Die horizontale Kante 46 dient zum Abzählen der Maschen und die vertikale Kante 47 zum Abzählen der Maschenreihen, wie aus den Symbolen und Texten auf den Rahmenstegen 14, 15 zu ersehen ist. Die beim Abzählen der Maschen erlangte Maschenzahl ist die Maschendichte, nämlich die Anzahl der Maschen pro Dezimeter. Diese Größe ist abhängig von der Stricknadel-Stärke und der Garndicke. Die Platte 10 ist zugleich im Bereich des Quadranten 17 als Stricknadellehre ausgebildet, indem kreisförmige Durchbrüche 50, wie aus Fig. 1 zu ersehen ist, längs der Radialkante 49 und in der Ringzone 51 um die Anlenkachse 33 des Zeigers 30 herum in verschiedenen Dimensionen angeordnet sind. Durch entsprechende Benennungen 52 ist jeder Durchbruch 50 identifizierbar. Zum Meßvorgang wird die Stricknadel mit ihrer Spitze in einen ausgewählten Durchbruch 50 eingeführt. In dieser Spalte 53 erscheinen also Längenmaße. Abgestimmt mit jeder Zahl in dieser Spalte 53 liegen in den erwähnten Skalen 25, 26 die entsprechenden Ziffern in kreisbogenförmiger Anordnung, welche die Anzahl der Maschen für das jeweilige Längenmaß angeben. Durch Aufaddierung dieser Maschenzahlen erhält man für jedes Längen-Zwischenmaß die Gesamtzahl der Maschen, wie in dem Rechenbeispiel rechts oben in der Ecke des Rahmens 13 von Fig. 1 angegeben ist. that the frame (13) and/or its plate-shaped enlargement (17) is also designed as knitting needle gauge and has apertures (50) defined by associated diameter data (52).
3. A device as claimed in the claim 1 or 2,

that the frame (13) and/or its plate-shaped enlargement (17) is designed on both surface sides (11, 12), preferably complementary scale- wise, as knitting calculator and/or knitting needle gauge.

that the plate-shaped enlargement is designed as circular sector (17), preferably as quadrant, wherein the columns of numbers are arranged along circular arcs (28) and radii (27) and have a pointer (30) guided for swinging movement (57) across the circular sector (17), said pointer being pivoted (33) in the area of the circle center.

that the circular sector (17) is provided in the peripheral area (40) with a circular slot (39) extending concentrically to the swing axis (33) of the twin-pointer (30) and the circular slot (39) has passing therethrough a connection (34) provided between the two pointer arms (31, 32).

that in the area of the connection (34) the index mark (45) of the pointer (30) is arranged like a pointer tip and is directed towards an arcuated row of numbers (42) indicating the stitch density and is applied preferably on both frame sides (11, 12) in the peripheral area (40) defining the circular slot (39).
