- a classification hole 39 appears at least approximately circular (FIG. 5).
- the upward bulge 40 is designed such that it rises linearly in the transport direction from a point 42, which lies in the plane of the sieve plate 25, to the apex 43 of the classifying hole 39.
- the downward bulge 41 corresponds in shape and size to the upward bulge 40.
- the bulges 40, 41 are distributed over the sieve plate 25 in such a way that there are two downward bulges 41 (two upward bulges 40) in the immediate vicinity of an upward bulge 40 (a downward bulge 41).
- the classification holes 39 are thus arranged in parallel rows, the classification holes of two adjacent rows being offset from one another.
- the bulges 40, 41 appear as bevels 44, 45, which are at an angle of approximately 30 ° to the sieve plate plane 48.
- the difference between the sieve plates 25 and 26 lies in the different width of the classification holes 39.
- the direction of transport of the screen conveyor is indicated by arrow 47. Because of the oscillating movement of the sieve bottom 25, tobacco leaf parts which have accumulated in front of the bevel 44 pass over it and either fall directly into the relevant classification hole 39 or onto the bevel 45. Only the tobacco leaf parts which lie on the bevel 45 and their dimensions are smaller than the hole width of the classification hole 39, fall through this. The too large parts are thrown out of the depression 46 by the oscillating movement of the sieve bottom 25 and transported in the direction of the arrow 47. Because of the kink-free edges of the classification holes, the material to be screened is virtually prevented from getting caught with these edges. Should screenings nevertheless get stuck in the classification holes, this screenings will be torn out of the classification holes by the oscillating movement of the screen bottom.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tobacco classifying device with a sieve bottom having classifying holes, which is movably guided on a stationary frame and is driven by an oscillating drive.
Tobacco classifiers with a vibrating screen are known. In the simplest case, the vibrating screen consists of a fine-mesh wire mesh, which is held by a frame. By applying the screenings, which consist of tobacco leaf parts of different sizes and shapes, and then shaking the screen, the screenings are split into a fine and a coarse fraction. With large sieve trays there is a risk of sagging of the fine-mesh wire mesh. In addition, such tobacco classifying devices have the disadvantage that the sieve holes become clogged due to the irregular shape of the leaf parts of the material to be sieved. By simple and moving, as they carry out such tobacco classifying devices, once sieve holes have been clogged, it is not easy to open them again and after a certain time it is necessary to clean the sieve bottoms, which reduces the sieving performance of such a system. Another disadvantage of known tobacco classifying devices is that the coarse fraction is not removed during the screening process.
The invention has for its object to provide a usable in-line tobacco classifying device of the type mentioned, in which the clogging of the classifying holes is prevented by the screenings and in which the coarse fraction migrates over the screen bottom.
To achieve this object, it is provided according to the invention that the sieve bottom is the transport surface of an oscillating conveyor and that the opposite edges of each classifying hole which run transversely to the transport direction run at different heights - in relation to the plane of the transport surface - the opening surface of each classifying hole under one is different from zero angle to the transport surface.
Since the sieve floor is the transport surface of an oscillating conveyor, the sieving process takes place while the material to be sieved moves over the sieve floor. The blockage of the sieve holes by the material to be screened is avoided in that the opening surface of each classifying hole is not in the plane of the transport surface and thus an angle other than zero with it forms. This construction of the classifying holes prevents that tobacco leaf parts are partially pressed into the classifying holes by material lying above them, as can happen when using known vibrating screens. The special design of the sieve trays also has a positive effect on the bending rigidity of the sieve trays, so that the area spanned by the sieve trays is larger than is the case with tobacco classifying devices of a known type of comparable size.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the angle enclosed by the opening area of each classifying hole and the transport area is greater than 45 ° and in particular is approximately 75 °. The opening surface of a classifying hole is inclined to the transport surface in such a way that the - in relation to the transport direction - the front edge of each classifying hole running transversely to the transport direction is arranged above the transport surface and the rear edge below the transport surface. The area of the sieve bottom immediately before - in relation to the direction of transport - a classification hole is arched upwards, the area behind the classification hole is arched downwards, so that the tobacco leaf parts in the immediate vicinity in front of a classification hole move upwards due to the oscillating movement of the sieve bottom, and then from to fall into this classifying hole or into the downward bulge at the top.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the cross section of the classification holes when projected onto a perpendicular to the transport surface extending transverse plane is at least approximately circular. This means that the classification holes have essentially continuous boundaries. Here, the risk of hooking and wedging of the tobacco leaf parts with the classifying holes is relatively small compared to sieve trays with rectangular classifying holes. Should a piece of tobacco leaf nevertheless get stuck in a classifying hole, it will be torn out of the classifying hole by the swinging movement of the sieve bottom. The tobacco classifier therefore has a self-cleaning effect.
In addition to the self-cleaning effect, the high screening performance of this tobacco classification device also results from the fact that the classification holes are arranged in parallel rows and the classification holes of adjacent rows are offset from one another. This measure allows a maximum of many classification holes to be arranged on a sieve tray.
To split the material to be screened into more than two fractions during one operation, the invention provides that at least two sieve trays with different hole widths are arranged one below the other. In addition, it is provided that each sieve plate is exchangeably attached to a swing frame. A particularly simple loading of the tobacco classifying device with screenings or a simple removal of the different fractions results from the fact that the vibratory conveyor rises from the end of the feed to the end of the discharge.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the
The
The top view of a section of the
The sieving and conveying process is to be illustrated with reference to FIG. 4.
The direction of transport of the screen conveyor is indicated by
