Description

The invention relates to a holder for a recessed ceiling light according to the preamble of claim 1.

With such a holder, known from US-A-2 954 201 and also from FR-A-1 304 849, a recessed luminaire can essentially only be attached in a single position relative to the surrounding ceiling, this position being determined by the design of the bracket and its connection with the recessed ceiling light. Since in the known cases the locking arm is resilient, however, small tolerances in the installation position can be compensated for.

With the known holders, however, it is not possible to fix a recessed luminaire in different types of ceilings and thus different installation heights. In addition, the known technology is not applicable if the recessed luminaire is to be firmly clamped against a stop, and elastic support via support springs is not permitted.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a holder according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that it can be used for rigid mounting of a recessed ceiling light in conjunction with supporting ceilings of considerably different dimensions.

The inventive solution to this problem is characterized in claim 1. According to the invention, depending on the arrangement and number of ratchet teeth, a corresponding number of installation positions can be realized with the same holder.

The support arm preferably has at least one recess on its lower bearing side which is delimited by two or more bearing surfaces which are inclined with respect to one another, adjacent bearing surfaces including at least an opening angle of 35 °: in this way, more favorable bearing conditions are obtained if the support arms are substantially in the carrying position the horizontal position are pivoted out. Above all, it is avoided in this way that forces are exerted by the holder on the ceiling support structure that are not directed vertically but horizontally.

Sometimes the ceiling support rails run perpendicular to the wall of the luminaire housing in which the support arms are mounted. According to a development of the invention, the support arms in this case are in the form of a support rail which is pivotably mounted at two points on the lamp housing like two support arms and can be locked in the support position by as many associated locking arms.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiments shown in the figures; show it
  • 1 shows a first embodiment of the mounting of a recessed light in a ceiling in cross section,
  • 2 shows a second embodiment with a mounting rail,
  • 3 shows a third embodiment in which the support arm is pivoted upwards out of the horizontal position,

  • Fig. 5 shows an embodiment with a support arm which is pivoted down from the horizontal and
  • Fig. 6 shows a cross section through a support arm in an enlarged view.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, a luminaire housing 1 with a side wall 10 and a light exit opening 11 is supported on a ceiling support rail 4, which at the same time also carries ceiling elements 5. The side wall 10 has for this purpose a La g erschlitz 102, the S-shaped by the well wide bearing piece 20 engages a support arm 2, whose width is outside of the lamp housing is larger than the width of the bearing slot 102nd At its end, the bearing piece is widened in a T-shape and thus secures the support arm in the bearing slot, which in turn is T-shaped in plan view in order to enable the bearing piece thus formed to be inserted. The support arm 2 can thus be pivoted about an axis of rotation D lying in the bearing slot 102 and parallel to the side wall 10 and to the light exit plane 11 from the dashed transpqrt position into the excellent support position in which the support arm 2 rests with a bearing surface 215 on the ceiling support rail 4.

To lock the support arm 2 in the illustrated carrying position, an arcuate locking arm 31 with an average arc radius B is used, which is guided through a recess 101 located above the bearing slot 102 in the side wall 10, the average distance from the axis of rotation D of the arc radius B is equal. At a distance of this arc radius from the axis of rotation D, the support arm 2 is articulated at a coupling point 22 with the locking arm 31, namely rotatable about an axis A, which runs parallel to the axis of rotation D.

The locking arm 31 has on its upper side a large number of locking teeth 32, the steep locking flanks of which face the side wall 10 of the lamp housing, and one of which lies against the upper edge 1011 of the recess 101 of the lamp housing when the support arm is subjected to a force in the direction of arrow P , which acts as a pawl. A locking spring 33 between support arm 2 and lock arm 31 presses the lock arm against the upper edge 1011 even without loading the support arm and thereby additionally secures the support arm in the carrying position.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, a luminaire housing 1.1 with a grid 12 in the light exit plane 11 is in a panel ceiling built, in which the ceiling support rails 4.1 run perpendicular to the side wall 10.1. In order to enable the luminaire housing 1.1 to be installed in any relation to the ceiling support rails 4.1, a functionally identical support rail 2.1 is provided instead of two support arms, which extends practically over the entire length of the luminaire housing, but which has only two S-shaped bearing pieces 20 , which is structurally identical to the bearing pieces of the previously described support arms and which engage in the bearing slots 102 provided for such support arms in the side wall 10.1.

Each support rail 2.1 is assigned a locking arm 31 for each bearing piece 20, which - as described with reference to FIG. 1 - is connected in an articulated manner to the support rail and engages through a recess 101 above the bearing slot 102 in the side wall.

The embodiment of Fig. 3 shows the mounting of the lamp housing in a ceiling with very high ceiling rails 4.2. Here, the support arm 2 - in contrast to Fig. 1 - must be pivoted very far up out of the horizontal. In order to ensure an essentially vertical loading of the ceiling support rail by the built-in lamp, the support arm is supported with a bearing surface 212 which is almost perpendicular to the turning radius of the support arm.

Fig. 4 shows the installation of a luminaire housing 1, in a panel ceiling with ceiling support rails 4.1, which again run perpendicular to the side wall 10 of the luminaire housing. Instead of two support arms, here again - similar to FIG. 2 - a support rail 2.2 is provided which, however, is pivoted upwards out of the horizontal position (as in FIG. 3) and which is supported with a bearing surface 212.2 on the ceiling support rail 4.1, which is also almost is perpendicular to the turning radius of the mounting rail.

Dementsprechend stützt sich der Tragsarm 2 mit einer anderen Lagerfläche 213 ab.5 finally shows the mounting of a luminaire housing 1 on a ceiling support rail 4, the support leg of which, however - in contrast to FIG. 1 - is directed towards the luminaire housing. Accordingly, the support arm 2 is supported with another bearing surface 213.

Figure imgb0001
Fig. 6 shows on an enlarged scale a cross section through a support arm 2 with bearing piece 20, a coupling point 22 and with a locking spring 33 indicated by dashed lines. On the lower bearing side, the support arm has three recesses 200, 201 and 202. which are at different distances from the Axis of rotation D are located and are each limited by two differently oriented bearing surfaces. The bearing surfaces 211, 212 of the recess 200 and the bearing surfaces 215 and 216 of the recess 202 are oriented in the same way and each include the same opening angle a1 between them. The depression 201 lying between the said depressions, on the other hand, is delimited by bearing surfaces 213, 214 with a larger opening angle a2, these bearing surfaces additionally not running parallel to one of the other bearing surfaces. As the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 5 show, the spacings of the depressions from the axis of rotation D and the inclinations of the bearing surfaces delimiting them are selected so that optimum installation conditions result in the most frequently occurring ceiling support structures.
