Description

The known built-in ironing boards are arranged in a base cabinet or below the table top of a work table. The board plate itself is pivoted on one or more pairs of parallelogram links on a pull-out, which in turn is slidably mounted in a guide. The ironing board can be pivoted from a lower rest position into an upper working position, in which case it is usually in one plane with the countertop of the base cabinet or the table top and strikes against it. The swiveling from one position to the other is done either by springs or by hand. In both cases, however, a special locking is required at least in the upper working position, and the fittings previously used are relatively complex.

From FR-PS 1 211 255 an extendable table is already known, the extension plate of which is mounted in the same way as for the ironing boards, but has a downwardly bent rod at its rear end, which interacts with a fixed stop on the table frame in such a way that it interacts the extension plate automatically swivels into its working position when the train is pulled out and is supported with its rear edge on the actual table top. The length of the bar is determined by the distance between the stop and the edge of the table top. The space required in depth therefore consists of the length of the extension plate and the rod. This results in a considerable shortening of the actual extension plate. Since the cranked part of the rod also moves upwards during the lifting movement, it must be long enough to still touch the stop in the working position. As a result, there is also an additional space requirement in terms of height. Since built-in ironing boards are usually arranged in kitchen drawers and should take up as little space as possible, the known construction is only suitable for this purpose to a limited extent.

The object of the present invention is to achieve an automatic pivoting of the board in the respective position when pulling out the train with simple fittings and with the smallest space requirement in an ironing board of the type described. This is achieved according to the invention in that the stop member is designed as a member that is effective when the pull-out is extended, in particular a wire rope, which is fastened to the guide or to a part firmly connected to it. If such a board is pulled out of a position below the worktop or table top by means of the pull-out, the movable member holds the ironing board shortly before the end of the movement of the pull-out, so that when the pull-out moves further, the handlebars pivot upwards , whereby the board plate rises to the upper working position. When the pull-out is pushed in, the process is reversed, and the board plate lowers again into the rest position in accordance with the insertion movement of the pull-out. Special steps to raise or lower the board are not required with this construction, and the additional equipment required is simply a simple wire rope. The board top can have the same length as the actual table top or the pull-out and the height can be kept so narrow that only a little space is used.

In order to make the moving link effective when the extension is extended, you can either use a wire rope that corresponds at least to the export length of the extension, or you can attach the link to a towing anchor. This is slidably mounted in a rail running along the extension guide with an end stop. The self-moving link only becomes effective when the towing anchor strikes the stop.

Most of the known ironing boards are collapsible, with the front part folded over onto the rear part in the rest position. In a special embodiment of the present invention, the front part has a swivel bracket or the like hanging freely downward in the working position, which engages in a latching device on the pull-out. As a result, the position of the pull-out relative to the ironing board is fixed, so that it is impossible to accidentally push the pull-out when the front part is pivoted out. The latching device preferably consists of an inclined guide and a latching groove adjoining it, which is closed by a front panel of the pull-out.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention. They represent:
  • 1 shows the broken cross section of a work table with built-in ironing board in the open position,
  • Fig. A representation of FIG. 1 in the closed position.

Below the worktop 2 of a cabinet 1, a telescopic pull-out 3 is mounted in a guide rail 4 so as to be longitudinally displaceable. At the end part 5 of the telescopic extension 3, the rear part 6 of a board plate 7 is pivotally mounted by means of two pairs of parallel links 8 arranged on both sides. On the rear part 6 of the board plate 7, a front part 9 is pivoted at 10.

In the closed position shown in FIG. 2, the front part 9 of the board plate 7 is folded over onto the rear part 6 and both parts are in a lower rest position. Above the guide 4, parallel to it, a rail 11 is attached to the cabinet 1, in which a drag anchor 12 is slidably mounted and on free end of the rail 11 an end stop 13 is provided. The towing anchor 12 is connected by a wire cable 14 to a tab 15 arranged on the rear part 6 of the board plate 7. The extract 3 is closed at its free end by an aperture 16 with a handle 17.

If the pull-out 3 is pulled outwards from the rest position according to FIG. 2 by means of the handle 17, the wire rope 14 pulls the towing anchor 12 in the rail 11 forward until it abuts the end stop 13. The board 7 is then held in place and can no longer move with the extract 3. As a result, the handlebar pairs 8 pivot in the opposite direction of the arrow 18 upwards over the dead center position until their lower lever parts 19 rest against the stops 20 and thus the working position is reached. At the same time, the rear edge 25 of the rear part 6 of the board 7 also bears against the table top 2 and forms a second stop. If pressure is exerted on the board plate 7 in this position, the handlebar pairs 8 emit a force component in the pull-out direction, so that there is no danger that the pull-out 3 will be accidentally pushed in by the working movements.

At the front end 9 of the board plate 7, a pivot bracket 21 is mounted, which comes to rest in the rest position according to FIG. 2 above the front part 9. When the rear part 6 of the board 7 is in its working position during the pull-out movement, the front part 9 is folded forward, with the swivel bracket 21 hanging freely downwards. It then slides over an inclined guide 22 of a locking device 23 into a locking groove 24, which is closed at the front by the cover 16. The swivel bracket 21 serves, on the one hand, to support the front part 9 and, on the other hand, prevents the pull-out 3 from being pushed in unintentionally by means of the handle 17, because then the panel 16 would strike the swivel lever 21. Only when the front part 9 is lifted is the latch released again and the extract 3 can be inserted.
