Definitions
- the subject of the invention is a sectoral sprinkler device which can be used for coal mining in order to reduce the production of dust and cool the tools in order to minimize the risk of explosion in gassy atmospheres.
- Coal mining is carried out in particular using integral cutters, which are provided with one or more movable arms carrying a drum armed with picks and whose axis is perpendicular to the face.
- the picks are placed on the one hand on the cylindrical surface of the drum, on the other hand on its flat face located on the side of the cutting face, which is often called rusting disc.
- the peaks of the rusting disc permanently attack the massif, while only part of the peaks of the cylindrical surface is, at a given moment, in contact with the coal. Relative to the shearer, the position of these peaks corresponds to a cylindrical sector of the drum.
- the lifting arm is likely to occupy either a high position (felling on the roof), or a low position (felling on the wall).
- a high position (felling on the roof), or a low position (felling on the wall).
- a cylindrical drum sector To each of these positions corresponds, for the peaks in contact with the coal at a given instant, a cylindrical drum sector, these two sectors generally overlapping in part.
- the cutters often have two cutting arms, one of which, placed at the front of the machine, is in the high position, while the other, placed at the rear, is in the low position.
- the position of the arms is reversed before changing its direction of movement
- the main object of the invention is, therefore, to achieve a device for distributing sprinkling water mounted in the central part of a slaughter drum and comprising three supply circuits which provide permanent supply rust disk peaks and selective feeding of the peaks of two lateral cylindrical sectors as a function of the direction of horizontal movement of the drum.
- a cutting drum having an end face provided with peaks, called a rusting disc, a cylindrical surface provided with peaks in which there are two opposite cylindrical sectors having two diametrically opposite parts and capable of having a common part, this drum also having an area central by which it is mounted on a fixed shaft which has at least one free end face, according to the invention, there are provided in the shaft and in the central zone of the drum three concentric pipes to the shaft and to the drum in which there is a first cylindrical inner pipe, a second annular intermediate pipe and a third annular outside pipe which are each connected by one of their ends to a water inlet comprising a stop valve; these pipes each individually lead either to channels leading to the peaks of the rusting disc, or to suitable annular sectoral chambers formed on the shaft, to which correspond channels which are distributed circumferentially on the drum and which are each joined, for example, by a hose at a corresponding peak
- the first cylindrical inner pipe leads to the peaks of the rusting disc.
- the second intermediate pipe is longer by its end end portion than the third external pipe and several radial channels join these pipes to the corresponding annular sectoral chambers which are located in transverse planes spaced in the axial direction.
- these supply channels are connected by their outer ends to water inlet tubes; their inner ends are extended by internal passages up to the ends of the pipes.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows a first cutting drum 1 and a second cutting drum 2 which equip a cutting machine moving horizontally from right to left, as indicated by an arrow F ,.
- the first drum 1 is in the high position and the second drum 2 is in the low position.
- the cutter moves in the opposite direction F, after tilting of the drums 1, 2 as indicated by arrows F "so that the first drum 1 moves to the low position and the second drum 2 moves to the high position.
- FIG. 2 shows more clearly the change in the active sectors by which the coal is attacked, which results from a change in the high or low position of the drum 1 following its tilting along F ,, around a center 0.
- the entire left cylindrical sector G of the lateral surface of the drum 1 is active over 180 °.
- the right cylindrical sector D is active over 120 °. Due to tilting the two sectors G and D have a common part C indicated by tight hatching which is always active.
- the sectoral sprinkler device of the invention provides this result. In addition, it ensures the permanent supply of water to the rusting disc peaks which attack the carbon in the two drum positions 1.
- a cutting drum 1 being well known to those skilled in the art and, as it is not generally concerned with the invention, it will not be described in detail.
- This drum 1 has a central part 2 which is rotatably mounted on a shaft 3 which is stationary in rotation (FIG. 5).
- This tree 3 is hollow; it is dug with longitudinal holes with stepped diameters which contain three tubes 4,5,6 concentric with each other and concentric with the axis of the shaft 3, thus making appear a first cylindrical inner pipe 7, a second annular intermediate pipe 8 and a third annular external pipe 9, also concentric.
- the first cylindrical interior pipe 7 is extended by a channel 7A up to a central connection piece 10 from which flexible hoses 10A leave which lead to the peaks of the rusty disc.
- the second intermediate pipe 8 of the third external pipe 9 ends in end portions situated in transverse planes IV-IV and III-III respectively, spaced in axial direction from the shaft 3, in which radial channels 11 are formed, 12 respectively.
- the radial channels 12 end, in the thickness of the shaft 3, in an annular sectoral chamber 13, contained in this plane III-III, hollowed out on the surface of the shaft 3, and developing over 180 °.
- radial channels 14 are provided in the central part 2 of the drum 1; their number corresponds to that of the peaks of the lateral face of the drum 1 and they are regularly spaced in the circumferential direction. They are each extended in the drum 1 by longitudinal channels 15 and then by terminal radial channels 16 (FIG. 5) which lead to connection end pieces 17 from which flexible hoses 18. These last each extend respectively to peaks of the lateral surface of the drum.
- the two annular sectoral chambers 13 and 19 are arranged, in circumferential direction, in correspondence with the active sectors G and D of the drum 1 (FIG. 1) and they overlap in accordance with the common part C.
- the peaks which are joined to the radial channels 14 and 20 are supplied with water only when these channels pass, in rotation, opposite the sectoral chambers 13 and 19.
- the latter are supplied with water by the third annular external pipe 9 or by the second annular intermediate pipe 8 according to the high or low position of the drum 1.
- Das non-return valves 22, 23 are provided on the longitudinal channels 15, 21 (FIG. 5) to prevent the water sent by one circuit from flowing back through the other circuit
- the concentric pipes 7, 8, 9 are supplied with water, continuously for the pipe 7, alternately for the pipes 8, 9 at the end of the shaft 3 remote from the rusting disc of the drum, preferably from the as will now be described with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7.
- each pipe opens into a volume supply 24, 25, 26 respectively located in its extension.
- These volumes 24, 25, 26 and the end parts of the tubes 4,5, 6 are located in a fixed part 27 ending in a disc 28 arranged in a plane transverse to the axis of the cutting drum.
- This disc 28 has the thickness Just sufficient to allow the digging of radial supply channels 29,30,31,32. The latter are therefore spaced in circumferential direction; at their outer ends, they are connected to water inlet tubes 33, 34, 35, 36 respectively.
- the radial supply channel 29 opens directly into the supply volume 26 of the first cylindrical inner pipe 7.
- the radial supply channel 30 is connected by internal passages (a longitudinal passage 37 then a radial passage 38 hollowed out in the fixed part 27) to the supply volume 25 of the second intermediate annular pipe 8.
- the two supply channels 31, 32 both terminate in the supply volume 24 of the third external annular pipe 9 via internal passages longitudinal 39 and radial 40.
- the extent in the circumferential direction of the sectorial chambers 13: 1 9 is selected in correspondence with the active inventory cylindrical sectors G, D A cutting drum.
- the extent of the active sector G in the high position of the drum is generally 180 °, although it may be desired to sprinkle over a greater extent capable of reaching approximately 210 °.
- the angular extent of the active sector D in the lower position of the drum is variable depending on the height of the cutting face; it can be in practice between 60 and 180 °.

Description
The subject of the invention is a sectoral sprinkler device which can be used for coal mining in order to reduce the production of dust and cool the tools in order to minimize the risk of explosion in gassy atmospheres.
Coal mining is carried out in particular using integral cutters, which are provided with one or more movable arms carrying a drum armed with picks and whose axis is perpendicular to the face. The picks are placed on the one hand on the cylindrical surface of the drum, on the other hand on its flat face located on the side of the cutting face, which is often called rusting disc. During the cutting, the peaks of the rusting disc permanently attack the massif, while only part of the peaks of the cylindrical surface is, at a given moment, in contact with the coal. Relative to the shearer, the position of these peaks corresponds to a cylindrical sector of the drum. In general, the lifting arm is likely to occupy either a high position (felling on the roof), or a low position (felling on the wall). To each of these positions corresponds, for the peaks in contact with the coal at a given instant, a cylindrical drum sector, these two sectors generally overlapping in part.
Lorsque la haveuse arrive en bout de taille, la position des bras est inversée avant que l'on change son sens de déplacementThe cutters often have two cutting arms, one of which, placed at the front of the machine, is in the high position, while the other, placed at the rear, is in the low position. When the cutter reaches the end of its size, the position of the arms is reversed before changing its direction of movement
It is known to spray water on the massif to be felled in the vicinity of each peak. There are spikes specially designed for this purpose, presenting a water ejection nozzle at a suitable location.
Il est souhaitable de réduire au strict minimum nécessaire la consommation de l'eau utilisée et par conséquent, de n'alimenter à un instant donné que les pics qui sont en contact avec le charbon, c'est-à-dire d'une part les pics du disque rouilleur, d'autre part les pics du secteur cylindrique qui sont en contact avec le massif à cet instantIt is desirable to reduce the consumption of the water used to the strict minimum necessary and therefore, to supply at a given moment only the peaks which are in contact with the coal, that is to say on the one hand the peaks of the rusting disc, on the other hand the peaks of the cylindrical sector which are in contact with the solid mass at this instant
The main object of the invention is, therefore, to achieve a device for distributing sprinkling water mounted in the central part of a slaughter drum and comprising three supply circuits which provide permanent supply rust disk peaks and selective feeding of the peaks of two lateral cylindrical sectors as a function of the direction of horizontal movement of the drum.
Sur un tambour de havage ayant face extrême munie de pics, appelée disque rouilleur, une surface cylindrique munie de pics dans laquelle on distingue deux secteurs cylindriques opposés ayant deux parties diamétralement opposées et susceptibles d'avoir une partie commune, ce tambour ayant aussi une zone centrale par laquelle il est monté sur un arbre fixe qui présente au moins une face extrême libre, selon l'invention, il est prévu dans l'arbre et dans la zone centrale du tambour trois canalisations concemtriques à l'arbre et au tambour dans lesquelles il existe une première canalisation intérieure cylindrique, une deuxième canalisation intermédiaire annulaire et une troisième canalisation extérieure annulaire qui sont raccordées chacune par l'une de leurs extrémités à une arrivée d'eau comprenant une vanne d'arrêt ; ces canalisations aboutissent individuellement chacune soit à des canaux conduisant aux pics du disque rouilleur, soit à des chambres sectorielles annulaires convenables ménagées sur l'arbre, auxquelles correspondent des canaux qui sont répartis circonférentiellement sur la tambour et qui sont réunis chacun, par exemple, par un flexible à un pic correspondantOn a cutting drum having an end face provided with peaks, called a rusting disc, a cylindrical surface provided with peaks in which there are two opposite cylindrical sectors having two diametrically opposite parts and capable of having a common part, this drum also having an area central by which it is mounted on a fixed shaft which has at least one free end face, according to the invention, there are provided in the shaft and in the central zone of the drum three concentric pipes to the shaft and to the drum in which there is a first cylindrical inner pipe, a second annular intermediate pipe and a third annular outside pipe which are each connected by one of their ends to a water inlet comprising a stop valve; these pipes each individually lead either to channels leading to the peaks of the rusting disc, or to suitable annular sectoral chambers formed on the shaft, to which correspond channels which are distributed circumferentially on the drum and which are each joined, for example, by a hose at a corresponding peak
Preferably, the first cylindrical inner pipe leads to the peaks of the rusting disc.
Preferably also, the second intermediate pipe is longer by its end end portion than the third external pipe and several radial channels join these pipes to the corresponding annular sectoral chambers which are located in transverse planes spaced in the axial direction.
On a lifting arm, the space available in the axial direction is extremely limited.
According to the invention, advantageously, at their ends remote from the rusty disc of the drum, the pipes formed in the shaft end near a fixed transverse disc in which are hollowed out radial feed channels in the same plane perpendicular to the axis of the drum; these supply channels are connected by their outer ends to water inlet tubes; their inner ends are extended by internal passages up to the ends of the pipes. In this way, with a small footprint in the axial direction, it is possible to feed by several water inlet tubes and several internal passages, any one of the pipes, according to the required watering rate.

Du fait de basculement les deux secteurs G et D ont une partie commune C indiquée par des hachures serrées qui est toujours active.FIG. 2 shows more clearly the change in the active sectors by which the coal is attacked, which results from a change in the high or low position of the
The peaks of the common part C of the sectors need to be constantly sprinkled, those of the rest of the left cylindrical sector G and those of the rest of the right cylindrical sector D need to be watered only when the cutting drum is in position high or low respectively The sectoral sprinkler device of the invention provides this result. In addition, it ensures the permanent supply of water to the rusting disc peaks which attack the carbon in the two
A cutting drum 1 being well known to those skilled in the art and, as it is not generally concerned with the invention, it will not be described in detail. This
At the extreme part of the
The second
In plan IV-IV, there is a provision similar to that just described. The
On the supply water inlet side, the
The extent in the circumferential direction of the sectorial chambers 13: 1 9 is selected in correspondence with the active inventory cylindrical sectors G, D A cutting drum. The extent of the active sector G in the high position of the drum is generally 180 °, although it may be desired to sprinkle over a greater extent capable of reaching approximately 210 °. The angular extent of the active sector D in the lower position of the drum is variable depending on the height of the cutting face; it can be in practice between 60 and 180 °.
