Vapour exhaust device for kitchens, with an upper shaft element (1) mountable on a wall or ceiling, and with a shaft skirt (2) vertically guided on the shaft element in telescope fashion, a stationary exhaust duct (12) being provided in the region of the shaft element (1) and coacting with an exhaust means, characterized in that at the lower end interiorly of the skirt (2) there is provided an exhaust hood (11), and between the exhaust duct (12) and the exhaust hood (11), there is provided a telescope-like connecting line (10) or a bellows ; longitudinal guide elements (3) are provided interiorly of the shaft element (1) and cooperate with corresponding longitudinal guide elements (3) provided interiorly of the shaft skirt (2) ; the shaft skirt (2) is suspended from flexible pulling organs (6), which can be wound on reels (5) mounted inside the shaft element (1), the reels (5) being driven by a reversable electromotor (4), and the pulling organs (6), the reels (5) and the electromotor (4) being provided in the space enclosed by the shaft element (1) and the shaft skirt (2).

Außerdem ist der gesamte von dem Schachtelement und der Schachtschürze umschlossene Raum - also gegebenenfalls auch Nebenaggregate - den Kochdünsten ausgesetzt. Zugleich ergibt die Kombination aus Absaughaube und (engerer) Luftleitung eine bessere Luftführung und damit einen besseren Wirkungsgrad der Absaugung. Im übrigen vom Schachtelement und der Schachtschürze umschlossenen Raum lassen sich sowohl die Längsführungselemente als auch die anderen für den Betrieb der Vorrichtung erforderlichen oder zweckmäßigen Elemente - nach außen hin unsichtbar - anordnen. Schließlich läßt sich die 'Teieskop'-Kombination aus Schachtelement und Schachtschürze unschwer so ausbilden, daß sie sich ohne ästhetischen Nachteil in eine moderne Einbauküche - beispielsweise eine Oberschrankzeile - einfügt.This object is achieved with the characterizing features of claim 1.
