Screen printing machines of this type generally also provide that these gripper bars also convey the printed sheet further to a delivery station, so that the deflection and return only then begins.
- a disadvantage of these machines is that, because of the return through the entire machine base, many gripper bars are required for a machine and that the construction and space requirements for such machines is relatively large.
- the invention has for its object to design a screen printing machine of the type mentioned so that as few gripper bars are necessary for the transport of printed matter on the printing table, but without the disadvantage of excessive dead times.
- the invention consists in the fact that two gripper bars are provided, both of which are each guided in a guideway over the printing table, but that their movements are opposite to each other and that the guideways are designed such that one of the gripper bars in the area of the center of the printing table runs over the other.
- This configuration has the advantage that, during the transport of a sheet to be printed onto the printing table, the second gripper bar already returns to its starting position, so that a new sheet can be placed again immediately during the removal of the printed sheet.
- each gripper bar is connected to a drive means on at least one longitudinal side of the printing table, which is actuated in opposite directions together with the drive means of the other gripper bar and if the drive means are part of a common endless conveyor on which the gripper bars are located in one of the half the length of the endless conveyor appropriate distance are attached.
- the endless conveyor is expediently a revolving chain which runs in the region of the guideways of the gripper bars and the gripper bars are expediently provided at both ends with guide parts with rollers which run on guide rails serving as guideways. This ensures exact guidance and smooth running of the gripper bars.
- the opposite drive and the control of the lifting movement of one gripper bar over the other can be carried out in various ways.
- the drive and guide wheels of the chain have horizontally extending axes and that the guide rails run one above the other in a vertically extending plane.
- This version is characterized by a slim design.
- the guide rails can advantageously be the inner edges of a slot running laterally in an elongated chain case receiving the chain, which is symmetrical to the center of the longitudinal edges of the printing table and is open towards the printing table. This combines the cover and protection of the chain with the arrangement of the guideways for the gripper bars.

- the carriages 11, 12 run approximately tracks on F üh- which a slot 16 are formed respectively by the lower inner edge 14 and the upper inner edge 15, which at both ends has a height slightly greater than the diameter of the rollers 13 is, however, in the middle, in the area marked 16 ', has a width which is more than twice the roll diameter.
- the gripper bar 7 is in its right end position in front of the feed table 6 in order to use a gripper 17 to clamp a sheet (not shown) which is to be printed on the feed table 6 and is to be printed on its edge.
- the second gripper bar is at this time at the left end of the slot 16 in a position in which it has deposited a sheet to be printed on the printing table, which is being printed at this time and is held in a known manner by vacuum on the printing table 1, but additionally also through the terminal block 17 of the gripper bar 8 can be held.
- the gripper bar 8 is in this left end position so that it does not hinder the doctor blade moved over the printing table 1.
- the gripper bar 7 is moved after the printing process to the position which the gripper bar 8 still occupies in FIG. 1.
- the gripper bar 8, on the other hand, is moved in the opposite sense, as can be seen from FIG. 2, into the position which the gripper bar 7 occupies in FIG. 1.
- the guide carriages 11 and 12 'of the gripper bars 7 and 8 are each connected to a chain 18 which is connected via a drive wheel 19 and deflection and guide rollers 20 and 21 with horizontal axes in a box-shaped carrier 22 is housed, which also serves to support the sprockets 19 to 21 and is provided towards the printing table with the open slot 16.
- the guide carriage 11 is thereby pulled towards the upper run of the chain 18 via the pivot levers 23 and 24 and the force of the spring 31 in the extended position shown in FIG. 4. Its guide wheels 13 therefore rest on the upper inner edge 15 of the slot 16.
- the pivot levers 23 and 24 are moved into an extended position when the chain 18 moves in the direction of the arrow 33 and when the chain 18 is deflected on the deflection wheel 20 (see FIG. 1) moves because its pivot axis 25 the deflection of the Chain 18 with power.
- the pivot levers then move with further movement of the chain into the position 23 ', .24' indicated by dash-dotted lines, in which their common pivot axis 25 'on the lower run of the chain 18 is moved to the left. From this point in time, the pivot levers 23 ', 24' exert a pulling action on the guide carriage 11 downward via the force of the spring 31, so that from the deflection - position of the gripper bar 7 in FIG. 1 - the guide wheels 13 of the guide carriage 11 are guided on the lower inner edge 14 of the slot.
- This configuration makes it possible to guide the guide carriage 11 during the movement of the gripper bar 7 in the direction of arrow 34 on the lower inner edge 14 of the slot 16, while the guide carriage 12 of the other gripper bar 8, which is analogously connected to the chain 18, is guided on the upper inner edge 15 of the slot 16. Since the slot 16 has a greater width in the region 16 ', the two guide carriages 11 and 12 (see FIG. 2) can be guided past one another. In this way, the gripper bar 7 runs under the gripper bar 8, as is also shown in FIG. 3. In order to reliably rule out contact between the two guide carriages 11 and 12, in the exemplary embodiment in the area 16 ′ of the slot 16 there is also a deflecting rail 35 between the upper and lower guide tracks.
- the guide carriages 11 and 12 must each be fastened to the chain 18 in such a way that chain sections of equal length lie between them. Only the carriages are both at the same strength in the F. 1 shown end position and intersect in the area 16 ′ in the middle of the slot 16, which in the exemplary embodiment also corresponds approximately to the center of the printing table 1.
- This configuration means that there are no dead times for the return of the gripper bar to the feed table 6.
- the printed sheet is removed from the printing table 1 by a trigger device (not shown) deducted in the direction of arrow 34, while - in the representation of FIG. 2 - the gripper bar 7 is already pulling a new sheet for the subsequent printing process onto the printing table 1.
- FIGS. 6 to 8 show an embodiment with which the same sequence of movements of the gripper bars 37 and 38 provided there is effected, but with a different design solution.
- the chain 18 used for driving rotates in a vertical plane because the deflection and drive rollers 19, 20 have a horizontal axis
- a double chain 39 is provided, which revolves around two deflection or drive wheels 40 with a vertical axis.
- This double chain 39 is guided within a protective box 41, the top and bottom of which, in a manner to be explained in more detail below, with guide edges 42 for bushes 43, which in a manner similar to the common pivot axes 25 in the embodiment of FIGS Double chain 39 are connected, so that in each case between them, seen in both directions of the chain, chain sections of equal length.
- This arrangement leads, as in the first embodiment, to the fact that the gripper bars 37 and 38, which are connected to the guide bushes 43, as will be explained later, during their forced movement in the direction of rotation of the chain 39, each in the middle between the Crossing and driving wheels 40, cross.
- the gripper bars 37 and 38 are each again connected with their mounting brackets 9 and 10 to a driver device, which here, however, consists of a swivel lever 44 which is rotatably attached to the brackets 9 and 10 and which is' fixed in each case two vertically extending support rods 45 are connected, which are guided in longitudinally displaceable fashion in bores 46 of the bushes 43 and are provided at their lower end with fixed sleeves 47, each of which carries a guide wheel 48.
- a driver device which here, however, consists of a swivel lever 44 which is rotatably attached to the brackets 9 and 10 and which is' fixed in each case two vertically extending support rods 45 are connected, which are guided in longitudinally displaceable fashion in bores 46 of the bushes 43 and are provided at their lower end with fixed sleeves 47, each of which carries a guide wheel 48.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a screen printing machine with a fixed printing table and with at least two gripper bars, which are moved together in cycles and one of which is guided over the printing table in order to detect a new unprinted sheet on a system table during a printing process, after the printing Pull the printing table, position it there and then return it to the system table.
Screen printing machines of this type are known. They have a series of gripper bars on a common conveyor, the upper run of which runs in a plane above the printing table and the lower run of which runs in a plane below the printing table, so that the gripper bars lying across the printing table with the respectively recorded printing sheet initially pass over the printing table are guided into their starting position for grasping a new sheet but only after deflection and return transport below the printing table. Screen printing machines of this type generally also provide that these gripper bars also convey the printed sheet further to a delivery station, so that the deflection and return only then begins. A disadvantage of these machines is that, because of the return through the entire machine base, many gripper bars are required for a machine and that the construction and space requirements for such machines is relatively large.
Other screen printing machines are also known in which a carriage is moved back and forth to the side of the printing table, the length of which corresponds approximately to the printing table and which has a gripper bar at both ends, which can act on the same side. With this sled you can therefore a bar to be inserted printed sheets are detected and transported over the printing table, while the gripper bar located on the other side of the carriage can grasp the already printed sheet and transport it to the delivery point. A disadvantage of this type of screen printing machine, however, is that the carriage must run back empty in order to detect a new sheet. Machines of this type therefore have relatively long dead times.
The invention has for its object to design a screen printing machine of the type mentioned so that as few gripper bars are necessary for the transport of printed matter on the printing table, but without the disadvantage of excessive dead times.
The invention consists in the fact that two gripper bars are provided, both of which are each guided in a guideway over the printing table, but that their movements are opposite to each other and that the guideways are designed such that one of the gripper bars in the area of the center of the printing table runs over the other. This configuration has the advantage that, during the transport of a sheet to be printed onto the printing table, the second gripper bar already returns to its starting position, so that a new sheet can be placed again immediately during the removal of the printed sheet.
It is advantageous if each gripper bar is connected to a drive means on at least one longitudinal side of the printing table, which is actuated in opposite directions together with the drive means of the other gripper bar and if the drive means are part of a common endless conveyor on which the gripper bars are located in one of the half the length of the endless conveyor appropriate distance are attached.
This configuration ensures that the movements move in opposite directions, but without the need for separate drives for the two gripper bars. The endless conveyor is expediently a revolving chain which runs in the region of the guideways of the gripper bars and the gripper bars are expediently provided at both ends with guide parts with rollers which run on guide rails serving as guideways. This ensures exact guidance and smooth running of the gripper bars.
The opposite drive and the control of the lifting movement of one gripper bar over the other can be carried out in various ways. In a first embodiment it is advantageously provided that the drive and guide wheels of the chain have horizontally extending axes and that the guide rails run one above the other in a vertically extending plane. This version is characterized by a slim design. The guide rails can advantageously be the inner edges of a slot running laterally in an elongated chain case receiving the chain, which is symmetrical to the center of the longitudinal edges of the printing table and is open towards the printing table. This combines the cover and protection of the chain with the arrangement of the guideways for the gripper bars. The slot must be wider in the area of its center than in its end areas, which is sufficient to allow the guide parts of the gripper bars to run one above the other. Furthermore, in this embodiment, pressing devices are to be provided in order to press the guide parts against the lower inner edge during the movement in one direction and against the upper inner edge of the slot during the movement in the other direction, so that the desired passage of the guide parts of the gripper bars and thus also the gripper bars is guaranteed in their trajectory. As such pressing devices, of course, again guideways can be provided, on which the rollers of the guide parts run and in one case are raised while they are when returning, pass below this guideway. It is easier and less prone to malfunctions or misdirection, however, if a pair of swivel levers is provided as the pressing devices, which is articulated to the chain at the common swivel point, the free ends of the swivel levers each being displaceable parallel to the direction of movement of the gripper bars in the guide part of the gripper bar and above a compression spring or the like are acted upon in the sense of an extension of the pivot levers in an aligned position. This configuration brings with it the advantage that the pair of swiveling levers necessarily guided at the associated chain center at the common pivot point always exerts a tensile force on the guide part, which always tries to pull the guide part towards the assigned chain center, so that the guide part always abuts or its wheels on the outer contour of the slot is guaranteed. This configuration also has the advantage that at the two deflection points of the chain, the pivot levers inevitably come into their extended position, relieving the pressure spring, in order then, due to the rotational movement of the chain, to pivot out the opposite position and in turn a tensile force on the guide part exercise. The guide part of each gripper bar arranged in this way on the chain is thus inevitably guided on the outer edge of the slot assigned to it. The guide parts therefore inevitably run past one another in the widened central region of the slot without touching one another. The guide parts run on both sides of this crossover point in such a way that the gripper bars are guided flat over the printing table in the desired sense. It is expedient to mount the free ends of the pivot levers on sliders which are guided in a longitudinal guide in a guide carriage which serves as a guide part and is guided in the desired manner at the slot. As a precaution, a separating web between the lower and upper inner edge of the slot can also be provided in the area of the center of the slot, in order to avoid mutual contact between the guide carriages of the two opposite gripper bars.
In a second embodiment it is provided that the drive and guide wheels of the chain have vertically extending axes and that the guide rails run parallel next to one another. This configuration has the advantage that it is possible to work without the aid of pretensioned pivot levers. Advantageously, one of the guide rails in the region of the center of the side edge of the printing table is placed higher than the adjacent guide rail, which corresponds at least approximately to the height of a gripper bar, so that when passing through the path of the guide rails, which are adapted to the chain profile, are laid in an oval is, the gripper bars run in the desired manner in the middle of their trajectories.
To achieve this, it can be provided in a practical embodiment that the rollers of the guide parts are connected via vertical support parts with support parts for the ends of the gripper bars, that the support parts are guided vertically displaceably in drivers which are firmly connected to the chain and that the supporting parts are connected to the supporting parts by means of displacement elements which permit horizontal movement of the supporting parts by the amount of the distance between the adjacent chain centers. In a simple manner, the support parts can be designed as articulation brackets and the displacement elements can be designed as swivel arms that can be rotated about a vertical axis with respect to them and are connected to the associated support part, the pivot point of the swivel arms on the articulation brackets then in one through the axes of the deflection and Drive wheels of the chain lies in the vertical plane. A simple implementation of this embodiment is achieved if the support parts are designed as cylindrical support rods which are rotatably and displaceably guided in bushings serving as drivers and if the swivel arms are firmly connected to the support rods. It can also be provided that in this embodiment a better guidance of the support rods via a longer bushing is achieved that the bushings are fastened to two jointly driven chains lying one below the other in horizontal planes and thus have a greater length.

Zur Steuerung der Bewegung dieser Greiferleisten 7 und 8 dient bei einer ersten Ausführungsform die Anordnung der Fig. 1 bis 5.1 and 2, the lateral guide arrangement for two gripper bars of a screen printing machine is shown, the basic structure of which corresponds to that of a conventional screen printing machine with a fixed printing table and is therefore not shown. From Fig. 3, however, it can be seen that the printing table 1 is mounted on a
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the
From the position shown in FIG. 1, the
This configuration makes it possible to guide the
As is also clear from the above description, the
This configuration means that there are no dead times for the return of the gripper bar to the feed table 6. The printed sheet is removed from the printing table 1 by a trigger device (not shown) deducted in the direction of
1 to 5, the
In order to achieve this crossing, the gripper bars 37 and 38 are each again connected with their mounting
Die übrige Wirkungsweise entspricht der der Ausführung der Fig. 1 bis 5.From Fig. 8 it is clear that the
