Description

The invention relates to a large-capacity transport bag for bulk goods, in which the bag wall consists of a cut of a fiber fabric, which is provided along two cutting edges running in the warp or weft direction with a connecting seam extending over the full bag height.

In a transport bag of this type known from DE-U-78 30 440, the connecting seam is designed as a double stitch seam carried out on a warping machine with a sewing passage. In order for this connecting seam to have a safety factor that is sufficiently large with regard to the bursting pressure with a payload of at least one ton, the bag wall is provided with four further corner seams running parallel to the connecting seam, which are also designed as double stitch seams. The corner seams divide the bag wall into four pairs of parallel side walls of the bag. The connecting seam is formed in the middle of one of these side walls. For a further increase in the safety factor, an alignment of all seams in the warp thread is provided for the fiber fabric and an overstitching of at least the corner seams using the same thread is provided. The known transport bag also has a separately sewn-on bottom with an emptying tube sewn on at a central point, a lid also sewn on separately with a filling pipe sewn on at a corresponding central point, and four U-shaped carrying loops sewn together with the corner seams. The production of this known large-capacity transport bag is therefore relatively complex and inexpensive.

In a generic transport bag according to DE-C-24 16 169, the wall of the bag consists of a round fabric to which a bottom and a lid with a filling opening that can be closed by a cord are sewn separately. The two loop ends of the carrying loops are sewn into an approximately S- or Z-shaped pleating of the bag wall. In order to obtain a strength compared to the bursting pressure with a matching safety factor with a transport bag of this design comparable to the transport bags of the same type, the round woven fabric would have to be woven with the same bag size from much stronger and at the same time denser threads than usual in practice, but this would lead to difficulties leads in the manufacture of the round fabric with existing weaving machines. Weaving a round fabric is also considerably more expensive than weaving the flat fabric used in the transport bags of the same type. Such generic transport bags are therefore ruled out, taking into account in particular the safety factor for the transport of bulk goods, if a filling volume of approximately 1 m 3 and a payload of up to approximately 1 250 kg is required and their permissible use is a drop test from a free fall height of 120 cm must endure undamaged.

The invention characterized by the claims solves the problem of providing a large-capacity transport bag for bulk goods of the type specified, which can be produced more cost-effectively under consideration of the above-mentioned conditions for a drop test and thereby has a strength with respect to the bursting pressure which is comparable with the known transport bags.

The design of the connecting seam as a zigzag seam, which can be carried out with a normal single-needle sewing machine, according to the invention, eliminates the need to provide special corner seams. The bag wall is thus provided with only a single seam, the seam pattern of which, oriented in the direction of the seam, has a length of approximately 10 cm with an overlap of the fabric blank of approximately 10 to 20 cm. This single seam develops a strength comparable to that of a round fabric which is seamlessly formed from correspondingly strong and at the same time densely set threads if the conditions of the drop test are used as a basis for comparison purposes. Because of the elimination of special corner seams, such a large-capacity transport bag can now be produced much more cost-effectively. At the same time, this also gives a greater degree of freedom for an intended attachment of carrying loops to the filling opening of the bag, with the possibility of a separate sewing on of a bottom and a lid, with or without a special emptying or filling tube, unchanged. The sewing of such carrying straps together with a single or double existing fabric strip also with a zigzag seam then results in a further material strength of the bag wall and an increased holding force of the carrying straps in the areas that, for example, when filling the hook of a load crane or bag which is attached to the prongs of the fork of a forklift truck as well as during its transportation are most stressed in terms of material.

A preferred embodiment of the large-capacity transport bag according to the invention is shown schematically in a perspective view in the drawing and is described in more detail below.

The transport bag provided for filling with a bulk material of generally at least one ton of payload has a bag wall 1 which consists of a cut of a synthetic fiber fabric with a tensile strength of at least about 197 N / cm 2 . The blank is rectangular with a finished length of at for example 380 cm and a width according to the desired bag height. The vertical edges of this blank are provided for the formation of a connecting seam 2. They can run either in the warp or in the weft direction of the fabric and are appropriately hemmed over a width of about 2 cm. To form the connecting seam 2, which is formed as a zigzag seam with a length of the seam pattern oriented in the seam direction of approximately 10 cm, the hemmed cut edges of the blank undergo an overlap 3 of, for example, 20 cm before the zigzag seam is sewn using a normal single-needle sewing machine.

Four approximately U-shaped carrying loops 4 are sewn onto the bag wall 1 together with a fabric strip 5 covering their two loop ends. The sewing on of the loops 4 and the fabric strips 5 is also realized with a zigzag seam. The fabric strips 5 can consist of the same fiber fabric as the bag wall 1 or of a different material. It is expedient to sew them onto the bag wall only after the connection seam 2 has been sewn in such a mutual arrangement that the four carrying loops 4 cross the four upper corners of the bag.

The bag also has a bottom 7 sewn separately by means of an overcast or safety seam 6 and a cover 8 also sewn separately. At a central location on the bottom 7, an emptying tube 9 is sewn on separately, while at a corresponding central location on the cover 8 a filling tube 10 is also sewn on separately. For other embodiments of the bag, the tube 9 can be dispensed with on the base 7. Instead of a cover 8 provided with the tube 10, a cover can also be used which, for example, has a filling opening which can be closed by a cord. The four carrying straps can finally be replaced by a single-point lifting element of the embodiment according to DE-U-79 36 129.
