Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a shredding machine for elongated pieces of wood, e.g. Wooden beams or tree trunks, in which a knife with a cutting edge that is transverse to the wood fiber direction is arranged on a slide that can be pushed forward intermittently.
Such machines cut the clippings into more or less large pieces across the grain. The previously known and commercially available machines, however, have the disadvantage that their power requirement is very high and that the transverse pieces of wood are not split in the direction of the fibers.
The invention is based on the object of demonstrating a wooden beam comminution machine with considerably less power, which also splits the divided pieces of wood in the direction of the fibers if necessary.
This object is achieved according to
In order to split particularly tough pieces of wood in the direction of fibers, at least one splitting knife is arranged on the cutting knife in each case in a plane perpendicular to the latter and directed towards the material to be cut.
The knife is advantageously fastened interchangeably to the slide by means of a wedge piece which is beveled in the same direction; the wedge angle of the knife is between 20 ° and 40 ° and that of the wedge piece is about 45 °. The wooden parts are exposed to such strong tensile stresses that they break open transversely to the grain, which promotes drying and handling during heating.
A preferably adjustable crank gear, possibly with a reduction gear, can be used to occupy the pendulum-suspended carriage provided with a cutting knife.
A hydraulic cylinder / piston unit can also be used for this; the slide is then advantageously suspended by a sliding guide piece. Furthermore, a stanae can then be fastened in parallel on the slide, each bearing a stop for the upper and lower dead center of the slide movement: there is on the sliding guide piece mounted in a mechanically controllable by these attacks hydraulic valve, the selected e-by a spring in the g Stellunq is maintained. During the lifting process of the slide together with the knife, the sliding guide piece swings back until it strikes the first, that is to say upper, control device as soon as the knife has moved out of the cutting groove. During the lowering process, the knife first engages with a fairly large angle of attack a certain length before the end of the clippings and pushes them forward until the sliding guide piece snakes on the second, ie lower, adjusting device. From there, the cut is made with a smaller angle of attack.
The further back the slideway piece, including the slide and knife, the thicker the cut pieces of wood become: this thickness can therefore be adjusted using these two adjusting devices; it gets smaller the thicker the clippings. If you want to achieve a uniform thickness of the pieces of wood, an adjustable stop is attached to the lower end of the clippings at the rear end of the clippings channel; the second, lower setting device is then gafs. superfluous.
In order to improve the supply of clippings, the clippings channel can be designed to be funnel-shaped in the transport direction. In order to be able to process several thin clippings next to each other, the bottom of the clippings channel is recessed in the shape of a trough towards its cross-section center: sloping plates that cover the lower corners of the clippings channel are used for further improvement. An unintentional pushing back of the clippings can be prevented by pivoting peaks or sharp-edged flaps on the inside of the clippings duct, which slightly penetrate into the clippings above; also the bottom of the clippings channel in the transport direction should be stepped or sawtooth-shaped. Finally, support rollers can be attached to the clearing of the clippings channel at its rear end, on which the clippings are pushed by the knife before the cutting process begins.
The end of the lowering movement is designed to be adjustable in order to compensate for knife wear. The reversal of the carriage movement from lifting to lowering takes place when the lower end of the carriage has passed over the first, upper actuating device.
