Claims (6)

1. An apparatus for the application of labels to round containers (10), with a conveyor belt (11) for supplying and removing the containers, a separating screw conveyor (12) for the containers on the conveyor belt, a drive belt (13) and a counter pressure surface (14), a label box (18), a gluing mechanism (19), a removal and transferal drum (20) for removing and transferring the labels (17) from the box, with the labels being applied to the containers rolling off between drive belt and counter pressure surface, characterized in that the removal and transferal drum (20) is provided on its periphery with at least one movable segment (21) each for gluing and carrying the beginning of an allround label (17) and at least one stationary segment (22) each for the gluing of the label end, wherein a cam-shaped control groove (30) for controlling the movement of the movable segment is provided with a cam roller (31).
2. An apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that two movable segments (21) and an equal number of stationary segments (22), offset against each other in each case by 180°, are provided on the periphery of the removal and transferal drum (20).
3. An apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that n movable segments (21) and n stationary segments (22), offset against each other in each case by 360° : n, are provided.
4. An apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the cam roller (31) is connected to the movable segment (21) by a lever mechanism (32, 33, 34).

An apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that an angle lever (33) is provided to control the individual phases of the segment (21), with the pivotal point (39) thereof and likewise the pivotal point (40) of a connection piece (32) being disposed on a graduated circle (38), or the graduated circle (38) for the connection piece (32), up to a maximum of twice the diameter of the cam roller (31), is no larger or smaller in diameter than the graduated circle for the angle lever (33).

An apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that under the influence of the cam roller, with the drum (20) constantly rotating, the movable segment (21), upon releasing the label (17) at a wiper 23', the movable segment (21) again receives glue at the gluing mechanism (19), stops opposite the front end of the label (17), moves toward the label box (18), pushes into the stack of labels and, picking up the beginning of the label, executes a brief backward and lifting motion and, picking up the label, advances forward and releases the lable at the wiper, while the segment (22) provided with glue applies glue to the rear end of the label on passing a counter pressure roller (29).
