie outside the area of the push-out opening 69, as well as in the area of the push-out station 29.
- the outer edge-side cigarettes 25 of the cigarette group 21 - are gripped by a holding finger 76, 77, the ends of which are adapted to the contour of the cigarettes 25.
- the open side of the pockets 64 is delimited by stationary, reciprocable wall plungers 78.
- These plate-shaped organs enter the ejection opening 69 of the four pockets 64 located in the insertion station 27 with an exact relative position such that they are accurate are limited to the dimensions of the cigarette group 21.
- the pockets 64 have a continuously closed cross section in this area.
- the aggregates of the present packaging machine are designed to increase the output for two-lane operation. This means that two packs are produced side by side at the same time.
- the group turret 28 is also set up and designed for double-track operation.
- the pockets 64 are dimensioned in the axial direction in such a way that two cigarette groups 21 are accommodated side by side in each pocket.
- the pockets are formed like a blind hole with a insertion opening 68 on one side
- the area between the adjacent cigarette groups 21 are initially still connected to one another, so that a blank which is continuous in the transverse direction is formed.
- the distance between the cigarette groups 21 a, 21 b of a pocket 64 corresponds to twice the width of the longitudinal tabs 84 and corner tabs 86 of the blank.
- the double blank 23 is divided into two individual blanks along a longitudinal dividing line 87.
- the holding members for the cigarette groups 21 in the pockets 64 are set up for the double-track dimension.
- Two pairs of holding fingers 76, 77 are arranged on a rotary shaft 88 on both sides of a pocket 64. Rotating movements of the same back and forth are controlled by a fixed cam 89, in the control groove 90 of which a feeler wheel 92 connected to a crank arm 91 runs. Due to the shape of the control groove 90, the movements of the holding fingers 76, 77 are carried out in the manner described.
- the revolver ring 70 gives the group revolver, which is open on one side, a pot-like shape.
- two ejection slides 72 which are located next to one another and are movable at the same time are arranged.
- each pocket 64 is provided with two slit-like passage openings 71 lying next to one another for the ejection slide 72 in the region of the cigarette groups 21 a, 21 b.
- the through openings 21, which are closed in cross section, have a slightly smaller height than the corresponding dimension of the pocket 64.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 An embodiment of the group revolver 28 modified in relation to the design of the pockets is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. With regard to the orientation of their longitudinal center plane, the pockets 64 have the same relative position within the group turret 28 as in the previously described exemplary embodiment. The difference is that the cigarette groups 21 in the pockets 64 are subjected to lateral pressure to format the cigarette group.
- one of the side walls of the pocket 64 is designed to be movable in the sense of narrowing or widening the pocket 64.
- the side wall is part of a pressure lever 93 which is pivotably mounted on a pivot bearing 94 within the group turret 28 as a one-armed lever.
- a radially outer wedge piece 95 forms the side wall of the pocket 64 that lies forward in the direction of rotation.
- the pivotable pressure lever 93 and thus the wedge piece 95 are under elastic pressure in the direction of a reduction in the width of the pocket 64.
- the pressure lever 93 in the area of the wedge piece 95 is assigned a compression spring 96.
- This is supported on a likewise movable, controllable actuating element, namely on an actuating lever 105, which is likewise single-armed here.
- This is likewise pivotably mounted in the region of the pivot bearing 94 and is moved by a control roller 106. controlled curved path 107 within the group revolver 28.
- the actuating lever 105 is moved such that the cigarette groups 21 are loaded with pressure by the wedge piece 95 during the transport from the insertion station 27 to the extension station 29.
- the actuating lever 105 is applied to the pressure lever 93 by compressing the compression spring 96.
- the actuating lever 105 with a corresponding length has a further function, namely the holding of the cigarettes or a cigarette located at the facing corner of the cigarette group 21 instead of the holding finger 77 missing in this exemplary embodiment on the side of the pressure lever 93.
- the free end of the actuating lever 105 is provided for this purpose with a laterally directed nose 108 comprising the corner-side cigarette.
- the actuating lever 105 is pivoted back into an initial position, relieving the pressure of the compression spring 96.
- the pressure lever 93 with the wedge piece 95 is also lifted off the cigarette group 21 with a corresponding enlargement of the pocket 64.
- the cigarette group can now be pushed out in the manner described.
- the pressure lever 93 and the actuating lever 105 extend over the full length of the pocket 64 dimensioned for the reception of two cigarette groups 21.
- the pivot bearing 94 is also located outside the area of the turret ring 70 like the cam track 107.
- cigarette holders 97, 98 come into operation.
- These are elongated, rod-shaped holding members, which - associated with each cigarette group 21 a, 21 b in a pocket 64 - enter the ejection opening 69 of the pocket 64 from the sides.
- the cigarette holders 97, 98 are made from a lateral Pocket 64 inserted cigarette group 21 a is promoted to the end of the pocket 64.
- the second group of cigarettes 21b remains in a position adjacent to the insertion opening 68. At the opening 68), but also on the radially outer side (ejection opening 69).
- the insertion opening 68 and extension opening 69 correspond to the full cross section of the pocket 64.
- the pockets 64 are arranged in a turret ring 70 of the group turret 28 at the angular position described.
- a passage opening 71 that is smaller (narrower) than the cross section of the pocket 64 is formed on the side opposite the ejection opening 69. This is for the one or.
- the passage of an ejection slide 72 in the area of the ejection station 29 is determined. Through this ejection slide 72, which can be moved back and forth in the horizontal plane, the complete cigarette group 21 is conveyed out of the pocket 64 transversely axially via the ejection opening 69 and, when this movement is continued, inserted into a pocket 73 of the first folding turret 31.
- the extension station 29 is offset in height relative to the horizontal longitudinal center plane of the group turret 28 (drive shaft 74), such that the pocket 64 located in the extension station 29 is directed horizontally.
- the folding turret 31 is also offset with respect to the group turret 28.
- the ejection slide 72 is provided with a slide head 75, the contour of which corresponds to the contour of the facing long side of the cigarette group 21, so that the three edge-side cigarettes are detected together by the ejection slide 72 or the slide head 75.
- the cigarettes 25 of the cigarette groups 21 are secured in the pockets 64 against relative displacements and against falling out via the ejection opening 69.
- Each pocket 64 on the turret ring 70 is assigned holding members, namely pivoting holding fingers 76 and 77. These are respectively above and below or next to the pockets 64 embodiment, the ends of the cigarettes 25 are flush with the Side surface of the group revolver 28 from.
- the cigarette groups 21 are pushed into the pocket 64 with the filter 67 pointing backwards.
- the loading of the group revolver 28 with cigarette groups 21 is matched in a special way to the functional sequence.
- the group revolver 28 switches in each case by a cycle corresponding to the spacing of the pockets 64.
- the number of switching cycles is, for example, 600 per minute.
- Cigarette groups 21a are inserted into the two upper pockets 64a and 64b, which lie behind in the direction of rotation of the group revolver 28, up to the end of the pocket 64a and 64b.
- the assigned tappets or tappet groups 56 and 57 are dimensioned accordingly and cover a conveying path up to the aforementioned end position of the cigarette groups 21 a.
- the pockets 64c and 64d are filled with cigarette groups 21b, which are placed in the entry area of the pockets 64c, 64d, so that the last-mentioned pockets are filled by this insert into two cigarette groups 21a, 21b.
- the group turret 28 is moved forward by one stroke after the tappet groups 56..59 have been withdrawn. In the next position, no cigarette groups 21 are inserted into the (four) pockets 64 located in the insertion station 27. Rather, the cigarettes 25 in the cigarette shafts 43 of the shaft groups 46.49 have time after the plunger groups have been completely withdrawn to fall into the lower position. Only after the group turret 28 has been shadowed again are there two empty and two pockets 64a..64d which are already provided with a cigarette group 21a and are ready to receive in the area of the insertion station 27. The insertion process for all (four) pockets 64 can now be repeated.
- the cigarette groups 21a, 21b are at a distance from one another in the pockets 64, which are matched to the further packaging process.
- a double-wide tinfoil cut is made transversely to the horizontal conveying direction fed in the area of a packing web 80.
- the blank 22 is separated from a continuous material web 81 by cutting knives 82.
- the packing web 80 acts here through its boundary walls like a folding mouthpiece. Due to the relative movement of the cigarette group 21 through the packing web 80 into an adjacent pocket 73 of the folding turret 31, the blank 22 is carried along with a U-shaped covering of the front area of the cigarette group 21.
- the tinfoil blank 22 is provided with laterally projecting folding tabs, namely upper and lower longitudinal tabs 83, 84 ' and corner tabs 85, 86.
- the longitudinal tabs 84 and corner tabs 86 in Chen position (dash-dotted in Fig. 5) by transverse movement and then arcuate approach to the group revolver 28 brought into position.
- a partial area of each cigarette holder 97, 98 then lies against the outer side of a cigarette group 21a, 21b.
- the surface facing the cigarettes is formed with a profile which corresponds to the lateral contour of the cigarette group, so that it is supported in a form-fitting manner.
- the cigarette holders 98 are moved in the opposite direction when the cigarette groups 21a, 21b are ejected and accordingly run with the cigarette groups 21a, 21b along a path of the same before they are pulled off laterally.
- the supporting function of the cigarette holder 97, 98 is maintained beyond the transverse plane predetermined by the blank 22 provided, so that the cut 22 is carried along by the cigarette group during the initial phase by the cigarette holder 97, 98, which thus counteracts the cigarettes Protect excessive stress from the drawn blank 22.
- the blank 22 is held ready in such a position relative to the packing web 80 that there is an asymmetrical position with respect to the cigarette group in the pocket 73 of the revolver 31.
- a blank leg 99 of the blank 22 protrudes from the pocket 73 in the radial direction.
- this cutting leg 99 is folded over by a fixed, externally extending, curved guide wall 100 and placed in a rearward-facing position.
- part of the cutting leg 99 is folded over into the radially directed plane, namely to form part of the front or Back of the inner wrapper.
- the packing web 80 and correspondingly the pockets 73 of the first folding turret 31 are divided in the central region by a partition 101 or by a folding web 102. This results on the one hand in precise movement paths for the cigarette groups. Canting is avoided.
- the central folding flaps that is to say between the cigarette groups 21a, 21b, are partially folded by the end faces of the folding web 102, namely the corner flaps 86.

Abstract
Packaging machines for cigarettes have to perform well on the one hand, but on the other hand they have to take into account the sensitivity of the cigarettes to mechanical stress. The two-lane design of the packaging machine doubles the output at a given speed (number of cycles). A special design of a cigarette magazine (26) in conjunction with a group turret (28) ensures that the cigarette groups (21) are formed and inserted into the pockets (64) of the group turret (28) when the packaging machine is performing well. can take place within sufficiently dimensioned cycle times.
Description
The invention relates to a method for packaging objects, in particular cigarettes, by grouping them together into groups (cigarette groups) and wrapping them in at least one blank of packaging material (tin foil, paper or the like), the group being carried along in one Plane is inserted transversely to the conveying direction of the same blank that is kept ready in a pack receptacle (pocket) of a (first) folding conveyor (folding turret) and is folded during further conveying. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for performing the method.
The subject of the invention is a packaging machine, in particular for cigarettes for the production of so-called soft packs. These are usually designed as a soft cup pack, namely with an inner blank made of tinfoil, which completely surrounds the cigarette group to form a tinfoil block, and with a cup-shaped outer wrapper made of a paper blank. This outer covering is open at the top, so that the tinfoil block protrudes slightly from the cup pack. The soft pack formed in this way is usually provided with a further outer covering made of cellophane or plastic film.
Such packaging is produced on high-performance packaging machines. These mostly contain revolving folding revolvers for successively folding the blanks. The performance of the packaging machine is limited with intermittent folding turrets because clocked movements can only be carried out in limited speed ranges. In packaging machines with continuously revolving folding turrets or other folding conveyors, higher turning speeds are possible. However, the insertion of cigarettes or tinfoil blocks or packs into or out of the folding conveyors requires special measures so that the continuity of the movement is maintained throughout. For this reason, continuously running packaging machines have only found limited use in practice.
The invention is based on the object of proposing a packaging machine with cyclically driven folding conveyors (folding turrets) in which the output is nevertheless increased considerably without the need for undesirably high switching speeds for the individual folding conveyors.
To achieve this object, the method according to the invention to be used in packaging machines is that the folding conveyor (folding turret) is preceded by a group conveyor (group turret) which conveys the objects (cigarette groups) in group receptacles (pockets), the objects in the axial direction into and out of the pockets in a transverse axial direction.
In high-performance packaging machines for cigarettes, there is an important problem in the gentle treatment of the cigarettes in such a way that they are protected from severe shock loads as a result of fast-running conveying elements (tappets ..). Another type of mechanical stress for the cigarettes results from the wrapping in the inner blank, namely when it is wrapped around it in a U-shape as a result of being carried by the cigarette group being conveyed. The invention addresses both problems. By ejecting the cigarettes in their axial direction from a conventional cigarette magazine with simultaneous formation of the cigarette groups and inclusion in a group conveyor, short conveyance paths are guaranteed, since the organ (group revolver) forming the cigarette groups connects directly to the cigarette magazine can.
When the cigarette groups are ejected from this group revolver with the U-shaped carry-along blank being carried, the sensitive end faces of the cigarettes are not loaded. Rather, the cut can wrap around the less sensitive long side of the cigarette group due to the transverse axial ejection of the cigarette groups.
A further bottleneck exists in the case of fast-running cigarette packaging machines in the area of transferring the cigarettes from the cigarette magazine to an organ for forming the cigarette groups. The cigarettes are ejected from magazine shafts by means of reciprocating pushers and are inserted into receptacles (pockets) of the group revolver. It must be taken into account that there is sufficient time available for the back and forth movement of the plungers and for the dropping of a sufficient number of cigarettes in the magazine shafts. Especially in multi-lane, z. B. two-lane operation of the packaging machine, it is problematic to do justice to the above technical contradictions.
In the invention, sufficiently dimensioned cycle times are achieved through a special design of the magazine shafts or from shaft groups assigned to a cigarette group and by a training or arrangement of the pockets for receiving the cigarette groups in the group revolver is ensured. The special feature is that a plurality of pockets of the group revolver can be loaded simultaneously via a corresponding number of shaft groups, but on the other hand it is ensured that the cigarettes in the individual magazine shafts can fall down due to their own weight when the plunger is retracted. This is made possible by a fan-like arrangement of the shaft groups, which are therefore only slightly inclined with respect to the vertical. On the other hand, a special relative position of the group receptacles or pockets of the group revolver is provided, such that the pockets, preferably four, each located in a loading station are each directed transversely to the assigned shaft groups. The longitudinal median plane of the pockets is oriented at an angle to both the radial and the tangential.
In order to enable the cigarettes to be inserted in the axial direction and to be moved out axially, the pockets of the group revolver are open at least on one axially directed side and on the side lying outside in the radial direction. A limitation or guidance or holder for the cigarettes is provided here during the filling and during the subsequent transport.
The formed cigarette groups are ejected in the area of an ejection station in a horizontal plane at a distance below the horizontal central plane of the group revolver and inserted into the pocket of a first folding revolver with the aid of a transverse cut. In the area of the same, parts of the blank are folded; additional blanks during ejection or in the area of a subsequent folding path.
This is followed by a second folding turret for attaching the outer cover (paper cut). This is inserted into the empty pocket in a U-shaped shape before the introduction of the already finished tinfoil block. The tinfoil block is therefore inserted into the preformed paper blank that is fixed in the pocket.
Following this second folding turret, a packing tower is provided for accommodating the packs which are ready except for an outer cellophane wrap. In the area of the same, a banderole is attached to the pack by a special banderole apparatus. In the case of a multi-lane configuration of the device, such a banding apparatus is assigned to each lane, namely offset in the transverse direction and in the longitudinal direction. Special services are provided with gentle treatment. of cigarettes achieved by the two-lane operation. The group turret is equipped for this purpose in a special way, namely with double-wide pockets in the axial direction. The pockets are filled in a special way with two groups of cigarettes lying side by side in the axial direction. In the subsequent course of the pack production, the individual measures are carried out simultaneously on the two adjacent cigarette groups or tinfoil blocks or packs.
The group revolver can be designed according to the invention in such a way that the cigarette groups in the pockets are exposed to lateral pressure through an elastically compressible side wall of the pockets.
According to an alternative embodiment of the device or method, otherwise prefabricated tinfoil blocks are fed to a block turret in two lanes. which is comparable in structure and function to the group revolver and which holds two tinfoil blocks in axial direction next to each other. The tinfoil blocks are fed to the pockets of this block turret by special transfer turrets of different sizes, which are arranged in such a way that two tinfoil blocks are inserted into a pocket one after the other.

The exemplary embodiments and details shown in the drawings are dedicated to the production of cigarette packs 20, specifically in the form of a soft pack. In the case of this pack construction, a
The device or packaging machine for the production of such (cigarette) packs 20 consists, according to the exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 1 ff., Of several units.
In an opposite push-
This is followed by a collecting
The
The
The
The finger-like and protruding plungers of the
With the aid of the
For this purpose, the
The
For this purpose, the
The
In the area of the
The aggregates of the present packaging machine are designed to increase the output for two-lane operation. This means that two packs are produced side by side at the same time.
The
The holding members for the
An embodiment of the
Ein radial außenliegendes Keilstück 95 bildet die in Drehrichtung vornliegende Seitenwand der Tasche 64.For this purpose, one of the side walls of the
The
By appropriately designing the
The
In the area of the
As can be seen from FIG. 7, the
The
The
The
The loading of the
The
The
The
The blank 22 is held ready in such a position relative to the packing
The packing
After the retraction of the Aus.toßschiebers 72 in the starting position, the cigarettes in the
The
The
In the area of the
The opposite, upper
After the tinfoil blocks 24 have been inserted into the
The
In the region of an
In the area of the packing towers 38, 39 assigned to each web,
As can be seen from FIGS. 10 to 13, the
Each
During the transport of the
To transfer the
In the transfer position, the
Due to the movement of the
The
The upper packs 20, in each case groups of two packs lying one above the other, are conveyed out of the
An alternative solution with regard to the formation of tinfoil blocks 24 and the introduction thereof into the further packaging process is shown in FIGS. 14 to 16.
In this approach, otherwise manufactured tinfoil blocks 24 are fed in pairs in two parallel tracks by
The transfer turrets 169, 170 are used to transfer the tinfoil blocks 24 from the
The transfer revolvers 169, 170 are designed and arranged such that a
The transfer revolvers 169, 170 are of different sizes, namely they are dimensioned with different diameters. The
At a certain position of the transfer turret 169 (FIG. 14) there is a lower, horizontally oriented
The
For the (simultaneous) transfer of a
In the present exemplary embodiment, too, the
The tinfoil blocks 24 inserted into the
