Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a windsurfing sail, which has cloth webs attached to one another at its edges, of which at least a part is arranged radially starting from a point such that fabric threads of each web extend essentially in the beam direction.
Sails with fabric sheets arranged in a jet are known. This arrangement of the fabric sheets has the purpose that fabric threads, for example weft threads or warp threads, of the cloth webs mainly extend in the direction of the tensile stresses that occur in the sail due to the wind attack. This results in a good distortion-free state of the sail when sailing, so that the formation of tension folds or folds formed by warping the cloth is completely or largely avoided.
The invention has for its object to design a windsurfing sail of the type mentioned in an optimal manner so that when windsurfing due to the forces and tensions occurring in the sail due to wind pressure in all areas of the sail a smooth, wrinkle-free and undulating stand is ensured. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the sail has two areas with radially arranged tracks (stranlen areas), one of which emanates from the horn of the sail and the other from the sail head, which areas meet on a line extending from the leech to the luff.
The radial paths of the radiation area emanating from the sail head and the radial paths of the radiation area emanating from the sailing horn can meet in alignment on the target line. Since particularly strong tensile stresses occur in the windsurfing sail on the imaginary connection line between the sail head and the sail neck, it is expedient that a path of the stranlen region emanating from the sailing sail and a spell of the jet region emanating from the sail head essentially extend in this imaginary straight connection line, in such a way that a not inconsiderable part of the fabric threads of these two webs is essentially aligned in this connecting line. But it is also possible that the edge of two adjacent radial paths of the two radiation areas in the direction of these ge thought connecting lines between the sailing horn and sail head and that a non-inactive part of the fabric threads of these two tracks is aligned essentially parallel to this connecting line.
The line of intersection of the paths of the two beam regions is preferably straight or essentially straight, whereby it can extend perpendicular to the luff of the sail up to a point on the luff or the mast pocket forming this luff, which is located above the center of the luff.
In the following a particularly advantageous embodiment of the windsurf sail according to the invention is described in more detail with reference to the drawing.
The sail has in the usual way on its luff a tubular pocket 1, which is open at its lower end and is designed to push the sail onto the mast of the windsurfing device, not shown. In the area where the boom is attached to the mast, this mast pocket is provided with a
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the sail is equipped with a number of
The
The radially arranged
The sail corners on the head 8,
Das gleiche gilt für die Eckverstärkungsstreifen 14.As already mentioned, the cloth webs can be connected to one another at the
The innovation is also applicable to windsurfing sails, which have a second layer made of a plastic film in addition to a cloth scarf. However, it can also be used on surf sails which are formed from or exclusively from plastic films with oriented fiber reinforcement.
