Description

The invention relates to a mixing device for mixing viscous or pasty masses, in which at least one mixing tool is arranged on at least one rotatably mounted mixer shaft in a mixing vessel. Such viscous or pasty masses usually have great adhesion. After the mixing process has ended, in the known mixing devices of this type the masses adhering to the mixing tools must be manually removed from them and the mixing tools must be cleaned. A press plate must then be placed on the mixing vessel, through which the mixed mass is pressed out of the mixing vessel. Such operations are complex and time-consuming and there is also the disadvantage that the mixed mass in the mixing vessel during the period of cleaning the mixing tools, from which the mixed mass must be returned to the mixing vessel, until the press plate is exposed to the action of the air is exposed. In the case of many masses, the mass already hardens as a result of exposure to air.

From GB-A-1,300,093 a mixing device is known in which a mixing tool is arranged on a mixer shaft mounted in a rotary base and the mixer shaft is guided through the cover so as to be displaceable in the direction of its axis. The lid cannot be moved.

The object of the invention is to facilitate the mixing process and the pressing out of the mixed mass from the mixing container. To achieve this object, the invention consists essentially in the fact that a press plate is movably sealed in the mixing vessel in the direction of the mixer shaft, that the mixer shaft is guided sealingly and displaceable in the direction of its axis through the press plate and that the mixing tool between the press plate and the bottom of the mixing vessel is arranged. The mixing tools are thus arranged from the very beginning between the press plate and the bottom of the mixing vessel. The press plate forms a tight seal of the mixing vessel and, after the mixing process has ended, the mixing tool and the press plate can simply be lowered, thereby allowing the mixed material to be pressed out of the mixing vessel without opening the same. The mixing process and the squeezing process can be carried out from start to finish with the mixing vessel closed, so that access to the air to the mixed material is avoided, and there is no interruption in operation between the mixing process and the squeezing process. According to the invention, the mixing vessel is expediently divided into a base part and a cover part which can be connected tightly to it, the pressure plate being guided tightly in the cover part and in the base part. When the mixing vessel is open i.e. with the lid off, the material to be mixed can be introduced into the mixing vessel. If solid constituents are to be mixed with liquid constituents, the liquid constituents can of course also be introduced into the mixing vessel via feed openings with the lid closed. Naturally, however, the mixing vessel cannot be divided into a lid part and a bottom part, but the mixing vessel can also be formed by a uniform vessel into which the press plate is inserted after the mixed material has been poured in. The division into a base part and a cover part is operationally and structurally cheaper.

The smallest distance between the press plate and the bottom of the mixing vessel is determined by the dimensions of the mixing tool or the mixing tools in the direction of the guide of the press plate. According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the mixing tool therefore has smaller dimensions in the axial direction of the mixer shaft than in the radial direction. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mixing tool is an essentially smooth disk which is perpendicular to the mixer shaft, so that the distance of the press plate from the bottom of the mixing vessel is reduced to a minimum at the end of the extrusion process. Preferably, according to the invention, the arrangement is such that the cover and base part are circular-cylindrical and the mixing tool is a circular disc whose diameter is smaller than the inside diameter of the cover and base part, the outer edge of the circular disc being at a distance from the inner wall of the cover - And bottom part is. Since the shaft on which the mixing tool is arranged can be moved in the axial direction through the press plate, such a circular disc can be moved back and forth during the mixing process in the direction of the axis, the material to be mixed between the outer edge of the circular disc and the inner wall of the mixing vessel can step through. In this way, such a circular disc gives a good mixing effect.

According to the invention, the space between the press plate and the bottom of the mixing vessel can preferably be placed under negative pressure or under vacuum. Since the press plate seals the mixing vessel tightly, the material to be mixed can thus be kept under negative pressure or under vacuum during the entire mixing process and during the entire pressing process. According to the invention, the mixer shaft is expediently arranged vertically. This is advantageous for the filling of the material to be mixed into the mixing vessel and is also advantageous for the mixing process in the mixing vessel and the squeezing process from the mixing vessel. According to the invention, a discharge opening is expediently provided in the area near the floor.

The method according to the invention for operating the mixing device according to the invention essentially consists in the fact that the material to be mixed is inserted into the base part when the cover part is open is brought, the mixing container is evacuated with the lid part closed or placed under negative pressure, that at least during a part of the mixing process the press plate is pressed towards the bottom, that at the end of the mixing process the mixed material is pressed through the press plate through the discharge opening and that after the mixed material has been pressed out, cleaning liquid is sucked in through the pressure plate via the discharge opening into the mixing container.

In the drawing, the invention is shown schematically on the basis of an exemplary embodiment, with FIGS. I to 7 showing the mixing device in various stages of the mixing and pressing process.

The mixing vessel is divided into a bottom part 1 and a lid part 2. In the cover part a press plate 3 is sealingly guided, which can be displaced downwards by hydraulic units, not shown. Between the press plate 3 and the bottom 4 of the mixing vessel 1, 2 is arranged a mixing tool 5 formed by a disc, which can be set in rotation by a shaft 6. The vertical shaft 6 is sealingly in the press plate 3 and guided up and down. The mixing disc 5 is fixed perpendicular to the axis of the shaft 6 on the latter. 7 is a discharge opening. 8 is a closable opening through which a liquid portion of the material to be mixed can be filled into the mixing container 1, 2. 9 is a flange of the cover part 2, which can be placed tightly on a flange 10 of the base part 1 when the mixing vessel is closed.

In Fig. 1, the mixing vessel 1, 2 is shown open. The lid part 2 is lifted off the bottom part 1. In this position, the solid powdery mixture 11 can be poured into the mixing vessel 1, 2.

The cover part 2 is then lowered into the position according to FIG. The flange 9 lies on the flange 10 in a sealing manner. The mixing vessel 1, 2 is evacuated or placed under negative pressure. The disc 5 is lowered. The rotation of the disk 5 can begin, as indicated by an arrow 12.

In Fig. 3 the beginning of the mixing process is shown. The fixed portion 11 of the mix is in the mixing container. The liquid portion 13 is filled through the opening 8. The press plate 3 is still in its upper position.

In Fig. 4 the position of the press plate 3 is shown in the pressed down position. The mixing disk 5 rotates, the shaft being moved up and down in the direction of the arrows 14. The solid portion 11 of the mix is already mixed with the liquid portion 13 of the same. Since the mixing vessel 1, 2 has already been evacuated, there are no air pockets in the material to be mixed and the pressure plate 3 can easily be pressed down with great force.

In the course of the mixing process, as shown in FIG. 5, the press plate 3 is pressed further down. The mixing process continues, with the mixing disk 5 rotating and going up and down. After the mixing process, the shaft 6 with the mixing disc 5 is stopped. The press plate 3 is pressed down, the mixed material being pressed out through the discharge opening 7. The end of the squeezing process is shown in Fig. 6.

After completion of the exit process, the press plate 3 is shifted back up to the position shown in Fig. 7. Cleaning liquid 15, for example a solvent, is drawn into the mixing vessel 1, 2 through the discharge opening 7. The mixing disc 5 is rotated again (arrow 12) and performs an up and down movement (arrows 14), so that the mixing tool 5 and the mixing vessel 1, 2 are cleaned.

The cleaning liquid 15 is then pressed out through the discharge opening 7, the pressure plate 3 and the mixing disk 5 reaching the position shown in FIG. 6. Then the press plate 3 is raised again. The mixing vessel 1, 2 is opened again, as shown in FIG. 1, and the new filling begins.
