Continuous exposure of a particular portion of an article 14 to the ultraviolet radiation may overheat that portion of the article 14 and damage it. To avoid such overheating while providing adequate time of exposure to the ultraviolet radiation, it may be desirable to rotate each article 14 through two or three complete revolutions as it passes the ultraviolet lamp 16. This enables every part of the article 14 to be exposed for two or three separate, relatively short time periods rather than one relatively long time period, enabling cooling to take place between exposures. Also, by providing two or three complete revolutions, a large margin of error is provided to insure that each article 14 actually rotates through at least 360° while it is being transport through a 60° sector of the turntable travel.

Claims (14)

1. Trockenapparat zum Trocknen von Tinte an der äußeren Oberfläche von Gegenständen durch . Bestrahlen der äußeren Oberfläche der Gegenstände (14), umfassend einen Rahmen (20), eine Bestrahlungseinrichtung (16) zum Bestrahlen der äußeren Oberfläche der Gegenstände (14), eine Drehscheibe (22), die durch den Rahmen (20) getragen wird und die zum Drehtransport für die Gegenstände (14) entlang eines kreisförmigen Weges vorbei an der Bestrahlungseinrichtung (16) angebracht ist, eine Antriebseinrichtung (28) zum Drehen der Drehscheibe (22), Trennmittel (26), die die Drehscheibe (22) in eine Vielzahl von Fächern zur Aufnahme der Gegenstände aufteilen, und eine Einrichtung zum Drehen (32, 34) der Gegenstände (14) in ihren jeweiligen Fächern während sie durch die Drehscheibe an der Bestrahlungseinrichtung (16) vorbei geführt werden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bestrahlungseinrichtung (16) durch eine ultraviolettes Licht austrahlende Quelle gebildet ist, wobei die Drehscheibe (22) zum Drehen in einem Gehäuse (18) angebracht ist, welches von dem Rahmen (20) getragen wird und wenigstens eine Öffnung (24) aufweist, um das Einsetzen der Gegenstände (14) in oder das Herausnehmen der Gegenstände (14) aus ihren jeweiligen Fächern zu ermöglichen, und wobei die Bestrahlungseinrichtung (16) in dem Gehäuse (18) in der Weise angeordnet ist, daß das ultraviolette Licht von dort nicht durch die Öffnung oder die Öffnungen (24) in dem Gehäuse (18) sichtbar ist.
2. Apparat nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Einrichtung eine Drehmomentbegrenzungseinrichtung aufweist, um zu verhindern, daß das Drehmoment an der Drehscheibe (22) ein vorbestimmtes Maximum überschreitet.
3. Apparat nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Antriebseinrichtung einen Elektromotor (108) und einen Antriebsriemen umfaßt, der den Motor (108) mit der Drehscheibe (22) verbindet, und daß die Drehmomentbegrenzungseinrichtung eine Rutschkupplung aufweist.
4. Apparat nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, gekennzeichnet durch eine Auswerfereinrichtung (35) an einer Abgabestation für die Gegenstände, die betätigbar ist, um einen getrocknete Tinte aufweisenden Gegenstand (14) automatisch von der Drehscheibe (22) auszuwerfen.

Apparat nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Drehantriebseinrichtung einen Motor (108), eine durch den Motor (108) angetriebene Drehantriebswelle, eine an der Antriebswelle angebrachte Riemenscheibe (104), eine drehbare Welle (82), die an der Drehscheibe (22) angebracht ist und die sich durch deren Drehzentrum erstreckt, eine an der drehbaren Welle (82) angebrachte Abtriebsriemenscheibe (102), einen um die jeweiligen Riemenscheiben geschlungenen Antriebsriemen (106) und eine Kontrolleinrichtung für die Riemenspannung umfaßt, die dazu dient, daß die Riemenspannung ein vorbestimmtes Maximum nicht überschreitet.

Apparat nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Kontrolleinrichtung für die Riemenspannung einen verschwenkbaren Arm (112), der eine Riemenein wirkungseinrichtung an seinem freien Ende aufweist, und eine Federeinrichtung zum Anlegen der Riemenein wirkungseinrichtung gegen den Riemen umfaßt, um den Schlupf des Antriebsriemen (106) aufzunehmen.

Apparat nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß eine Steuereinrichtung (158) vorgesehen ist, um zu ermöglichen, daß die Drehung der Drehscheibe (22) gestoppt wird und die Energie für das ultraviolette Licht auf einen vorbestimmten Wert reduziert wird, während die Drehung der Drehteller (32) aufrechterhalten wird.

Apparat nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Auswerfereinrichtung (35) einen Fluid betriebenen Zylinder (41) umfaßt, der eine Ausstoßerstange (43) aufweist, die von einer eingefahren Stellung, in welcher sie sich radial einwärts der drehbaren Fächer befindet, und einer ausgefahrenen Stellung bewegbar ist, in welcher sich die Ausstoßerstange (43) radial über das mit einer Abgabestation fluchtende Fach erstreckt.
9. Apparat nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß er eine Einrichtung zum Anbringen des Zylinders (41) an dem Gehäusedach (44) und eine untere Trägereinrichtung (55) zum Zusammenwirken mit der Dreh scheibe (22) umfaßt.

Apparat nach Anspruch 9, gekennzeichnet durch eine Stangenführungseinrichtung, die an dem Zylinder (41) und an der Ausstoßerstange (23) für parallele Bewegungen mit dieser angeschlossen ist, um eine Rotation der Ausstoßerstange während eines Auswurfes eines Gegenstandes (14) aus dem Fach zu verhindern.
11. Apparat nach Anspruch 8, 9 oder 10, gekennzeichnet durch eine Schalterbetätigungseinrichtung, die mit der Ausstoßerstange bewegbar ist, um die Drehantriebseinrichtung (28) während eines Auswurfvorganges ein- und auszuschalten.
12. Trockenapparat zum Trocknen von Tinte auf der Außenseite von Gegenständen durch deren Bestrahlung in einer Trocknungsstation (19) und zum automatischen Auswerfen der getrockneten Gegenstände an einer Abgabestation (15), umfassend eine um eine vertikale Achse drehbar angeordnete Drehscheibe (22), die eine Vielzahl von Fächern aufweist, wobei jedes der Fächer einen an der Trocknungsstation zu trocknenden und dann zu der Abgabestation zu fördernden Gegenstand (14) aufnimmt und trägt, gekennzeichnet durch ein Gehäuse (18), das eine Beladestation und eine Abgabestation aufweist, wobei das Gehäuse (18) die Drehscheibe (22) teilweise umgibt und die Trocknungsstation (19) einfaßt, einer radial einwärts der Drehscheibe (22) angebrachte Auswerfereinrichtung (35), die eine Ausstoßerstange (43) aufweist, die ausgerichtet zum Durchgang durch jedes Fach ist, wenn dieses zu der Abgabestation zum Ausstoßen eines Gegenstandes (14) von der Drehscheibe (22) gebracht wird, und einer Fördereinrichtung zum automatischen Fördern eines durch die Auswerfereinrichtung (35) aus dem Trockenapparat ausgeworfenen Gegenstandes (14).

Apparat nach Anspruch 12, gekennzeichnet durch eine Schrittschaltantriebseinrichtung (91), um die Drehscheibe (22) in diskontinuierlichen Schritten weiterzuschalten, und eine Schaltereinrichtung, die durch die Ausstoßerstange (43) betätigt wird, um die Schrittschaltantriebseinrichtung (91) außer Drehfunktion für die Drehscheibe (22) zu setzen, wenn die Auswerfereinrichtung (35) ausgefahren wird.

Apparat nach Anspruch 12 oder 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Fach durch radial sich ersteckende Seitenwände (96), die sich nach oben von der Drehscheibe (22) aus erstecken, und einer inneren Nabenwand (94) gebildet ist, die eine Öffnung (63) darin aufweist, durch welche die Ausstoßerstange (43) in das Fach herausbewegt und durch diese hindurchbewegt werden kann zum Auswurf eines Gegenstandes (14) aus dem Fach an der Abgabestation (15).
