Definitions
- valve closing member a valve plate which has a valve seat on the end face of an annular web which comes to rest on a plate-shaped valve body.
- this valve closing member separates the pump side from the injection valve side of the delivery line.
- the valve closing member moves against the force of the return spring a distance that multiplied by the area of the valve closing member gives the injection volume minus the volume that flows through the circumference of the valve body.
- the valve closing member gradually returns to its seat on the valve body under the action of the return spring, the fuel volume displaced thereby flowing back in part through the throttle cross-section which the valve body forms with the wall guiding it.
- the pressure valve according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that the check valve provided here both avoids the post-injection of fuel by effectively reducing the pressure waves and also reliably maintains a static pressure which prevents combustion gases from entering the delivery line or the fuel system the injection pump.
- the figure shows a longitudinal section through a pressure valve 1, which is screwed into the housing 2 of a fuel injection pump, not shown, and sits in a delivery line 4 between the pump work chamber, not shown, of the fuel injection pump and an injection valve 3 of the internal combustion engine, not shown, to be supplied.
- the pressure valve has a connection piece 6 which is screwed into a threaded bore of the housing.
- the connecting piece has an axial recess 8 which is open towards the screw-in side and essentially has the shape of a blind hole. Coaxial to the axial recess there is a connection bore 10 which opens into a connection nipple 11 of the connecting piece and thus connects the axial recess to the delivery line 4.
- the pump-side end face 12 of the connecting piece is pressed in the screwed-in state onto a disk-shaped valve body 15 which bears against a shoulder 16 at the bottom of the threaded blind bore 7.
- the valve body has an axial opening 17 which connects the axial recess 8 to the delivery line part 4b which leads from the threaded bore 7 and which leads to the pump work chamber (not shown).
- the outside diameter of the valve body 15 is the same size as the outside diameter of the connecting piece in the region of its end face 12, the valve body and connecting piece advantageously being held together with the aid of an annular clamp 18, especially for transport purposes.
- a valve closing member 20 is slidably arranged, which is essentially cylindrical and has on its outer surface guide surfaces 21 in at least two different radial planes which guide the valve closing member exactly within the axial recess 8 and at the same time have a throttle cross section 22 together with form the wall of the recess 8.
- the part of the axial recess 8 on the connection bore side can be connected to the part of the recess 8 on the valve body side via the throttle cross section.
- the valve closing member also has a bottom 23 toward the axial recess 8, on which a return spring 24 comes to the system, which on the other hand is supported on the connection bore-side end 25 of the recess 8 and endeavors to contact the valve closing member with its pump-side end 26 Bring valve body 15.
- This end face of the valve closing member is ground flat as a sealing surface and the adjacent end face of the valve body is ground flat as a valve seat.
- a throttle bore 28 is provided in the center of the bottom 23 and can be closed from an injection pump side by a disk-shaped or spherical valve member 29 of a check valve 30.
- This has a return spring 31 which is supported on a spring plate 32 which bears against a locking ring 33 inserted into the inner wall of the valve closing member 20.
- the spring plate has an axial opening 34, so that a continuous connection of the delivery line 4 is made when the valve member 29 is lifted off.
- valve closing member 20 If fuel is conveyed to the internal combustion engine during operation of a fuel injection pump, in which the pressure valve according to the invention is installed, the valve closing member 20 is moved from its seat on the valve body 15 under the pressure of the fuel supplied via the delivery line 4 lifted.
- the check valve 30, which is acted upon by the return spring 31 and the fuel delivery pressure in the closing direction, is of course closed at this time.
- fuel can pass through the throttle cross sections 22 into the part of the axial recess 8 on the connection bore side and the valve closing member is further moved in the conveying direction under the action of the delivery pressure against the force of the return spring 24.
- the throttle cross-section When dimensioning, it must be taken into account that the throttle cross-section must be at least large enough so that while the valve closing element has lifted from its seat, the injection quantity and an additional quantity, which is intended to ensure a static pressure in the fuel delivery line between the pressure valve and the injection valve, can flow through.
- the valve closing member constitutes a separating piston, ie the essential fuel that is injected is conveyed by moving the valve closing member.
- the throttle losses of the fuel flowing through the throttle cross section are kept very low, so that the highest injection pressures can be achieved.
- the valve closing element is moved back into its starting position under the action of the return spring 24, the fuel displaced in the process being able to flow over the throttle cross sections 22.
- the throttle cross section determine the return speed of the valve closing member 20. Now meet after the injection valve has closed after delivery reflected pressure waves on the valve closing member, these are quickly reduced by the backward movement of the valve closing member. Furthermore, the check valve 30 is also opened so that fuel can flow back through the throttle bore 28 and the pressure peak of the reflection pressure wave is further reduced. This fuel, which overflows during the return movement of the valve closing element, also returns in the bypass via the throttle cross section 22.
- the check valve 30 is also effective even after the valve closure member has been replaced on the valve body 15 and guarantees an exact standing pressure in the delivery line 4 between the pressure valve 1 and the injection valve 3.
- the play between the guide surfaces 21 and the wall of the axial recess is kept very low. This prevents the valve closing member from sloping onto the valve body, which could lead to the destruction of the sealing seat.
- the throttle cross section 22, which can be produced per se by an undersize of the valve body outer diameter compared to the diameter of the axial recess, can also be realized by throttle grooves, as also shown in the figure. This has the advantage that, in particular, very precise, tight guidance is ensured with the aforementioned purpose.
- the check valve is provided with a disk-shaped valve member 29.
- This can advantageously also be a spherical valve closing member which is acted upon by the return spring 31 with the interposition of a guided spring plate.
- These in the example shown, are located on a valve supports closing member 20 connected seat, can in an alternative embodiment also be supported on the valve body 15 in a stationary manner, which is advantageous for setting the opening pressure of the check valve 30.
Abstract
