- the subject of the present invention is a bar for a wristwatch, either for fixing the bracelet to the box, or for connecting two elements of the bracelet to each other, comprising a cylindrical body provided at its ends with two axially retractable cylindrical elements in the cylindrical body and intended to engage in horn holes or between the cheeks of a bracelet link or a clasp by parts of diameter less than the diameter of the parts permanently engaged in the cylindrical body.
- Bars with telescopic ends have been known for a long time, constituted by a tubular cylindrical body containing a spring working in compression and now separated by two cylindrical pivots housed in cylindrical holes in the horns of watch cases (CH-A- 239 046).
- These bars have the advantage of being able to be introduced between the horns by pushing the pivots into the tubular body, these pivots coming automatically to be housed in the cylindrical holes of the horns when they arrive opposite them. Such bars are not locked axially.
- the object of the present invention is to produce an axially lockable bar, so that once it has been put in place, it cannot be removed by axial compression, the compression spring therefore being able to be eliminated; this must be carried out without means of fixing independent of the bar.

- the ends of these threaded parts 9 and 10 are provided with a slot screws 11, respectively 12.
- the cylindrical elements 3 and 4 are first of all pushed back inside the tube 1, as for a usual spring bar, in order to be able to introduce the bar between the horns 13 and 14. Once opposite the horn holes, the elements 3 and 4 are screwed into the horn holes by means of a screwdriver.
- the cylindrical parts 7 and 8 can either be engaged in a smooth part of the bar holes, or come into abutment against the outer face of a narrower horn than shown.

- the cylindrical elements 16 and 17 are first retracted by screwing them in. inside the tube 15, then the bar is placed between the horns 21 and 22 and the elements 16 and 17 are unscrewed by means of a screwdriver so as to penetrate their smooth cylindrical part 19, respectively 20 into the holes horn.
- the screw slot can be located entirely outside the horns so that the protruding end can be removed and with it the screw slots, for example by emery-proofing, so as to condemn the bar by simultaneously making the screw slot disappear and by polishing the end of the bars.
