Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Konditionierung von im Stapel angeordneten Papierpro­ dukten, vornehmlich vor und/oder nach Verwendung als Druckträger, ggf. in Form von Büchern oder Buchblocks, wobei dem Stapel Luft entzogen wird, bis sich ein Vakuum, vorzugsweise zwischen 1 bis 30 Torr, bei Umgebungs- und Stapeltemperaturen von vorzugsweise von 10 bis 40°C, einstellt, anschließend der Stapel von der äußeren Randzone beginnend erwärmt und in den Stapel Wasserdampf bis zur Sättigung des Papiers eingebracht wird und danach der Stapel zur Abkühlung auf die Temperatur der Normalatmos­ phäre mit Normalatmosphäre mit vorzugsweise 10 bis 40°C und 50 bis 60% relative Luftfeuchtigkeit beaufschlagt wird.
