Abstract

The ridge 6 of each building member slopes northwardly at an angle of inclination which corresponds approximately to the lowest angle of insolation 7 of the winter midday sun and thus permits exposure of the northerly building member to the full effect of the sun. By glazing the northerly roof part 8, a patio 9 lying underneath is lit up. By means of a V-shaped platform 10 lying between the building members 2, 3, space is provided for winter gardens 13, solar collectors 12, terraces 14 and superstructures for visual and acoustic improvements in the region of the upper floor. By arranging the warm rooms 16 in the northerly building member 2 and the cold rooms in the southerly building member 3, a thermal and acoustic buffer zone is formed between the dwellings.
