Description

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Gatter gemäss Oberbegriff des Patentanspruches 1.The present invention relates to a gate according to the preamble of claim 1.

Gates of the type mentioned are known and consist of two fabric shafts receiving the ends of a strip-shaped embroidery base, which are provided with ratchet couplings which prevent the shafts from turning back when the embroidery base is stretched. (For example, US-A-3 183 866). In these devices, the area of the embroidery base to be embroidered is guided in front of the embroidery needles and the two fabric shafts are then rotated until the embroidery base has the desired tension. When tensioning, however, the area to be embroidered cannot be prevented from shifting. A great deal of skill is therefore required from the operating personnel in this work, which is repeated after each stitch pass.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a device with which the embroidery base can be stretched uniformly, regardless of the pitch of the ratchet wheel on the fabric shaft.

This object is achieved according to the invention according to the characterizing features of patent claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments are described in the dependent claims.

By using a traction device that acts on both material shafts at the same time and has a drive that is mounted independently of the creel, the embroidery base can also be moved in a tensioned state, i.e. either from the top to the bottom or from the bottom to the top fabric shaft. When the needles are inserted into the embroidery base before tensioning or when tensioning, the freely displaceable drive enables an absolutely even distribution of the tension forces on both sides of the needles.

The separation of the material shafts from the drive pulleys by means of a ratchet coupling has a very advantageous effect because the material shafts can be freely rotated while the embroidery is relaxed.

When shortening the traction means, i.e. When the same is tensioned, the pawls on the disks wrapped in the traction means snap into place on the toothing on the material shafts, regardless of their current position.

The invention is described in more detail using an illustrated embodiment. Show it:
  • FIG. 1 shows a view of a gate for a shuttle embroidery machine,
  • FIG. 2 shows a section along line 11-11 in FIG. 1 with the embroidery base unstressed,
  • 3 shows a section along line II-II in FIG. 1 with the embroidery base stretched.

On a conventional gate frame 3 consisting of two columns 1 and a cross strut 2, a fabric shaft 5 is rotatably supported at the top and bottom. The embroidery base or fabric 6 is placed around the two fabric shafts 5, the embroidered fabric 6 being wound onto the lower fabric shaft 5 and the fabric 6 to be embroidered being unwound from the upper fabric shaft 5. The dash-dotted line A denotes the plane in which the needles of an embroidery machine (not shown) come to rest. On the right-hand end of the fabric shafts 5, a drive pulley 8 for receiving a wire rope or a steel band 9 wound around it is placed coaxially. The two ropes or straps 9 are by a tensioning unit, for. B. connected to a spindle 11 drive motor 12 and a spindle nut 14 placed on the spindle 11.

In front of this, the disks 8 with the wire ropes 9 which surround them peripherally and the material 6 lie on the material waves 5.

The material shafts 5 have a toothing 13 in the form of a toothed ring in the end, into which a pawl 15 pivotably attached to the disk 8 can engage. In Figure 2, the rear end 19 of the pawl 15 is out of contact with a plate 21 attached to the wire rope 9 when the latter and thus the fabric 6 are tensioned.

With untensioned ropes 9, i.e. extended spindle 11 and thus loose material 6, the rear end 19 of the pawl 15 comes into contact with the plate 21, whereby the pawl 15 disengages from the toothing 13 and the material shafts 5 are freely rotatable (FIG. 3). A spring 39 in the disk 8 rotates the latter when there is no tension on the ropes 9 in such a way that the ropes 9 are wound onto the disks 8. A rotation range of the disks 8 of approximately 90 to 100 ° is sufficient.

The motor 12 and the spindle nut 14, which are connected to the ropes 9, are in a guide 17 attached to the column 1, for. B. a groove, freely longitudinally displaceable, but secured against rotation. With a clamping device 20, for. B. a Jaccard lever on the motor 12, this can be locked at any point along the guide 17.

Between the cable 9 and the spindle nut 14, a tension measuring device 22 is preferably used, with which the drive motor 12 can be switched off when the set tension is reached. The tension measuring device 22 can consist, for example, of a plate spring assembly 23 which is inserted in a sleeve 27. The end of the sleeve 227 has an opening 29 through which the end of a pull rod 30 fastened to the spindle nut 14 is passed. With a disc 31 placed on the end of the pull rod 30, that between the disc 31 and the front end of the sleeve se 27 lying plate spring assembly 23 tensioned.

A threaded bolt 33 is provided projecting radially from the disk 31 and projecting through a longitudinal slot 35 in the sleeve 27. An adjusting nut 37 with a conical lateral surface and scale sits on the threaded bolt 33. A limit switch 25 is attached to the sleeve 27 below the adjusting nut 37. If the adjusting nut 37 is screwed in close to the sleeve 27, the spring travel that must be covered until the limit switch 25 is touched is greater than if the adjusting nut 37 is screwed in only a little. The tension in the wire cables 9 or the fabric 6 can be adjusted according to the position of the adjusting nut 37.

The operation of the device is described below:
  • The upper or lower fabric shaft 5 is rotated by hand or with a drive (not shown in the figures) until the area of the fabric 6 to be embroidered lies approximately in front of the needles in plane A.

Now the motor 12 can be started and the spindle nut 14 can be brought closer to the motor 12 with the spindle 11. This shortens the rope length between the two disks 8. In this process, the two plates 21 move away from the ends 19 of the pawls 15. The pawls 15 pivot under the influence of the spring force acting on them and come into engagement with the toothing 13 of the material shafts 5 and rotate them. The lower fabric shaft 5 moves clockwise, the upper one counterclockwise: the fabric 6 is stretched. When the plate spring assembly 23 is compressed so far that the adjusting nut 37 comes into contact with the limit switch 25, the motor 12 is switched off.

Because the motor 12 is freely displaceable longitudinally and can perform a relative movement d to the gate 3 with the wire cables 9, the fabric 6 is tensioned evenly on both fabric shafts 5 and - if the needles are already inserted into the fabric, the result is above and below the needles have exactly the same tension in the fabric 6.

If the needles are not inserted, the fabric 6 can be brought absolutely exactly in the correct position in front of the needles in the tensioned state. Depending on the free rope length above the tension measuring device 22 or below the motor 12, the material 6 can be adjusted in height without being relaxed.

During the embroidery, the motor 12 is locked with the clamping device 20 and thus the fabric 6 is held immovably.

If it turns out during embroidery that the tension in the fabric 6 is too low, a higher tension can be set on the tension measuring device 22 and the motor 12 can be switched on.

To relax, or for the further transport of the embroidered areas of the fabric 6, the ropes 9 are relieved by turning the spindle 11 backwards. As a result of the tension in the fabric 6 and because of the restoring force of the spring 39 in the disks 8, the ropes 9 are wound up. At the same time, the pawls 15 return to the starting point and are pivoted and disengaged there by the plates 21 which approach the disks 8. The fabric rollers 5 are then freely rotatable in both directions.
