Description

The invention relates to an overhead cable installation, in particular a gondola lift having vehicles coupled in line to two parallel carrier-tractor cables with continuous travel by a hanger extending in the vertical plane of symmetry of the cables and articulated to a carriage. carrying at least one pair of disengageable clamps for securing the carriage to the two cables in line and for uncoupling the vehicle in stations by disengaging the clamps for boarding and / or disembarking at reduced or zero speed of passengers, each clamp taking support in position engaged with the clamp on the upper face of the cable and having a small upward projection and a pair of jaws open downward, for laterally enclosing the cable, the end of the jaws flush or slightly protruding from the underside of the cable to facilitate the passage over and under the cable support rollers.

European patent application EP-A-0 093 680 describes an installation of the kind mentioned,. having great lateral stability, by pressing on two spaced cables capable of resuming lateral forces, in particular exerted by the wind on vehicles. The vehicles of this known installation are stable, but they have relatively long conventional lines and their size is large.

A first object of the present invention is the realization of a gondola having vehicles with short suspension and high stability.

A second aim is to allow easy release of the uncoupled vehicle from the cables in the stations.

The installation according to the invention is characterized in that said carriage is disposed above and at a small distance from the roof of the vehicle, the two cables being spaced apart by a distance greater than the width of the vehicle, the latter being cleared in the stations of said cables by a relative upward movement relative to the cables.

By increasing the spacing of the carrier cables the lateral stability of the vehicle is significantly increased, which reduces the length of the hanger, in this case bringing the suspension axis closer to the center of gravity of the vehicle, while retaining sufficient stability. According to the invention, the spacing of the cables is greater than the width of the vehicle, which allows easy release of the uncoupled vehicle from the cables, for example by a downward deflection of the cables in the stations. The installation keeps the standard clamps resting on the cables, as well as the cable drive system in synchronism with known installations, only the bulk, in this case the width of the pylons being slightly increased.

The carriage carries two pairs of clamps, projecting laterally on either side of the vehicle, the shortened hanger of which is articulated on a transverse axis of the chassis of the carriage. This axis can be constituted by a simple transverse beam, arranged substantially at the level of the clamps, the hanger being articulated in the middle of the beam. According to an alternative embodiment, the carriage carries in its central part a support chair for an axis, offset upwards, to allow an extension of the hanger articulated on this axis. The latter solution retains the small height gauge of the vehicle-trolley assembly while having a longer hanger.

The length of the inventive vehicle is advantageously less than its width to limit its inclination during an imbalance of the load concentrated at the front or at the rear. The length of the carriage, on the other hand, is greater than a quarter of its width to ensure, by the four clamps arranged in a rectangle, a rigid quadrilateral connecting the two cables.

At the entrance and exit of the stations, the trolley rolls on support rails by rollers arranged in line with the grippers to resume the reactions of the gripper control forces. On the transfer sections between the entrance and the exit of the station, the vehicle is supported by rollers mounted on the hanger or in the center of the trolley and rolling on a central rail of the monorail type facilitating movement on curved sections . Propulsion is of course provided by any suitable means, in particular by a chain.

According to another development of the invention, the roll movements of the vehicle are limited by a connection between the tension counterweights of the two cables. The balance of a vehicle, which oscillates laterally by increasing the bending of one of the cables, is thus automatically restored by a corresponding bending of the other cable, this connection being arranged so as not to impede slow relative movements of the counterweight.

  • - ta figure 1 est une vue schématique en élévation d'une télécabine selon l'invention ;
  • - la figure 2 est une coupe suivant la ligne II-II de la figure 1 ;
  • - la figure 3 est une vue en plan de la télécabine- selon la figure 1 ;
Other advantages and characteristics of the invention will emerge more clearly from the description which follows of two embodiments of the invention, given by way of nonlimiting examples and represented in the appended drawings, in which:
  • - Your Figure 1 is a schematic elevational view of a gondola according to the invention;
  • - Figure 2 is a section along the line II-II of Figure 1;
  • - Figure 3 is a plan view of the gondola- according to Figure 1;
  • - Figures 4 and 5 are views similar to those of Figures 1 and 2, illustrating an alternative embodiment of the invention.

In the figures, two carrier-towing cables 10, 12 of a gondola extend parallel between two stations (not shown) equipped with return pulleys. The two cables 10, 12 constitute two endless loops with continuous scrolling arranged at the same horizontal level and carrying vehicles or cabins 14 coupled in line to the cables, to circulate in a closed circuit on the outward and return tracks formed by the two cable loops. In the stations, the vehicles 14 are uncoupled from the cables in order to travel at reduced speed on transfer rails at embarkation and disembarkation platforms for passengers. The two carrier-tractor cables 10, 12 are driven in synchronism by suitable motors, for example of the type described in the aforementioned patent application. Each vehicle 14 has a central hanger 16, the free end of which is articulated on a transverse axis 18, carried by a carriage 20. In the embodiment according to Figures 1-3, the carriage 20 comprises a rectangular frame and four clamps 22 for coupling to the cables 10, 12 articulated at the four corners of the chassis. The carriage 20 is interposed between the cables 10, 12 and the clamps 22 of the standard type projecting from the side, bear on the top of the cables 10, 12 by enclosing them by two jaws, controlled by a pivoting lever 24 and a closing spring. (not shown). The opening of the clamps 22 is caused by a lowering of the levers 24 in the passage of a control flap, extending along the track at the entrance and at the exit of the stations. The reaction of the control force is taken up by rollers 26, arranged in the vicinity of the clamps 22 on the carriage 20 and rolling on support rails which extend in the clutching and disengaging areas of the clamps 22.

Such gondolas with one or two carrier cables are well known and it is unnecessary to describe in more detail their constitution and operation.

According to the invention, the spacing of the two carrying cables 10, 12 is greater than the gauge, in this case the width 1 of the vehicle 14 to allow the uncoupled vehicle to be released from the cables 10, 12, for example by a downward deviation of cables from vehicle in stations. The large spacing of the carrying cables 10, 12 ensures good stability of the vehicle 14, the hanger of which can be shortened and boil down to a connecting rod between the vehicle 14 and the carriage 20. The latter is arranged just above the roof of the vehicle 14 and the size of the carriage 20, vehicle 14 assembly is reduced to the maximum. In the variant according to Figures 1 to 3, the axis 18 of articulation of the hanger 16 is carried by two vertical chairs 28 integral with the carriage 20 to offset the point of articulation slightly upward relative to the carriage and increase the distance from the center of gravity of the vehicle 14 to the axis 18. At the end 30 of the hanger 16 is rigidly fixed a second carriage 32 with a narrow track, carrying four rollers 34, which roll in the stations on one or more rails transfer like a monorail. This second carriage 32 is small, which facilitates circulation on the curved tracks in the station. It is clear that this second carriage 32 can be integral or be constituted by a part of the main carriage 20.

The floor 36 of the vehicle 14 is advantageously of cylindrical shape with an axis coinciding with the axis 18 of articulation of the hanger 16 in order to avoid any friction on the ground of the stations during a longitudinal oscillation of the vehicle 14.

The hanger 16 is articulated at the center of a transverse beam 38 carrying at its ends two longitudinal members 40 with the rollers 26. The beam assembly 38, longitudinal members 40 and rollers 26 constitutes a simplified carriage attached to the roof of the vehicle 14. This carriage carries in its central part the second carriage 32 with narrow gauge for circulation on the transfer rail of the station. Other embodiments of the support carriages are conceivable while retaining the advantage of using standard elements of gondola lifts and of easy clearance of the vehicle embedded between the carrier-tractor cables 10. 12.

The length of the vehicle 14 is preferably less than its width to limit the inclinations of the vehicle during a concentration of passengers at the front or at the rear. The length of the carriage 20 must be greater than a quarter of its width to form a rigid connection frame between the carrier-tractor cables 10, 12, which maintains the synchronism of movement of the two cables, as described in the aforementioned patent application .

The roll movements of the vehicle 14 are limited by a mechanical connection between the counterweights or tensioners of the two cables 10, 12. which requires identical vertical movements of the two cables. This link is arranged to allow an initial adjustment of the tension of each cable.
