Description

The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of claim 1.

In a known vacuum cleaner of this type, the outer and inner cover are attached to the housing via separate locks and each have a handle for opening. It can easily happen that the operator accidentally actuates the wrong lock or takes the wrong handle, so that the inner cover is opened instead of the outer cover or vice versa. Then this lid has to be closed again and the lock for the other lid has to be released. If the locking mechanism for the inner cover is accidentally actuated while the motor fan unit is running, it cannot be opened at all due to the negative pressure in the dust chamber, which also leads to unnecessary, annoying incorrect operation. The handling parts and handles assigned to each lid make handling particularly difficult.

The invention has for its object to design a vacuum cleaner of this type so that incorrect operation when opening the inner and outer cover are avoided. This object is achieved according to the invention in a vacuum cleaner of the generic type with the characterizing features of claim 1.

As a result of the design according to the invention, one handle of the outer cover is sufficient to open both covers and only one lock for the outer cover with respect to the housing is required. If, for example, the storage tray or the inner lid is to be accessible for removing one of the cleaning tools housed there while the engine is running, when the engine is running, only the outer lid has to be gripped by its handle and pivoted outwards. Due to the negative pressure prevailing in the dust chamber during operation of the vacuum cleaner, a suction force acts on the inner cover which, according to the invention, is greater than the holding force which acts between the inner and outer cover. As a result, the inner cover remains on the associated edge of the dust space when the outer cover is opened, so that it cannot be opened unintentionally. On the other hand, when the vacuum cleaner is switched off, the inner cover is also raised by lifting the outer cover, since then no closing force acts on the inner cover, which counteracts the holding force. The dust chamber is therefore easily accessible for replacing or cleaning the dust filter and collecting device. Finally, when the vacuum cleaner is switched off, the two lids can also be easily and quickly detached from one another if a cleaning tool is to be removed from the inner lid or put back in it. For this purpose, only the inner cover needs to be pushed away from the outer cover in order to overcome the holding force of the holding device.

The design according to the invention ensures that the operator can only open that space to which he wants access in the respective operating state of the vacuum cleaner. If the lock for the outer lid is actuated during operation and the handle is pivoted upwards, the storage tray becomes accessible so that the cleaning tool that is no longer required can be replaced in the storage tray and another cleaning tool can be removed. To empty or replace the dust collector and collecting device, which always takes place when the vacuum cleaner is switched off, the same locking mechanism and handle are released or gripped in the same way, with both lids being pivoted together or removed from the housing, but only the receiving space for the dust filter and collection device is accessible while the storage tray remains closed.

Further features of embodiments of the invention result from the further claims, the description and the drawings.

The invention is described below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings. It shows:
  • 1 shows a vacuum cleaner according to the invention with a housing which has a hinged and removable outer cover which closes an inner cover, in a side view and partly in section,
  • 2 the vacuum cleaner according to FIG. 1 in plan view and with the outer cover removed,
  • 3 is an illustration corresponding to FIG. 2 with the inner cover removed,
  • Fig. 4 in section the outer and inner ceiling) of the vacuum cleaner according to Fig. 1 to 3, which are connected to each other with a holding part.

The vacuum cleaner according to FIGS. 1 to 4 can be used both in the household and in commercial operations. It has a vacuum cleaner housing 2, which can be moved on the floor during operation with rear rollers 4 attached to the housing base 3 and a front support roller 6. A motor-blower unit 7 with an electric motor is accommodated in the housing 2. It generates a suction air flow with which the dust and dirt to be removed can be extracted from floors, walls, moldings, pictures or the like. The suction air flow flows from a cleaning tool (not shown) via a suction line 8 into a dust filter and collecting device 9 accommodated in the housing 2, where the dust-containing suction air flow is cleaned. The dust filter and collecting device 9 preferably consists of a paper or cloth bag which has to be replaced or emptied and cleaned at certain intervals. After flowing through this device 9, the cleaned sow leaves gluftstrom the vacuum cleaner housing 2 via (not shown) discharge openings.

The dust filter and collecting device 9 lies in a dust chamber 10 which can be closed with an inner cover 11. It lies airtight with a peripheral edge 12 with the interposition of a seal 13 on a corresponding edge 14 of the dust chamber.

The inner cover 11 is designed as a storage tray for various cleaning tools 15 (FIG. 2), such as a radiator brush, upholstery or crevice nozzles or the like. With these tools 15 not only floors, but also a wide variety of furnishings such as furniture, picture frames, radiators or the like can be extracted. Since a wide variety of cleaning tools are necessary when cleaning a living room, for example, they are always quickly at hand in the inner cover, which ensures quick work.

To accommodate the cleaning tools, the inner cover 11 has a recess 11 'or gill pieces (not shown) which are adapted to the outer contours of the cleaning tools to be accommodated. This means that the unused cleaning tools can be stored quickly and easily in the most convenient location.

The inner cover 11 and the cleaning tools 15 arranged in it are covered by the outer cover 16 to the outside. The outer cover 16 is articulated with plug-in hinges 18 on a rear housing wall 17 and is detachably fastened to the housing 2 on its front edge 16 'with preferably two detent springs 19 arranged next to one another at a distance. The springs 19 protrude with a latching lug into associated housing openings, from which they can be pressed out with little effort when the outer cover 16 is lifted off.

The outer lid 16 also has a transverse to the longitudinal direction of the vacuum cleaner housing 2 handle opening 20, into which the operator must reach to open the lid in order to be able to grip a lid part 23 which adjoins the front edge of the opening and serves as a handle.

In the closed position, the outer cover 16 is detachably connected to the inner cover 11 with a latching device 21 and a halo device 22 (FIG. 4).

The locking device 21 is located in the flow direction of the suction air stream directly behind the recess 11 'which receives the cleaning tools 15. The latching device 21 consists of at least two spaced-apart latching tongues 25 which project vertically upward above the top 24 of the inner cover 11 and which projects with a latching lug 26 into an associated latching opening 27 of a web 29 provided on the inside 28 of the outer lid 16. The holding device 22 consists of a magnet 30, preferably a rectangular magnet piece, which is preferably arranged in an opening of a transverse web 31 of the inner cover 11 lying in front of and above the recess 11 '. A magnet plate 32 attached to the inside 28 of the outer cover 16 is assigned to the magnet 30.

The holding force of the latching device 21 and the holding device 22 is in each case greater than the weight of the cover 11 and the tools 15, so that the inner cover 11 cannot be detached from the outer cover 16 if it is opened when the vacuum cleaner is switched off. As a result, both lids are lifted together, so that the dust chamber is opened for emptying or replacing the dust filter and collecting container.

When the vacuum cleaner is running, however, the negative pressure prevailing in the dust chamber 10 is greater than the holding force of the latching and holding device 21 and 22, so that when the outer lid 16 is opened, the inner lid 11 remains on the edge 14 of the housing 2 and the hatching device and latching device are released . As a result, the dust chamber 10 remains closed and only the outer cover 16 is lifted off, so that the inner cover 11 with the cleaning tools 15 is exposed.

In order to be able to take a cleaning tool out of the inner cover 11 or put it back in the vacuum cleaner when it is switched off, the outer cover 16 must first be gripped by the handle 23 and pivoted upward or be removed from the housing 2. The latching and holding device 21 and 22 are then released by pulling the inner cover 11 away from the outer cover 16. Then the inner cover 11 is replaced on the edge 14 of the dust chamber 10, the outer cover 16 is pivoted back or inserted with its plug-in hinges 18 into the housing wall 17 and then the outer cover 16 is pivoted back until its catch springs 19 snap into the associated housing openings. Here, an easily detachable connection between the outer cover and the housing is made.

The locking and holding device 21 and 22 prevent the operator from accidentally opening the wrong cover. Rather, depending on the current operating state of the vacuum cleaner, only the space that must be accessible when the vacuum cleaner is switched on or off is inevitably open in order to be able to remove the dust filter and collection device or the cleaning tools from the inner cover or to reinsert them.

Claims (7)

1. Suction cleaner, comprising a motor fan unit which is located in a suction cleaner housing and generates a suction air blast which supplies dusty air flowing into the suction cleaner from a cleaning tool via a suction pipe to a dust filtering or dust collecting means such as a paper filter bag or the like, which is located in a dust chamber of the housing, which dust chamber can be locked by an inside cover which serves as a pan for depositing cleaning tools therein and which is covered by a lockable cover which is hinged to the housing and has a grip, characterised in that without a locking mechanism and a grip for the inside cover (11) being required, the inside cover (11) and the outside cover (16) are joined to each other by means of at least one holding device (22) which exerts a given tractive power on one of the covers, said tractive power being smaller than the underpressure which acts inside the dust chamber (10) with the motor fan unit (7) running and thus acts also on the inside cover (11).
2. Suction cleaner according to claim 1, characterised in that the inside cover (11) is held on the outside cover (16) by a magnetic force.
3. Suction cleaner according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the holding device (22) has a magnet (30), which is fastened preferably to the inside cover (11) and which is associated to a metal plate (32) fastened on the inside (28) of the outside cover (16).
4. Suction cleaner according to any of the claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the inside cover (11) and the outside cover (16) are connected to each other by means of at least one click-stop device (21
5. Suction cleaner according to any of the claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the dick-stop device (21) and the holding device (22) - as seen in the flow direction of the suction air blast - are respectively arranged downstream and upstrom of a depression (11') of the inside cover (11) which receives the cleaning tools (15).
6. Suction cleaner according to any of the claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the click-stop device (21) consists of an engaging tongue (25) and a stop bar (29) having a notch (27), into which projects an engaging nose (26) of the engaging tongue.
7. Suction cleaner according to any of the claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the weight of the inside cover (11) and of the cleaning tools (16) is smaller than the traction power of the holding device (22) and/or the click-stop device (21).
